Can you imagine when I went to the Bamboo forest it was raining day. So every body was using a umbrella. I nearly lost a eye about every 30 seconds. Loving the slick new haircut rion.
This time I was an hour too late, but I immediatelly watched your newest report on Kyoto. Arashiama - I remember your visiting it on your bike - it was a stunning experience. Nowadays, too crowded and if one is visiting for the first time, it would be wise to use riksha. The nice small traditional toys are so cute and with meaning. The signature place the old wooden bridge is interesting but not that crowded. You have chosen really a nice place for lunch and it seems you liked the meal very much although you have risked the allergy (hopely none occurred according to your Instagram account). As for your new haircut, your dad knows his job for sure - not too short and well permed - it suits you perfectly. No wonder, that you have met so many viewers, some even twice, among so many travelers in Kyoto. The sunset shots at the temple were lovely but the experience of the temple alone in comparison to your earlier videos was not that great due to such a crowd. But the old streets of Kyoto at night are as usually magical, including the famous photospot, reminding me of your filming the sunset there during your stay at the famous hotel (Hyatt??) a year ago. Anyhow, your edited video proves how crowded Kyoto is, which is understandable, for everyone visiting Japan has it in the itinerary. It is obvious that the popular and worldwide well known places will be crowded on and on. Looking forward to your next edited videos, in order to see if it is like that everywhere in Japan. Stay safe healthy and in your best mood for walking. GAAOOOO.....
We stayed in Arashiyama. - a bit off near Matsu-Taisha station. The crowd was overwhelming but still absolutely loved this area of Kyoto. Despite the tourists (me being one of them) Kyoto is one of the greatest, the most beautiful cities I've ever been to. It is truly a heavenly place for anyone interested in Japanese culture. I miss Kyoto and the lovely local people already!
I went to Kyoto as a mid stop between Osaka and Tokyo, the bamboo forest and the shrines were absolutely packed but they were definitely one of my favorite places in Japan for scenery. Osaka is great for food, Kyoto is great for their ancient building styles and shrines, and Tokyo is good for shopping
Love Kyoto! Glad you get a nice terra seat to enjoy your food! Yes bamboo grove super crowded, has to be there before 10 am 😆 So happy to see Kyoto! Love the sky bridge at Kyoto station too! Night time is so much nicer!
We went to Kyoto’s Bamboo Forest a couple of weeks ago. We decided to get the first tram, and to be honest after seeing the people in this video I don’t regret it one bit. We had the forest almost for ourselves and made some beautiful pictures. So, if you can get their first thing in the morning, please do!
I went last week and got there at 730am and the instagram girlies were already posing when I got there. Same thing with the Inari shrine. By around 830/9AM both are already packed.
Yeah, we encountered a similar issue at the Inari Shrine. When we arrived around 8 am, it was already quite crowded. However, once we made our way to the upper part of the shrine, it became more manageable. On the other hand, when we descended around 9 or 10 am, it had become extremely crowded. For the forest, we went around 6 am and were there by 7 am, just before sunset. There were photographers capturing professional shots, but fortunately, we didn't encounter any Instagram influencers.@@MichaelWilliams-np2he
We'll be in Kyoto for a wedding at the end of November so I hope I get to see all of these beautiful sights...we'll probably go early to the bamboo forest though to avoid the crowds
I would love to visit Kyoto someday and see with my own eyes its natural charm. A night walk at the Tokyo station was so fascinating with its illuminated stairs and an observatory overlooking the beautiful Tokyo tower.
I was in Kyoto about 3 weeks ago. I took the rickshaw tour through the bamboo forest, would highly recommend it as you really do beat the tourist crowds with the special path through the forest and get to experience the calm of the forest by yourself. Also the rickshaw driver was great and took lots of photos of the trip and as I took the 1 hour trip we also went out into the countryside a little and saw a few more off the beaten track things.
@jackielic9161 if you head round to to the togetsu kyo bridge area and the main street in arishiyama you'll find the rickshaw drivers standing round basically like a taxi rank. Just go up to one and they'll show you a map with the different route options and prices. Basically the options are a half hour, 1 hour, 1.5 hour etc trip. Pick which one you want and off you go 😁
NIce to see the full video, I had the sneak preview from the instagram stories that day. Indeed crazy crowds. At least you can have a nice peaceful lunch at Kyoto compared to Nara (old-time subscribers know what has happened when RIon is dining there outdoor). Can't wait for the next video.
Just like Tokyo Station, I have to see Kyoto Station, in all its glory, with my own eyes to truly grasp the beauty of its architectural grandeur. 💖 Until then, thank you sharing it with us through your beautiful videos. Looking forward to the Christmas lights! ✨
Hi Rion, your videos has always been so helpful. Its beautifully explains the logistics , the environment and the atmosphere. Very fortunate to be one of your sub. Thank you.
I am visiting Kyoto in late November, early December so I hope the crowds will have gone away by that point. Based on your review, I have decided to try the Kyoto Hyatt Regency hotel. Thank you for this video.
Oh my gosh, this is so crowded, wow! But thanks so much for this video! And wow! You met my friends there! They are so happy that they met you and are such big fans and so happy to be in your video! 😁 also, you definitely got a new follower now, your videos are amazing!
It’s so nice to see your video about Kyoto. It brings me back to my last visit four years ago. I can’t wait to see Japan again this summer and will be there. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏽
We did the same mistake as you, Rion! 😂 When you pointed at that bus stop, I was like.. huh? Did I miss out? We stood at the same bus stop as you and realised something was wrong. Ran to the bus stop across the road because we didn’t wanna miss the bus.
i was at Kyoto on 19 to 21 Oct. i started my journey at Osaka. On 19th, i took a 1 & half hours train at 6.15am from Osaka to Arashiyama Station. Not much people at the bamboo forest at 8am. The next day i went to Kiyomizu temple at 7am and the third morning to Fushimi Inari shrine. In summary, go early as possible it will be less crowded
Aloha Rion great video of Kyoto. I have visited Kyoto a few times and I’m glad I’ve seen most of the sights before it became so crowded. It’s a beautiful city. I just love of when you profess your Christian faith. It saddens me that less than 1% of Japan knows our Lord, God will use you to bring many more. By the way I like your new hairstyle! Keep walking
Kyoto is so beautiful, and the view of the city from the temple was sugoi. I want to visit there one day. Your lunch looked meccha oishi. It's always fun to see you meet your fans on the street. I like your haircut and perm. Your dad is very talented. Arigatougozaimasu, Rion, for this enjoyable video!👍
You speak very good English and we enjoy your channel. We were in Bamboo forest , Sagano train and used Randen to Shijo Omiya too! around the same time as you. 😊❤
I went to Japan in June and felt in love with that amazing country. I just know about your videos and I love that you put the time and prices of almost all the tours It’s incredibly helpfull thanks! I was in Hiroshima, Mijayima, Kyoto, Osaka and Tokio and watching your videos is like been there again. I hope to go back next year, and I want to visit Okinawa. I hope your channel grows a lot and more people meet this lovely country. Muchas gracias desde Mexico. Arigatogosaimazu
I HIGHLY recommend flying to Ishigaki Island. It's a short AND CHEAP 3 hour flight direct from Osaka or Tokyo. It's going to totally knock your socks off (or rubber beach slides to be more accurate, ha!) Definitely add Ishigaki to your next Japanese itinerary. It's not an expensive 4 night addition and worth every single penny. Ishigaki is nothing like mainland Japan so really worth visiting.
7:21 Against the background of green leaves, it looks particularly beautiful and delicate! 8:30 sanpo in the beautiful Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and enjoy the sunshine! 9:21 The cute rilakkuma set is great👏. 9:35 The various things in this store are very exquisite and are the best choice for souvenirs😍. 13:04 👍I like your hairstyle, it looks great. 👏 . 13:30 2580JPY Kyoto food, the meals are pretty good😋👍, aiya! Poor Rion is allergic to white fish! One thing Rion does well is to ask the driver before getting on the bus😎👍. 26:41 The beautiful location of Kiyomizu Temple provides spectacular views😍👏, 32:10 Kyoto Tower at beautiful night😍! Thank you so much for Rion’s Kyoto edited video, let us feel the strong historical atmosphere of Kyoto and Kyoto is now crowded and there are more and more tourists🤝!
Visited the same places last year and this video just recalled my memories. Arashiyama and Kiyomizu are so beautiful places, especially during red leave season. Just feel like now doubles the number of people compare with last year. I think around a month later during the red leave peak season should be even more crowded.
wow soooo many people, i feel lucky i was able to be in Kyoto 13 yrs ago and enjoyed it tremendously , no stress , no rush, less noise.hope you'll be able to do an update on Kanazawa -crab season lol!
ahh the memories are all coming back...was just there 4 weeks ago...only regret is was drinking coffee..so i was afraid to eat...coffee is a laxitive...so i regret not eating the burgers at the burger place and the desserts at the place right outside the station......
i was in osaka and kyoto last week, very overcrowded in the tourist spots. Last time I did Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka was in 2003. Very very different. In Tokyo now, back then to find the foriegners you would need to go to Roppongi, now they are everywhere.

The Kiyomizu Temple was very crowded because of Gion festival that weekend. Now from your videos I know what I had been missing, that means I need to visit them again! Hopefully soon. Oh yes, there is a really nice Snoopy store when I visited the golden pavilion.
Hi Rion. Your videos have been really helpful on my current trip to Japan. I just arrived in Osaka last week, and will be going to Kyoto & Arashiyama on Wed. So this video came out just in time. Thank you! 🦁
Ooo no the crowded. I'll going to Japan in the mid of November, I can't imagine how crowded it be 🫣 Btw, u look nice with straight or perm hair, but if u ask me wich one I like the most? I prefer the straight one with just a little perm 🥰. Big love from Indonesia, Rion 😊
Thank you for your videos! I love Kyōto so much! I was there in September and this is the best time for me! Such a great city and you can go to so many cities there…Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Himeji and so on. The people there are very kind, despite the tons and tons of tourists there. Together with Sapporo…my favorite cities! 🍀🇯🇵👍🏻👍🏻
When i went to bamboo forrest during peak autumn always go around 6am if you can because around 7am group tours and tourist will start arriving..few people will be der already …i highly recommend to stay in kyoto if you want to go to arashiyama bamboo forest..it only tkaes 30 mintes but if ur staying osaka the earliest time you will arrive is 7am .believe me by thta time a lot of people will be der around that time…been der 2 times laready
Thanks for sharing the update, Rion. Oh wow, so many people... I'm going to Kyoto next Thursday and I'm sure there will be a lot of people everywhere.... looks like more people than when I was there in early June.
OMG I am going to kyoto next week and the amount of people is insane in kyoto even on weekdays 😅 i guess i need to wake up at 3am or 4am if i want actual quiet and no people for photograph lol...
Rion-san! thank you so much for exploring Kyoto for us! I hope when I visit Japan I can meet you on the street as well! Btw, I’m loving your new hairstyle 🤩
Looks like a great day in Kyoto! The first video of yours I ever watched was the videos you did in Kyoto during COVID! I was watching so many videos about Kyoto during the first lockdown, so RUclips suggested your videos. It must have been so awesome being there with no tourists! When I go to Kyoto, I try to start very early in the morning to beat the crowds, or I try to go off the beaten path to places that are not well known to tourists. Anyways, keep gaooooooooing Rion!
23:13, October 13, 2018 at 5.00P.M. we took a photo in that very spot! The tree had more leaves on it though. We ate some of the best chestnuts from a little shop there. Thank you Rion for literally taking us down memory lane 😊
Sooo nice to see you again here in Kyoto.... last time you were here, I watched you and I think you were riding a motorcycle in Arashiyama.. and you were able to have the Kiyomizu Temple all to yourself! I hope I get to experience that as well. Also, if you're in Tokyo this November, I hope I get the chance to see you around. Cheers from the Philippines, Rion! :)
I wish I had found your channel as we were starting our research for our trip to Japan in 2 weeks time - I guess we will have to try to cram it in and adjust our schedules. Really enjoy your videos - hope we will run into you as well 🙏🏽
Hi Rion, i hope you can show us how to ride a taxi from Kyoto Station to Kiyomizu-dera main gate. Thank you. learning so much from your videos. See you in Japan this November :)
Love the video! With the Autumn craziness in Kyoto fast approaching which one would you choose to avoid the crowds and get the best sights? An early morning trip to Arashiyama or an early morning trip to Kiyomizu Temple?
Can you imagine when I went to the Bamboo forest it was raining day. So every body was using a umbrella. I nearly lost a eye about every 30 seconds. Loving the slick new haircut rion.

Happy birthday 🎂
Wow I’m gonna miss autumn 🍂
So many people Everywhere in the World 🌎 😮 🤙🏼💚🏵️. Bamboo is my favorite material.
I was in Osaka/Kyoto for the first week of September and it was PACKED. Like more insane than the video. So jealous it doesn't look as busy.
It comes the day Rion wears a t-shirt with ‚Do not disturb!‘ 😂
I visited Arashiyama in May this year. I so missed that place now. I will re-visit again next year.
Have to go early in the morning to beat the crowd at all these sights, including Fushimi Inari

25:00 It's funny I was thinking about the same thing when you mentioned the admission price. Must be making nice, steady $ with all the tourists

Grrrrrarrr❤ beautiful bamboo forest and wow Kyoto station at night. I love to watch you eat. Delicious. So many fans. Love u, bye.
Thanks for this video Rion ! I was in Kyoto and visited Arashiyama and passed by Kiyomizu Temple.
I took about less than 50 steps and turned back for Arashiyama because it was late afternoon or nearing evening during a few months ago July and I needed to visit somewhere else. The Kiyomizu Temple was very crowded because of Gion festival that weekend. Now from your videos I know what I had been missing, that means I need to visit them again!
Hopefully soon. Oh yes, there is a really nice Snoopy store when I visited the golden pavilion.

When I go to Kyoto, I try to start very early in the morning to beat the crowds, or I try to go off the beaten path to places that are not well known to tourists. Anyways, keep gaooooooooing Rion!
J'arrive .
Your hair looks great!
Nice video of Kyoto! Hopefully you get to get on sagano train during cherry blossom!

Greetings from Atlanta! Been loving your videos, Rion!
Thank you for your advice!
I will be traveling there alone in 2 weeks, so afraid of getting lost lol.
Hi Rion! I’m a new subscriber. Great videos! Kyoto looks amazing! 😊
I wish I had found your channel as we were starting our research for our trip to Japan in 2 weeks time - I guess we will have to try to cram it in and adjust our schedules. Really enjoy your videos - hope we will run into you as well 🙏🏽
Thank you for video ❤
Hi Rion, i hope you can show us how to ride a taxi from Kyoto Station to Kiyomizu-dera main gate. Thank you. learning so much from your videos. See you in Japan this November :)
Love the video! With the Autumn craziness in Kyoto fast approaching which one would you choose to avoid the crowds and get the best sights? An early morning trip to Arashiyama or an early morning trip to Kiyomizu Temple?
