Relax and have a good trip like a sample!
Kyoto, which has been the capital for many times, has remained unspoiled each time. The good old days of Japan can still be seen today. Kyoto that people all over the world long for! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love the way you set up your videos! Great pacing and with engaging snippets. you make me excited for my Japan trip in mid may 😌
thank you!
Honestly this vlog is SO pretty!!
This is probably the best Kyoto vlog I've seen. 😍
Ah thank you!
This is such a nice vlog! The trip looked fun. Definitely going to bookmark some of these spots. ✨
Major Kyoto nostalgia from this vlog. Absolutely breathtaking hotel and teppanyaki view! Sugoi 🔥
Thanks for tuning into this one! So happy to hear :) And yes, "sugoi" is Victor's favorite word for everything now haha

As Japanese people, we were happy.
Thank you very much.
Have a good year!

The place I never get tired of visiting.
You and your husband have produced a professional quality video of Kyoto! Thank you. I can only imagine how much effort it took to plan this trip and produce a vlog of your experience. 😊
Amazing tour. Thanks for sharing ❤
Your vlog is one of the best on RUclips! I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for sharing! I laughed out on “not zen at all” part lol
Malebranche has been my favorite cookies shop in Kyoto for over 10 years.. will deffo back to get some during my next visit in May.. nice vid by the way 😊
omg how can you guys be so slim when it seems that all you do is eat and drink? I will look out for those coffee shops next time though as we concentrated more on temples etc (nothing more exciting than collecting those goshuin stamps and calligraphy) . It was summer when we went to the bamboo grove, but misting with rain. It was great because there were hardly any people there then too, and we took some interesting photographs. Also the the actors house at the far end - Okochi-Sanso Villa was lovely. We had a green tea in the tea house with a beautiful open window looking into bamboo groves. It was a delight. I cannot wait to go to Japan again as it is up there with my most favourite destinations. Glad I found your vlog Sam and Victor for in the future, cheers.
Wow- first time to see your channel… so well thought out and the photography is superb. I’ve visited Kyoto at least 15x’s but you gave me some incredible restaurant tips.🎉❤ 🍜
I just want to say this is my favourite Kyoto vlog! ❤️
Thank you!!!
Best kyoto vlog ever ~~
Thank you for visiting Japan. :-)
Past 26 years I’ve been living in another country but I was born and raised in Japan, I truly miss the culture, customs, food, politeness, cleanses and beauty~. I like how you filmed places and objects and edited the video. It takes many hours to make this kind of video. It’s well done, enjoyable and relaxing.
I can’t wait to visit Japan and next time I’d like yo visit Kyoto and Kanazawa. ❤
I'm obsessed with your content it's noon but I can't stop watching TT
Loved this episode. You guys need to get your own tv show or something exploring coffee shops of the world!
Hahaha imagine that. TV show about just trying coffee shops in japan! :O
@@SamandVictor : I just happened to see one of your videos and enjoyed it. I loved the way you spliced it into segments, along w/ amusing but informational snippets, but your choice of using Brazilian/bossa cafe jazz (my fave) truly creates a happy relaxing vibe and is what made me decide to subscribe to your channel… FYI, I’m married to an American Asian who lived/worked in Japan for almost 15 years & your vidz reminded us how much we enjoyed our many road trips & weekend or week’s escapades to various places within Japan… Even though we were almost tecbically “insiders” who resided there, the country is still chockful of surprises waiting to be discovered… As for cafes, there are many to suit all tastes and ages, which are what we loved… and we enjoyed staying in both local & western hotels in Japan, too; so varied in styles, budgets & enjoyed the evening finger food suppers & buffet b’fasts or brunches… loved the rest stops on roadtrips, too… Would like to keep watching your videos from now on.
(oops, spelling error: “technically”; not “tecbically)
Daaang multiple nights at that Park Hyatt. Soooo nice, that's the goals right there 😁
Beautiful footage - like a mini movie :)
Thanks so much!
So therapeutic ❤
really nice vlog... i like how you capture the moments so well. nice editing too. can't wait for my trip in july. subscribed. :0
I can't wait to go later this year.
I am a big fan of your vlog . You guys have such great tastes. Very fashionable and luxurious. I am originally from Japan and had been living in US for over 20 years. I still go back to Japan once a year and travel everywhere inside Japan, but still my favorite place is Kyoto . Can you do more shopping vlog ? Have you ever been to Hiroshima or Shikoku area? Definitely recommend.
Merci pour la ballade 🙏
Around what days/month was this filmed? I'm planning a trip at the end of November so I'm trying to figure out potential weather and leaves colors 🤔 😅 thank you!
you have the prettiest B roll shots! Great storytelling.. i have so much to learn from you!! ❤
Thank you! That means a lot 🫶🏼
Thank you for your video
Oh my gosh, pudding AND ice cream?😍😍😍😍😍😍 heaven
I know! Would get it again in a heartbeat!
your dedication to go to places before sunrise👏🏻
Tbh has gone downhill over the years… 🤣 but made an exception for this side trip
@@SamandVictor haha☺️
Will you do 着物 rent for a day? if you will do don’t forget to wear heatwear & an overcoat!👘
Next time bring vaccum sealed bags with hand pump it will give you more luggage space and allow you to purchase larger plush items. It will shrink and flatten large plush until you open the seal and it will expand back to normal size in a few hours after opening.
Interesting visit.
We like Kiyomizu Dera and Bamboo Forest the most.. 1st time visited in 2013 was very peaceful as not many people….2nd time in 2017 was too crowded
Amazing vlog
Beautiful!
it's really beautiful video.
Your Kyoto is so beautiful ! You deserve more subscribed !!
Woohooo! Thanks a lot :)
what a beautiful vlog😃
Yes!
Like before I even watch cause I already know it's an amazing videos
And definitely want to visit kyoto in fall & never had a chance to visit that starbuck but why don’t you come to kamo river area i want to go there too for next kyoto visit.
I just finished the video and all I want is more 😭 more vibes, more aesthetics, more!
wow really appreciate it!!!
Love love your vlog! Did you use a stabilizer ? The video quality is great
So pretty! Which dates did you go do your visit? I want to have the fall colors too TTwTT
Love your video cinematography and vlogs!! have been subscribed and watching every one !!.... Do you use a phone or a camera for your videography? The videos are perfect!! i;ve tried it for my vacation videos, but would love to use a phone instead of lugging around an SLR. It's also easier to hold when taking videos.
I'm going to be in Kyoto for 1 week in Feb (after 10 days in Tokyo), I'm hoping that's not too long to be there! But we plan on doing day trips to Osaka and Nara some days...what do you think Japan experts @sam and victor? Love you guys 💞
lovely vlog!!! 😍 which week of November you visited Kyoto for the fall foilage?
good adult holiday😊
More good food ... cool
How did the pickled cucumber taste? I was there last week but I didn’t try it 😆 nice vlog- love your editing style. Very chill
Pleasure to watch
Боже как красиво 😍
I am also travelling to Japan for 18 days and would love to have your take on the cities to visit and for how long! ✨
Love your videos! I was wondering that king of ring were you wearing on your left pointing finger? 19:10 mark
Loved your video! You mentioned that you arrived at the tail end of autumn. Curious...what dates where you there + when is the peak autumn season in Kyoto?
We were there nov 30!
@@SamandVictor thanks for letting me know! If I go, think I'll go in mid-November as it looked like you were at the tail end of autumn (though you still got some really good shots). I also really appreciated how informational and honest your video was. You didn't just show everyone a "perfect" trip though instead gave some really great info about the crowds. Curious...were the crowds all over the streets in Gion? Or, were they just at the main temples/shrines?
Did you stay at the Hyatt? Love the place and your room with a view
Please go to Osaka as well 🏯
you vlog is sooo soothing, what time did you arrive at the bamboo forest? it's nice that it's still emptyyy
We went at sunrise!
Wow this Kyoto hotel is awesome but very expensive.
love the videos, thanks a lot ! . is the ticket for kiyomizu dera allow for re-entry ?
I think the day pass is but definitely not for the night illumination- you can see the ticket design is different 😅
lovely video vlog:) what is the font that you use at the beginning ?
Love this vlog! What month did you visit Japan?
November :)
Love your video, and using as reference for upcoming trip. Just curious how did you get to Arashiyama so early in the morning? Was it by taxi or train? Thx
by taxi
Thank you for sharing the video and replying to our question. Wife and I followed you plans for Arashimaya and Arabica coffee. Really enjoyed the tranquility of the forest and the coffee was awesome!! Much appreciated
Love your orange outfit. You really know how to travel in style
Love your video..😮
Thank you!
I am going to Kyoto in Jan. Just wondering if I don't stay in Park Hyatt hotel, can I still go to the restaurant inside Hyatt? Also, do you normally go to places in a taxi or using public transport like bus? I have never been to Japan so I am a bit nervous. Strange thing is I am never nervous in Europe but maybe I worry about the language barrier in Japan.
Hello! Yes I think you can make reservation for Yasaka teppanyaki even if you aren’t a guest. We took both the subway and Uber/taxi. I recommend downloading the Google translate app for real time translation! Helped us a lot
Did the matcha at Starbucks taste different then the one in the states?
Hi!! Beautiful video!! I was just wondering in which month did you guys visit Japan, and was it very cold?
End of November- it was chilly!
Where did you book your tickets to Japan? !
Love this
Are these mostly shot with your vlog camera
Do you use a lut
I had to look up what lut was- but no we don't!
Going there next week. Will also be in Kyoto. I am shocked by the amount of people.
Haha yeah but it was calm and orderly
I’m planning to go in November next year and got a bit shocked to see how many people there are 😮
I know right? Everyone has been dying to go to Japan 😂
What is model of your Olympus film camera? Any link to purchase? Thanks:)
very good
Curious why you don't use the canon camera connect app for your phone to set off the shutter instead?
Ah tbh it’s just very glitchy and doesn’t work at very close distances… so we gave up on it and just used timer
Kyoto is so beautiful. Did you notice the no filming or photos in Gion?
Yes we did! So we didn’t do it there
Hi! Love your video. I am going to Kyoto in a few months and I wanted to know which specific spot are you in for the Arashiyama bamboo forest? Cause on google maps there's a ton of different locations in the same area and I want to go where you have in the video, the very iconic spot :) also, did you take a cab or subway to get there so early? thanks!
I love japan
