Visited Kyoto many times. Greatest city for tourism in Japan. By far & away the best location is Kyoto Station. All the buses to the tourist sites run from the north end of the station. To get to most destinations you need to take the bus as the subway system won't get you there. Bus station to Kansai airport is on the south side of Kyoto Station. One of the 2 local subway lines stops at Kyoto Station and connects to the other subway line at Karasuma Oike. If it is your first visit to Kyoto do not book a hotel anywhere else.
Kyoto can be a little daunting so thank you for giving your recommendations on places to stay. I usually stay over my relatives near Shijo Kawaramachi.
Higashiyama ward covers quite a large area but the western edge borders the busy downtown area. The further east you go from there, the further into the mountains you get into "peace and quiet" territory... so with "higashiyama" there's much variety... HTH !
Hi, my name is Sofie Glattfelder and i wanted to ask if it‘s possible to ask more question about the effects of corona on kyoto. I‘m writing an Analysis about kyoto and it‘s about masstourism and corona. I would be very happy about an response. Best regards Sofie Glattfelder from switzerland :)

Great video…. Thanks
Amazing video, very informative. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this informative video. I heard the higashiyama area closes very early. Not much to do in the evening. Is it correct?

Hi Sofie, feel free to hit me up on FB - facebook.com/cole.prosser
Is Hotel Granvia Kyoto a good place to stay for 3 nights
That's a lovely hotel and there's plenty to do around the station area. The station itself is something of an architectural marvel !
@@colesushi Thanks Cole I will booked that hotel
