I am 40 years plant-based low fat. I look decades younger than my years, am on no medication and am an excellent shape and body weight. My sisters and other family members have been predicting my death from malnutrition since i was 19. They are not well, bloated and on statins - most are on the carnivore diet. I am very grateful i got the right information so early in my life about plant-based diets.
the fact that people still think that cholesterol is bad is mind blowing, cholesterol is bad when you have inflamation. i will do what worked and still works for me, on a carnivore diet for 2 years and I fell perfect
I tried carnivore until I began having digestive issues (not enough fiber) and reading up on dr Greger. I’m 38. I think it started catching up to me in a big way after 35
Don't be silly. Of course you're going to be alive. You simply want to be a meat-eater, but choose to try to scare people instead of admitting it. Lol@@ZmogusJaponija
I recently switched to a Whole Foods, Plant Based diet that excludes Salt, oil, and sugar. This month the doctor who has wanted me on a Statin, something for my blood pressure, and Metformin for my blood sugar says I don't need any of them. And I've lost about 50lbs. I've known for a long time that I SHOULD go Vegan for my health, for my conscience, for the planet. But I had no idea what a tremendous difference it would make so quickly in my health.
That's great. I got the same message 4 years ago after switching to a WFPB diet, so I have to say that this was the best change I have ever done. Good luck to you!
Veganism will kill the planet. We need the animals for the soil. It's massive farming and chemicals that are killing the planet. See for yourself the shocking million dollar machines that the animals have been removed for. The trees have been removed so the fifty meter wide span of the machines can spread the toxic chemicals all over the soy, wheat, sugar and corn. It's that we must get rid of. Not to mention all those awful grains they're spraying to manufacture the cooking oils that are no good for man or beast. Please don't become one of the many contributors to this cult.
@@pepper419 No. Just no. False in every regard. Up to 80% of some crops generated by that "massive farming and chemicals" are being grown just to FEED the animals we're raising for milk, eggs, and meat. And we've decimated most other animal life on the planet, again to grow more meat. Then there's the green house gas effect. We will go vegan as a species or we will lose this planet as a place to live.
@@johnpurser2798 Fat chance. Watch ground swell and stop farting yourself. Vegans fart just as much as animals when they eat beans. Meat eaters don't. You can't replace one vegan with another expecting the balance to change. It's impossible. We need the animals back on the land. We're killing the land to feed you. Million dollar machines spreading billions of dollars worth of toxins; artificial fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, bactericides, in the name of junk food like cakes, pasta, wheat, rice, sugar, soy, corn, oils for cooking that are no darn good for human beings or beasts. They should only be used for machines but everything get cooked in them. There must be a whole isle of them in the supermarket by now. How much land does that crap take up? This is why the lowly cow has been demonized. YES, don't demonize the cereals made of junk and coated in sugar that will rot teeth. Don't demonize coca cola with it's ten teaspoons of sugar per can. That's too valuable to the market. But meat, no good. Industry has no use for it.
Very interesting documentary. I was vegetarian for many years, then vegan, then raw vegan. I became sicker and sicker. I switched to a low carb way of eating. Some animal protein (organic, farm raised. chicken, turkey, lamb, some seafood). Lost weight, triglycerides are 57, cholesterol 185, lowered bp etc. I just feel better over all. It’s been a long time. I wonder if different diets work differently from person to person. Find what works for you.
It would make non sense because there is no herbivore feline and no flesh eating based cow/horse/sheep/rabbit/sheep. We are primate with a frugivore anatomy.
I believe that you`re not only right but also our physiology changes as we age. 22yrs ago the low carb diet worked great for me. But nowadays I feel sicker and exhausted eating that way, and I feel really good as a vegan/raw vegan. Who would`ve thought? But like you said, find what works for you.
Veganism is about ethics not health or environmental issues, so if you ditched your scruples, then you never had a social conscience in the first place. that said we vegan can and should also care about our health and the environment. Likely is that as a raw plant based you were never consuming a balanced wholefood diet and you were never ethically vegan.
I ate American diet which is high in carbs , sugars, very low fat and I ended up with fatty liver , high bad cholesterol, I.e. very low density lipoprotein and ended up with 2 strocks despite the fact that I'm not diabetic. I went on a strict low carb, high fat and protein diet. My liver was relieved totally, my cholesterol is within normal levels and stopped lipitor. I'm totally keto rite now. And I'm good for 2 years.
dr. McDumabass would say "thats extreme!" lol these people are headed towards fatty liver/diabetes every*clapp single*clapp one*clapp. spread the low carb message to your family and close friends, these vegans and fat phobes just have no clue whats really going on.

People have success on different types of 'diets' (actually lifestyles), like WPB, VLC, etc. The BOTTOM LINE is that success comes from ELIMINATING processed foods.
Most people could radically improve their diet simply by not buying any food item that has an ingredients list on the label. An added benefit is the vastly reduced amount of packaging that has to be thrown away or recycled.
Sombebody said it 👏I grew up in Europe and I mainly eat the vegetables (and some of the meat) that we grow at home. I consume meat twice a day, I am physically strong and not often sick (I do have weather depending migraines that make me feel sick too so I just count that in). And I firmly believe, that those processed foods aren't healthy at all. At least, not to consume three times a day. I doubt that if you eat just a little of those processed foods with a lot of homegrown foods won't do you that much harm.
I followed the guidelines being taught by this documentary for many years! Ended up over weight, bad blood work, inflammation all through my body, ended up trying a high-protein high fat low carb diet, weight is better, blood work is better, most of my information is gone, have lied to my primary doctor the whole time telling him I was doing what he said, best advice he has given me- keep doing what you're doing, Most doctors lie to their patients, I know mine did
The drug-dominated medical profession is a disaster zone. Honestly, I'm afraid even of going to a MD for a check-up... They only see me in emergency situations.
What none of those "professionals" interviewed would point out is that you can eat enough protein from plants to survive but not to thrive. Eat this way and you will develop sarcopenia and waste away in a nursing home a wasted (and probably overweight) individual, or you can eat muscle protein and stay more muscular as you age. It is amazing that they will not point this out.
I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. Also, I save money by not having to buy pills and visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.
You've pretty much expressed my experience, and it's the best decision going WFPB I will ever make in my whole life. Food is cheap lentils beans curry chilli. Never satisfied when eating meat and dairy, constantly wanted more, and now content and not obsessing about food😊
This is a truly great documentary. I was fact-checking it 4 years ago and decided to go fully plant based. Best thing I have ever done for my health and weight. After 40 years of eating animal crap and dairy I actually got my health back. And you know what? My testosterone levels increased dramatically, and after 4 years I will never go back to the animal foods.
Very good video. I turned vegan in 1991. The cruelty of animal farming and environmental damage caused by the meat industry my motivation. I expected it to kill me after years of medical ltreatment and negative advice against it . Thirty plus years on i have never looked back and no toxic medicines.
How many billions of creatures do you think you are responsible for killing with the plant agriculture? Growing plants destroy entire ecosystems and all the life with it. Then soil is ruined... then we die. We need animals. I eat one cow a year. You will kill multiple mice, voles, fox, badgers, squirrels, birds, hogs, bees, flies, spiders, beetles, etc to grow plants. So please don't feel virtuous. Studies show vegans kill way way more life.
Food Choices mostly focuses on the science behind eating a plant based diet, but then goes on to elaborate on the environment, and then the ethics. I learned that too much protein damages the body, and that fish oil doesn’t help with omega 3 at all. Animal flesh is full of omega 6 which causes a disbalance of omegas within our body. I love how even now I can still find new faults about the murder diet. Apparently all the low carb diets are similar, but they gave them different names. This documentary features a lot of vegan authors, it’s basically science after science. There were some cool vegan athletes. I feel like a lot of vegan documentaries use a very similar formula, and that it would be way more beneficial to differentiate, and cover different topics like sentience, animal biology, and diversity. I love that it is free on youtube like a lot of vegan documentaries. This is easily accessible, informational, straight to the point, no nonsense. Lots of people can benefit from this, and it promotes a low-fat wfpb diet which is the best diet. This is a low budget, let the experts talk documentary.
I used to follow some of the doctors they use in this video. I've since learned that for me, my carbohydrate intake has to be 20 grams or less per day. It's the only way I reversed my T2D and got off all of my diabetic medications. It was a plant based diet that helped worsen my metabolic syndrome and ultimately contributed to my T2D diagnosis. Saturated fat is not the problem. It's the carbs (sugar, fructose, and all carbs) that are the problem. We've been lied to for over 60-years, and we are suffering from the results.
I find it ironic that people that are on strict plant-based diet, no matter how much they claim to be feeling well and healthy, look gaunt dehydrated zombies.

I would definitely check to see if the makers of this RUclips video have their own agenda. Anytime a documentary leans hard in any one direction you have to be skeptical.
@@mastalee1776because the human body was never designed to eat flesh. Read Genesis-Livitcus. @@Meikacalli1226 NOT ONE DIET FOR ALL is the best direction to go; with different individuals thriving on different diets. Yet, Weston Price found none of the healthy diets of healthy isolated people groups to be vegan; all contained some form of animal- and fermented foods, and none was low fat.
I summarize the documentary: meat and animal proteins are the devil and plants and starches are the only real foods for good health. Vegan diet is a form of fasting. It can be beneficial in the short term, yet is rarely sustainable in the long run. Hope you're not one of the many to look back with much regret over your decision.
I did Esselstyns diet for over 2 months and I freakin hate it. I've never felt this ravenously hungry despite being in a kcal surplus. I can understand any diet, but I don't belive anybody eating WFPB no fat feels great. You're preparing food all day, and you're eating like a cow all day. You're never satiated and yet your stomach is so full it's hard to breathe. And then 2h later you're hungry asf again. I feel just awful wobbly and spacey with all those carbs. While carbs with protein and fat make me feel good. I can eat oats with milk. Or potatoes with some butter and a piece of meat. Or 2-3eggs for breakfast and be full for most of the day not even thinking about food. But nofat wfpb and im full physically yet starving after 2h just craving to eay antyhing. Awful I had less hunger after a 11day waterfast refeed than on that diet.
I can just go by how I feel. I am a non med diabetic. I've always tried to control with my diet. Well when I started this my fasting blood sugar was 176😯 this morning it was 117. I'm amazed at what it has done
@@pegdalton1379 And that is the most important part. Some people just don't like meat or animal products. But for me they make me feel incredible despite me trying to delude myself that they are "bad" foods. My Mom who passed very young also didn't like animal products at all, a good friend of mine also not a vegan but just doesn't like animal products. But for my Dad and me we could eat nothing besides animal products and likely do fine. The sole reason I'm restricting them somewhat is due to science. But I feel definitely not good very fast if I go without. And it's funny cuz as said I can go without food for a longass time. But when I eat no animal products I'm just constantly thinking about food. Which with moderate carb intake(30-50%) isn't the case. I feel like I can go without food as long as I want, without my body going all crazy.
Yes alleviating the Randle Cycle will TEMPORARILY improve your health, give it time, and your plant based diet will fail you, unfortunately. #meatheals
I’m so grateful for all of the plant based doctors and promoters! Documentaries like these changed my perspective and helped improve my health. My BP, and cholesterol are in the optimal range and my inflammation and pain has improved greatly. My hair and nails grow fast and are strong 💪 as well.

Key foods included whole grains, legumes, vegetables and fruits. No mandated exercise or calorie counting was implemented. The WFPB group had a self-reported increased quality of life, they decreased their medication and blood glucose and their cholesterol dropped. The plant-based group had left the 3-month study 19 pounds lighter, but at 6 months were down about 27 lbs. The BROAD study, however, lasted only 3 months, yet the plant-based group not only lost significant weight, they kept it off. This study ran from August 2014 to 2015 and was extended to 2017.

Yes you could achieve all that on plant base, and I've achieved the same by giving up dairy and meat in 9 months, with out consuming sadness, suffering on sentient animals. Your journey. I've learnt with the humans on this earth that a huge amount simply just don't care or want to know, because they just love the meat and dairy to much. Of all the food groups including meat, legumes alone had consistent and statistically significant results.

Propaganda like this is purposefully aimed at those like you, who are easy to influence. Do yourself a favour, and research further before depriving yourself and your future children of essential nutrients, which will especially impact their health and well-being negatively. I recently had a conversation with a co-worker who told me about a course she took that included a unit on survival. Such as, if you're lost in the woods. Her instructor advised against foraging because a) plants are too low in calories, b) you had better be sure that what you find is edible, and c) you will burn more calories foraging than what you are likely to find. Her recommendation was to kill an animal for food because that will keep you alive. That gave me pause to look at my garden; yes, it's green and lush, and not much of it is edible.

Negatory. The majority of the calories you burn on a daily basis are from basic bodily functions. You burn more calories eating all day long than if you weren't eating at all. Only about 10% of the calories you burn come from physical exertion and exercise. This is why overweight people get frustrated when they can't lose weight by jogging on the treadmill and lifting weights for an hour a day. Perhaps after that conversation you should have done your own research. Also, no offense but how many of us ever have or will be needing to forage for survival? Food shortage, contrary to popular belief is an illusion. Look at or talk to just about any homeless person who isn't mentally ill. How many of them are skin and bones??? Getting enough calories is not an issue for them usually.

Yes you can't survive foraging in the woods easily because most of us lack the skills to do so, meat or fish if available is far more substantial The lady's husband had a high cholesterol and saturated fat diet not a balanced one which is understandable in the modern context she switched him to an extreme vegan diet. (hope he's taking b12) which is great for heart related stuff. It has other issues tho like processed food like seitan and lack of a few vitamins but it'll help the gentleman. The last guy Cherry picked a fact. You burn 70 percent of your daily energy just by living this includes homeostasis, breathing etc. The rest goes for movement (depending on how much) on average it's 10 percent. While starving it's less. The reason why he doesn't see thin people on the roads is they poor didn't have enough to live not to survive. Switch countries to Africa or Afghanistan N you'll see an actual starving person. A balanced diet higher with grains, natural fiber and veg with a little protein is healthy and works better than any of these extremes. We aren't homeless or jobless are we.. We're discussing what's best for us. Good to keep that in mind.

Good documentary! Being from the low-carb side of the aisle, I believe there are a lot of commonalities despite the appearance of being dichotomious. Personally, I have gotten off all my meds, and I have more lean muscle mass than I had in High School. I realize this anadolcal, that being said, any results can be achieved through discipline and perseverance. I am 53 but look 35 and fitter than most athletic 18 year olds. There is a lot to be said for clean eating no matter which direction you choose. The real culprits are simple sugars/high fructose, pesticides and government/political special interests.
Absolutely 💯 I agree and at the same time if we are healthy but the planet is not ( since we and the planet are one) then there is no point in being healthy

Dairy consumption increases breast cancer. Dairy is full of the hormone estradiol because the dairy cow is milked while it is pregnant and it has been measured in the milk. The 7th day Adventists are often studied because they are health conscious, don’t drink alcohol or smoke, and eagerly participate in studies. ADVENTIST HEALTH STUDY 2 showed the more milk the Adventists consumed the higher the breast cancer. This study was confirmed by a study in China, CHINA KADOORIE BIOBANK STUDY. The Conclusion: The more dairy you consume the higher your breast cancer risk. ¼ cup/day of milk increases breast cancer risk by 17%.
I feel sick when I eat carbs and dairy. When I don't eat carbs or dairy, I lose weight immediately, my muscles come back, out, my skin is more dewy, and I have more energy. I eat loads of fat and protein. I get my carbs only from veggies and a small amount of fruit. I do not do ketosis, but I keep my carbs around 85 grams per day. Grains and wheat make me sick. I think vegans eat way too much grain and processed food. Also, the more fat I eat, the better my skin is. Of course, eating a lot of fat has to be accompanied by cutting out some carbs, mainly in the form of grains--veggies are the good carbs. Some people thrive on high fat, low carb diets.
22 sets of twins tried both vegan and meat diets. Researchers at Stanford University studied the twins' cardiovascular health. After eight weeks following their respective diets, the twin siblings who ate a vegan diet had lost more weight, reduced their LDL, or "bad" cholesterol, and experienced lower insulin levels, according to the study's findings. "The findings from this trial suggest that a healthy plant-based diet offers a significant protective cardiometabolic advantage compared with a healthy omnivorous diet," the study's authors wrote. The study, published Nov. 30 in the journal JAMA Network Open.
Twin study Addendum: The telomere caps measured longer in the vegan group and shorter in the meat group suggesting the meat eaters were aging faster.. Additionally, the Epigenetic Biological clocks showed the vegan group was aging more slowly and the meat group was aging more quickly.
When you watch old black and white movies, (30s, 40s, 50s) those skinny people were eating butter and drinking full fat milk - especially their kids. They ate a portion of meat. They ate mostly whole grains in breads and crackers, the bleached alternatives were just starting to appear. They ate fruits and vegetables, including potatoes. When they did drink juice in the morning it was in a small “juice glass.” They were just starting to add the processed foods to the stores. Fast food restaurants were just getting started. People drank soda pop as an occasional treat, not daily, and certainly not with every meal. They ate reasonable portions at meals. Snacks were a treat, not a way of life. I believe the diet mentality started appearing more at that time too, but nothing like now. People need to be reasonable about food. No food eaten in moderation that’s from its natural source (the earth) is “bad”. Processed food (not food that has just been blended and/or cooked, but food that has had its structure altered) is bad. They take nutrients out of food and then re-add nutrients. Does that make sense to you? Sure, people who are overweight can lose weight on Keto. Fasting can be helpful too. But to be reasonable: you don’t 100% cut out any food that you have available, you’re not allergic to and that’s basically in its natural state. You just eat it in moderation. There’s a wide variety of natural food on earth, with a wide variety of nutritional value, not to mention flavors that enhance life. God created food for our enjoyment and health. Mankind is ruining it by altering it, and polluting it.
60's kid here. We had red meat & veg every single night, no such thing as chicken except for Christmas day & fish came out of a tin. Butter and milk was all we had before cheese and yogurt started hitting the shelves. Nobody was fat and no, we did NOT eat whole grains. White bread and white potatoes were all we had if you were hungry between meals, you got an apple if you were lucky. Immigration in the 70's brought changes in the food. Pasta, rice & legumes started to appear on shelves along with vegetarian substitutes and breakfast cereals. Fast food popped up everywhere and the road to Lardville was paved.
Problem is that all that saturated fat was still giving people heart attacks despite staying thin and active. Smoking certainly made it much much worse, but the science is pretty clear that cultures that ate the most saturated fat (Sweden, previously) had 10x more cardiovascular deaths than those that ate the least (japan).
So we are hunter gatherers but most of of our food has always been provided by gatherers (the women and the children) even though the hunters (the men) got all the glory. Fact- hunting a single bison could provide more calories than the women and children could gather in a year. And our ancestors have hunted a lot of them all the time.
Every single person, whether they have a degree, or not, feel that their eating plan is best. Vegans feel there is nothing better than veganism. Keto people feel nothing is better than keto. Raw vegans feel nothing beats all raw, all the time. Carnivore dieters feel theirs is best. I follow many, just out of curiosity, on here, and guess what? I have tried most of them. But, bottom line is, I love to eat. I love food. Some people say sugar is evil. No sugar, ever. I feel watching added sugars, using natural sweeteners like maple syrup and honey in moderation, or raw sugar, in moderation, and making my own sweets, is better than commercial, pre packaged crap with lots of chemicals in it. I eat full fat dairy, cheeses, and yes, I eat eggs, free range, from local people. Stop trying to rule how people eat and just tell them, eat good, organic, unprocessed food, make your own food, most of the time, and be as active as you can be.
That may be fine for you, but I’m pretty sure the animals wouldn’t agree that the carnivore diet is the best, for example. Our choices have impact beyond our own enjoyment or even health.

@@Julieac100 respectfully, they weren’t “put here” by anyone for anything except by us as we developed this system. We created this situation, especially the modern industrial scale of the farming. We chose to breed them into existence for this purpose, but now we can recognize that it’s morally wrong, is unnecessary, and is doing profound damage to the environment and, most importantly, to the animals who are bred into and then are slaughtered within the system. IMO too much is made of lowering BP - similar to the fuss about lowering cholesterol. The last time my BP was that low, after regular fasting; they would not allow me to donate blood. Salt is needed to maintain a high enough blood volume, and with it high enough BP, which for example improves exercise performance. All-cause mortality is linked to lower, not higher BP. The lower one's blood volume & BP, the less blood (with O2, nutrients, immune cells etc.) is delivered all around the body, and waste products are not removed as efficiently.

The same diets have been pushed for 50 years now. They all have different names. Fact is the UN, CDC, and WHO have been warning people for 15 years to stop consuming meat and dairy. Let's talk about the planet's health and antibiotic resistance. Do you really believe that all these hormones and antibiotic infested animals that literally spend their entire existence in Feces, urine, and other dead animals? To be slaughtered for greed? No different than smoking and the same people are playing the same game with your health. You support animal abuse? It is ok to eat dogs too? what about kicking them and torturing hem? Is that acceptable behavior because that is the industry you support!
@@kimberlysmith7311 Animal agriculture does have significant environmental impacts, and many argue that it contributes to environmental degradation and climate change. 1) Greenhouse gas emissions: Animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Livestock production, particularly cattle, produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Additionally, clearing land for grazing or growing animal feed releases carbon dioxide, contributing to deforestation and climate change. 2) Land and water use: Animal agriculture requires vast amounts of land and water. Raising livestock necessitates large areas for grazing or cultivating animal feed crops. This leads to deforestation, habitat loss, and soil degradation. Furthermore, animal agriculture consumes substantial amounts of water for animal hydration and crop irrigation. 3) Water pollution: The concentration of livestock in factory farming operations generates significant amounts of waste. The runoff from these operations can pollute water bodies, contributing to water pollution and eutrophication. 4) Biodiversity loss: The expansion of animal agriculture encroaches on natural habitats, leading to the loss of biodiversity. Deforestation for grazing or feed crop cultivation reduces habitat availability for various plant and animal species, contributing to species extinction.5) Antibiotic resistance: The routine use of antibiotics in animal agriculture to promote growth and prevent diseases contributes to the rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This poses risks to human health as well.
@@kimberlysmith7311 The carnivore diet, which consists primarily of animal products with little to no plant-based foods, is a highly debated topic among health professionals. It is a restrictive diet with profound effects on the environment. 1) Lack of essential nutrients: By excluding plant-based foods, a carnivore diet can potentially lead to deficiencies in essential nutrients such as fiber, certain vitamins (like vitamin C), minerals (like potassium), and phytochemicals found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. These nutrients play crucial roles in maintaining overall health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.2) High saturated fat and cholesterol intake: A carnivore diet is typically high in saturated fats and cholesterol, which are primarily found in animal products. A diet high in saturated fat and cholesterol has been associated with an increased risk of heart disease and other cardiovascular issues. 3) Limited fiber intake: Plant-based foods are the primary source of dietary fiber, which is important for maintaining digestive health, regulating blood sugar levels, and supporting heart health. A carnivore diet can lack adequate fiber intake, potentially leading to constipation and other digestive problems. 4) Potential nutrient imbalances: Relying solely on animal products can disrupt the balance of macronutrients in the diet, particularly with regard to carbohydrates. This can potentially affect energy levels and overall metabolic health. 5) Long-term sustainability: The sustainability of a carnivore diet is questionable due to its heavy reliance on animal products. From an environmental perspective, a plant-based or plant-forward diet is generally considered more sustainable and eco-friendly. 6) Individual variations: It's important to acknowledge that individual responses to different dietary approaches can vary. Some individuals may report short-term improvements in certain health markers or conditions while following a carnivore diet. However, long-term effects and potential risks should be carefully considered. DEATH! that is how it works when you consume dead things. We are homo sapien, not homo carnivorous. In fact that is utterly ridiculous.

Of the one or two handfuls of 'nutrition documentaries' that I have watched in recent years, this documentary might be the best: It's uber-informative and extremely understandable for the average person who either knows little about nutrition and/or may have a passing interest. This is the documentary that I believe I would use to introduce friends or family to nutrition in the 'attempt-to-hell'-> (much like Spock of Starfleet...I too never developed much of a knack for utilizing "colorful metaphors") to educate them or to 'sell them' and convince them why a predominant plant-based diet or way of life is very sound and logical and far superior to the diet and foods that esp. we "Westerners" eat...
However, there are those who are for the first time exposed to PB/vegan propaganda, many of whom might find the presentation compelling and moving; especially youngsters - easy to influence - ripe for the picking...
It's so simple when you go keto, you don't have to go into this moderation thing because you don't go hungry on keto. The best part about it is, you lose heaps of fat if you're fat and you don't feel hungry.
You might feel better at the moment, but the lack of fiber and the protein overload will probably create problems down the line. And a meat-based diet is truly terrible for the environment.
That's because they're the only doctors who did research. As they mentioned, most doctors do not get nutrition training. They're supposed to just give prescriptions for pills to treat the diseases that eating meat causes. (not cure it, then they would be out of a job)
Problem is they do not say anything about that... You can be vegan, have too many carbs and be unhealthy... You can be raw, have too many carbs and be unhealthy. Local grown veg, nuts and berries for vegans. Local grass fed eggs, meat... for the rest. Low carb works. Queen Elisabeth II is a great example. Dr. Breg DC has good quality videos on vegan, and animal-based keto. Does not matter that much if you go plant based or animal based. The goal is: Perennial plant sources of protein, fat and fiber may just be the answer to the climate problem, alongside with the solution named: permaculture... Pasture raised animals with rotational grazing also help with carbon sequestration... The big industry does not whant to know this truths, and pays people to say lies, because it is big businesses.
It's not the protein that's important, but rather the amino acids that makeup the protein... Especially getting the essential amino acids and how easily your body can assimilate them. That's what makes it different for each individual person. How well are you absorbing the nutrients you are consuming? If you're not absorbing them well what is the source of that malabsorption?
There is no one specific diet that covers everyone. Because we are not identical. Some need more of this while some need more of that or less of this. You have to create your own nutritional guide & that is all trial & error & our nutritional needs change as we age.We need to diet on what makes our bodies feel the great & perform as best as possible. Videos like this one valuable.
Age 47 heart attack, no signs in blood. No high pressure. 2 stents now. 4 pills a day. 3 years ate a vegan diet. Today low, sugar, low carb. Mostly plant base.
Man I feel so great on meat, eggs, milk, cheese, fish and butter if they are part of a whole foods diet. But the moment I cut out the fat and animal products, I end up feeling starving. I can somewhat do with moderate protein and lower fat, but still the amounts of food to digest are crazy. I did Esselstyns diet even with a kcal surplus cuz I was so hungry all the time. It took me over a month to restabilize this ravenous appetite after quitting. And I tried to get in as much variety as I can to cover all potential nutrients. It's insane. All I keep getting told is my bodies own intuition is SO wrong. But big science is right and knows what's best for me and my health. Eating in moderation is incredibly easy if you're satiated. That's why ppl do keto (I'm not a fan of it). But low carb and keto gave even extreme overweight ppl the first time a notion of feeling NOT hungry. It's incredible. But all this insulinspiking 24/7 even if it's "only" to 130 is gonna keep u hungry.
Congratulations on the attempt. First hurtle/mistake is simple removing animal products without replacing the very small amount of nutrition. It's like learning how to eat again. Salads is not enough. It works to aim for 50+ plant based foods (sounds like a lot but is very simple). The main nutrients in animals are eaten and stored. Those nutrients in animals comes from the ground. If your in the USA, regular supermarket meat is so under nutrition that they inject chemicals to meet the standards set from research done when animals lived and ate more natural.
Posting a similar reply to one I made below. I feel your pain.Check out FAT FICTION documentary and Pahla B and Dr. Berg on youtube for advice about losing weight At the moment I am basically vegetarian keto and lots of good fat foods. I am finally losing weight. All sounds Counter-intuitive I know. The good fat keeps you satiated. When I am stronger I will revert to Vegan. Eat nothing with sugar - check ingredients list of everything you buy!
If you remove animal products, you are essentially removing the food that is causing that satiating feeling. You can't keep that satiation by eating plants. It's impossible because your glucose spikes and you have to replenish it when it drops. It's not nutrition that you have to replace - it's the fat, and animal fat is perfect for your body. If you have a high-carb diet and a high-fat diet (to help with the satiating feeling) you will throw your body into glucose spikes and weight gain. Your body can't use both glucose AND fat as fuel. Pick one. Glucose will make you get hungry sooner. Fat will make you satiated until YOU feel hungry again. You might hear people say, "Your body needs glucose", and it does for like 3 functions - but what they aren't telling you is that your body can make all the glucose it needs because of gluconeogenesis from the liver. We put too many carbs in our body without knowing that our body's daily recommended need for carbs is ZERO! Go carnivore for 30 days and see the difference. Not Keto. Carnivore. Meat. Fat. Water. Salt.
Imagine that it was said how one is supposedly unhealthy when not always hungry... (That was so very funny!) And also to be able to stuff your face as much as you want with all those plant foods 😂😂😂
WFPB is the way to go. There is no debate on this. It is backed up by decades of studies. I am living proof myself. After cardio surgery and many years on drugs. Since WFPB 6 years ago. No more cardio issues, drugs and better than i have been for a long time.
Well my family and grandparents are living proof that raw fatty dairy with some meat and some veggies are proof of longevity 😮my whole family lives well into late 80,s mid to late 90,s 😊see where I'm going with this???
The core message of eat more plants is genuinely a good one, especially in a world that fails to get regular fiber intake and wants to solve their dietary deficiencies with pills, but I disagree with the notion that animal products are inherently bad for us. Really whenever someone wants to argue a whole food is inherently bad for us I am immediately skeptical. It seems hypocritical to argue that nature (or God) was wise beyond its years in how it provides plants to us in such an intelligent way (ie: fiber with sugar), but then argue it took the day off when designing animal products. The big problem we seem to have in society is processing our products far beyond their original form into something else entirely. At the end of the day you can take a vegetable, bread it, and deep fry it in oil, which isn't the greatest thing for you either, but the vegetable is not the problem. One interesting thing I noticed towards the end of the video is they covered grass fed beef because people are turning to more natural products these days, and they did not seem to mention anything as far as the nutritional value, but instead focused on the environmental impact, and I'm just assuming they sidestepped that topic because naturally raised products are going to be far more nutritious than a factory raised egg or grain fed steak (such as the omega-3 profile being far higher). Really the only convincing arguments I saw to lower animal product consumption was simply the environmental impact of consuming animal products, and the humane aspect of it, which is part of the reason I have switched to more naturally raised animal products. Healthwise the idea that any animal product from a properly raised animal that lives a natural life (ie: pasture raised chickens, grass fed farm animals, wild caught fish, etc) is problematic to consume regularly seems laughable, which is probably the biggest problem with the pitching of this WFPB diet concept is that it fails to outline an acceptable amount of animal product consumption, but the vibe I got from it felt like it really wanted people to live as close to a vegan lifestyle as possible. To be fair though there were some comments about it being fine occasionally (such as the child getting Mcdonald's at a birthday party).
They base their some meat once in awhile is ok because there is no fully vegan population in the world. But the healthiest populations are those that eat the least amount of calories from animals. And studies such as the Esselstyn study show that even one dose of the high-fat diet causes the cardic system massive stress.
I eat ALL carnivore. I don't have a fiber problem. I defecate every 3 days like clockwork because what I eat is so fully absorbed, I don't have to expel any unneeded fiber. You don't have to scrub out your colon to go to the bathroom: Your body knows what it's supposed to do without ingesting unneeded fiber. It's another way those that want to make money scare you into worrying about things you don't need to worry about.

I’m giving up dairy due to casein allergy. My ears are plugged and milk just makes me sleepy and depressed. My nose is always running and I have a cough and a lot phlegm. It’s true, we don’t need it. I have always loved all the dairy products so will use soy milk, soy ice cream and soy chocolate milk. I’m not giving up eggs. They have choline and B12. They are my favorite breakfast. I do a water fast 3 to 4 days per week. This brought my weight down from 76.5KG to 60KG three years ago and I have managed to keep the weight off. After 2 days of water fasting, my hunger abates. On non-fasting days, I can eat whatever I want all day with the restriction that I am a vegan.
Just do intermittend fasting - it's how nature would work. Fasting that much every week is putting a lot of stress on your system - sure you will lose weight - you'e malnourished. Losing weight and keeping it down is easy if you stop eating the factory stuff. You don't even need to exercise all that much either - just go for a walk every few days and it will do.
@@KAT-dg6el Yes, but the OP talked about doing this for over a year and that's a bit extreme - supplements or not. Particularly since there are better ways to do it that don't require you to fast half the week

Having met many people in their 90s who have never eaten meat, some being from fifth generations of vegetarian families, I'm a blessed person who saw the results of eating the diet that the LORD gave to man in Eden. It's a mental battle. It's a battle for the mind. When you learn to care more, you find that by taking simple steps you can change. And each change helps you trust for the next one.
If you're going to go biblical, you need to tell the whole story. Because after the flood, Hashem told man he could eat meat provided it was raised and killed the right way. There's nothing wrong with animal protein if it is raised and slaughtered properly. We aren't in Eden. We're in the post Noach world.
@@AbbaKovner-gg9zp we are in the post post edenic world. The practices of raising and slaughtering meat has no resemblance to what the LORD told us on Mount Sainai. And the more "progressive" we get the farther away from the plan for meat eating The LORD gave meat for man to eat because the world was barren and had to replenish the food sources. Now we have many choices and we are blessed to be able to learn why the LORD instructed the way He did because we understand the way our bodies were created. Getting simpler and cleaner in diet would benefit anyone.
You're right it is a mental battle. It is a battle for the mind, like you say. Vegetarians and especially vegans have higher rates of anxiety and depression.
Animals kill and eat other animals trillions of times a day. Often in slow ways, like slowly chewing out the inner organs while the animal is alive, or slowly suffocating prey the way a snake does. Are these animals evil?

Veganism will kill the planet. We need the animals for the soil. It's massive farming and chemicals that are killing the planet. See for yourself the shocking million dollar machines that the animals have been removed for. The trees have been removed so the fifty meter wide span of the machines can spread the toxic chemicals all over the soy, wheat, sugar and corn. It's that we must get rid of. Not to mention all those awful grains they're spraying to manufacture the cooking oils that are no good for man or beast.

Then there's the green house gas effect.

And added sugas! They didn't mention this at all!

"When we focus on "animal protein" we misplace other nutrients" that is so so true. I have definitely noticed that myself over many year's time.

It is possible to do only since much-needed nutrients in animal foods are much more bio-available.

A Harvard study: Association of Animal and Plant Protein Intake With All-Cause and Cause Specific Mortality.
Researchers brought in a large group of people and they looked at the protein they ate and who lived and who died. They controlled for the cholesterol and the fat so they could look just at the effect of the protein. Conclusion: Animal protein is always associated with higher cardiovascular mortality. Plant protein was inversely associated with all cause mortality.
I feel like all these doctors, cardiologists and nutritionists talking about carbs and plant based diets being healthy and animal protein and fat being unhealthy are the same people that take Ancel Keys’ Seven Country Study at face value.

Agreed.
Well my mom’s blocked leg artery reversed on a plant based diet. And I haven’t met any plant based eaters or vegans in the cardiac unit at my hospital. Most of the patients I’ve seen admitted in our cardiac unit, with heart attacks and heart failure certainly love their meat and butter and fat. Just anecdotal.

FOOD HABITS IN LATER LIFE STUDY was undertaken among five cohorts in Japan, Sweden, Greece and Australia. Legumes were found to be the most important dietary predictor of survival in older people of different ethnicities. The results showed that for every 20 grams (one ounce) increase in daily legumes intake there was an 8% reduction in the risk of death. This study shows that no matter what your ethnic background or where you live, eat more legumes to live longer, especially as you age. Of all the food groups including meat, legumes alone had consistent and statistically significant results.
I am an Agrometeorologist. I know the environmental impacts of both livestock and crop production. But using the argument of 'inhumane treatment of animals as a motivation to switch to a plant-based diet doesn't sit well with me.

The truth is that this documentary touched my heart a lot, when I saw the videos that showed animals suffering in slaughterhouses, how bad the consumption of animal products does to the environment as well as to human health, I really could hardly tolerate it. , not in a bad way, but it was something very painful for me, definitely, this documentary made me realize that as soon as I reach the age of majority I will become a vegan, regardless of what others think, 100% recommend this video for people misinformed on the subject 👏🏻

Vegetables and grains have been around for a few thousand years but have been altered only recently. If you love insecticides and herbicides carry on being a vegan.

Well done. But be careful. I tried turning vegan in my teens and made myself quite unwell through eating badly. It was twenty years before I finally transformed again. You are making a great decision. Wishing best of luck.

Look for example into 'The Great Plant-Based Con: Why Eating a Plants-only Diet Won't Improve Your Health Or Save the Planet' - by Jayne Buxton. Tragically, it had been found that there is greater percentage of autism amongst children of vegans&vegetarians.
I'm sorry you became brainwashed by this lying media deception. I was fooled by Veganism before, and thankfully I saved my life by turning to a high fat high protein low carb diet. Sorry it might take you many years of illness to figure this out😅

We have choices and aren’t in the jungle. Mike Hooper not true! My husband ate lots of red meat and chicken and fish and eggs and dairy. He’s always been a very active gym guy and bicycling. He had a heart attack at 48 with clogged artery. 95% clogged. he has a stent in the damaged artery and has been on meds for 12, years. He finally went fully vegan 2 years ago and his tests are great . his vegan doctor wants to take him off a blood thinner. His doctor said Meat, eggs and dairy clogs, fact! It’s also clogged all his doctors patients and My husband’s brothers and others we know that eat animals flesh and eggs and dairy
FYI Beans, seeds, legumes, nuts and tofu have protein and every fruit and vegetable has small amounts that add up
It's funny how everyone here is right but still skipping facts.
Yes you can't survive foraging in the woods easily because most of us lack the skills to do so, meat or fish if available is far more substantial
The lady's husband had a high cholesterol and saturated fat diet not a balanced one which is understandable in the modern context she switched him to an extreme vegan diet.

Agree back to basics getting bit annoyed of the vegan push though all in moderation.
Why are they concentrating on protein? Animal fat is probably more important.
Hahahahahahaha. No.

Lack of essential nutrients: By excluding plant-based foods, a carnivore diet can potentially lead to deficiencies in essential nutrients such as fiber, certain vitamins (like vitamin C), minerals (like potassium), and phytochemicals found in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. These nutrients play crucial roles in maintaining overall health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases.2)
High saturated fat and cholesterol intake: A carnivore diet is typically high in saturated fats and cholesterol, which are primarily found in animal products.

The time is now or it'll never happen
This is a great comedy special. I’ve never laughed so much 😂😂😂
Dis youlook in the mirror?😂😂😂😂
Like considering the supposed over-population myth... Really, are there still those who are as ignorant 😅
However, there are those who are for the first time exposed to PB/vegan propaganda, many of whom might find the presentation compelling and moving; especially youngsters - easy to influence - ripe for the picking...
So true.. it shocked me how many lies I heard all at once, presented as fact. So sad
Yes thought so too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great documentary. Thank you!!
It's so simple when you go keto, you don't have to go into this moderation thing because you don't go hungry on keto. The best part about it is, you lose heaps of fat if you're fat and you don't feel hungry.
Yep. Same with Carnivore. No hunger unless you wait to feel hungry and then you're satisfied after very little meat and fat.
You might feel better at the moment, but the lack of fiber and the protein overload will probably create problems down the line. And a meat-based diet is truly terrible for the environment.
carnivore is the best way to eat, no carbs and no sugar, body feels great and mind is clear. veganism is a scam. terrible for you and the environment
Excellent
@@sarahsnowe no it won’t
Thank you! Live changing film.
This is good. I tried the vegav thing. But u have interviewed all the plant based doctors and none of the ones that agree with meat
That's because they're the only doctors who did research. As they mentioned, most doctors do not get nutrition training. They're supposed to just give prescriptions for pills to treat the diseases that eating meat causes. (not cure it, then they would be out of a job)
Because the doctors that actually have some knowledge about nutrition know that meat is (officially) CARCINOGENIC !!!!!
@@Butterfly-1028 Exactly!!

Local grass fed eggs, meat... for the rest.
Low carb works. Queen Elisabeth II is a great example. Dr. Breg DC has good quality videos on vegan, and animal-based keto. Does not matter that much if you go plant based or animal based. The goal is:
Perennial plant sources of protein, fat and fiber may just be the answer to the climate problem, alongside with the solution named: permaculture...
Pasture raised animals with rotational grazing also help with carbon sequestration...
The big industry does not whant to know this truths, and pays people to say lies, because it is big businesses.
That is a fact that different health plans work different for different people. Comes to the people's phenotype.
The amino acids are only found in raw plant material - and thats where ALL creatures get their "protein".
Most vitamins require saturated fat to be absorbed by the body
@@whiterabit09Exactly. And glutens and various other defence chemicals in plants prevent absorbtion of nutrients.
If you got inflammation try avoiding carb and sugar, You'll see the result your self.
I feel bad for you, for you are as sick as a dog dying right before your very own eyes.
Yes But not the High Carb Plants Rater it's High Protein, High Fat Plants.
They base their some meat once in awhile is ok because there is no fully vegan population in the world. But the healthiest populations are those that eat the least amount of calories from animals. And studies such as the Esselstyn study show that even one dose of the high-fat diet causes the cardic system massive stress.
10000000% agreee with your comment. Man is forever arrogant thinking its pre decessors were wrong. They knew the correct way.
God never intended for us to eat animals if you look back at Genesis in the Bible, that's why many say that we were designed to eat plant based.
Fantastic, fantastic video. I enjoyed watching it. I will be the change that I want to see in the world - in my choices of food. 🌾

I have algae oil instead of fish. I don’t eat nuts or other omega 3. It’s easier to take a capsule daily.
No mention of the data that shows if you’re older, and have higher cholesterol, your risk of all cause mortality goes down. We need cholesterol.
Thanks, great work. I'm adding this to my vegan playlist. Jan
I got my weight from 100 kg to 70kg in just a few months and I don't restrict my diet, nor do I do extended fasting. I just don't eat for 12 to 16 hours a day and then I have a regular meal, freshly cooked from scratch. I cut out all processed stuff, from soda to ketchup (unless homemade). Losing weight and keeping it down is easy if you stop eating the factory stuff. You don't even need to exercise all that much either - just go for a walk every few days and it will do.

Has that made life easier for you?
