    My understanding is that preground flax seeds have lost their omega 3 content because omega 3s are volatile oils. When grinding them, one doesn't allow the grinder to get warm either. By all means, use them in cooked foods but the value of the oils will be cooked out. I learned this decades ago from Dr. Andrew Weil. Any news on this topic?

    Soy 'Milk' the most chemically unhealthy produced seed oil product on the planet, avoid all costs as like vegan. We did not evolve over 100s thousands of years on plants, we eat animal products primarily. Stick to these, cut all processed foods out including seed oils and you'll reduce the risk of diabetes and heart conditions, the food industry hates this.

    Great instructional video. Solution is easy. Disregard ultra processed food. Eat Whole Foods with as much variety of meat, vegetables and fruits. And, Cook your own food. Above all, exercise and, use food as a support to your exercise program

      @@aubreyvandyne5284 there are plenty of nutrients you wont be able to get from a plant based diet. That doesnt sound like a proper, evolved human diet to me. Not to mention that the nutrients you do get, will not be as bioavailable as the nutrients in animal foods.

      @@kayn6858 so don't listen to RUclips scammers, look up the science. The American Dietetic Assoc. says eating a well planned vegan diet is sufficient for your health. Choose nutritious plants and you'll be fine and meet all your needs. Cows are given B12 vitamins, if you don't eat cows then take a supplement. No big deal.

    Completely agree that animals products were important to humans and are now. Animals products seem to work much better for me than fruits and vegetables. I tried both approaches already.

    For someone that eats healthy and consumes mostly Whole Foods, I can tell you there is nothing more satisfying and tasty. I think your taste buds adjust and I rarely enjoy eating anything highly processed and filled with junk.

    I think it’s also important to consider what kind of fat, what kind of sugar, what kind of salt. Do you want food steeped in processed seed oils, fructose or maybe lactose, with a large pinch of sea salt with microplastics? Part of the problem is government that pushes McDonald’s to discontinue to cook their fries in beef tallow and instead use seed oil or bean oil. The government also doesn’t do a good job of ensuring dangerous additives are not used.

    I once bought a product-a 'yoghurt'- from the U.K.'s leading Soya dessert maufacturer, which apparently had no added sugar in it-just the sugars from the fruits it contains and it was horrible. You do seem to be promoting a 'Plant-based'/ Vegan lifestyle, which I think, in the long run, will proliferate the incidence of type 2 diabetes and it's co-morbidities, in societies and sub-cultures that promote it. Therefore I think it's 'six of one and half a dozen of the other' in the game of you warning us away from the processed foods and then promoting Veganism. For instance, you point out Bacon as being processed, but it does fall under the description of possibly sensible food choices, i.e. 'minimally processed' foods, you mention towards the end.

    I've watched how my obese relatives eat dinner and how my normal weight relatives eat dinner and there is a stark difference between them. The normal weight relatives take much smaller portions on their plates and very slowly eat it and then don't go back for seconds. They spend more time talking to each other during dinner than they do eating. If they do have dessert it is usually just a very thin slice and they have something like coffee or hot tea with it and spend more time sipping the hot beverage than eating. The obese relatives tend to wolf down their food and go for seconds and thirds.

    The Web have to many studys and documents , some studys find goods from a Keto, or even a low carbs, goods from from a vegan, from a mediterranic diet , from octo vegetarian, from vegetarian (thta eat fish),some studys show low protein is good, other say high protein is good for eldery people...etc..etc..it is a never ending of diferent studys . All of them show GOOD results :-(

      It is a minefield for sure, it's hard to know what to believe. I think it helps to look at the broad trends of different forms of evidence though, as Dr. Davis suggests in this book. When we do that, we tend to see that the more whole plant foods people eat, the healthier they usually are.

    Wait. You're a food scientist and you just said french fries have no sugar? A potato is a starch. A starch is a carbohydrate. A carbohydrate is sugar as far as you're body is concerned.

    Fat would be fine if embedded in its natural food matrix. Especially the ultra processed foods always make use of the highly doubtful seed oils (sunflower, rapseed etc.) which are considered to be really bad for your health ,(its also in all kinds of plant drinks). The are oxidyst by definition because of their high polyunsatursted fatty acid profile. Look for e.g. for videos of Chris Knoppe or Dr. Paul Mason (and alot of others).

      I agree. Only beef for me. It might anger most vegans on the internet, but even my Vegan friends have been curious about a PHD (Proper Human Diet - look it up). As enticing as it may be, a Vegan diet, while being WAY better than eating processed foods (at least initially for a few years), will put most people in hospital after about 5 years of being strict vegan. I appreciate the insight into the food industry, and this well presented video, so I will give it a thumbs up, but please, whatever diet you choose to follow, do your research *VERY* carefully before you commit
