Thanks as always for all of your heart-felt comments. I read and appreciate them all. Your support means a lot! ❤️I've actually uploaded three videos before this one since September, but for some reason, RUclips didn't send out notifications for those, so many of my subscribers see this as the first video I have posted since my hiatus. If you weren't notified of those, here are the links in case you are interested: Abandoned Italianate House of Axed Doors: ruclips.net/video/3Mg3fOwVbSQ/видео.html TikiTrex Original "Frozen in Time" | Abandoned ruclips.net/video/3aqJrUpC38U/видео.html Doomed and Abandoned Ontario Manor ruclips.net/video/vx0zJpw_AF8/видео.html
So happy to see that you did not stop and just took a break. I have enjoyed many of you videos. Are you using a gimbal now and new equipment ? the video quality seems much improved now or at least good enough compared to what it used to be. Anyway there seems to be a lot of abandoned stuff to explore in Canada.
The reason these "renovations" fail is they were not being done properly. I can tell these people started on the inside first, then saw the mold building up and quit. Always start on the outside. Make sure the house is water tight to prevent mold. New roof, new window seals, caulking, etc. Once that is complete then you start on the inside.
Thats what I was thinking, the "ive got a damp house lets fill it with raw pine" not their finest hour, getting double glazing and central heating would have done wonders for it!
The room at around the 12 min mark has original (old) wainscoting. You can tell it's the thick stuff, and it's varnished with the old shellac (same as the staircase). It's also not buckled since it was probably nailed down really well to some wooden bracing in behind. I suspect that the hole in the floor was for a second "servant's staircase" leading to the kitchen or one of the less formal first floor rooms. Also the faux wood grain designs on the doors is something I tend to see more often from houses around 1880-1900, so with this one being 1909, it's a trend that was already starting to be a bit old fashioned when the house was built. This was a lovely house.
Yeah, the wainscotting is lovely. You can see that the knotty pine strips were simply glued on, which is probably why they're coming off so soon lol. Although glue isn't all bad, it seems not to be the proper way to affix wood.
Beautiful property and house. Love the woodwork around the doors and windows on the first floor, and the wood doors upstairs. Wouldn't take much to fix this charming house to be livable again. Hopefully someone will.
Hi Jim! Thanks for the warm welcome and awesome comment! I've actually been back a few months now but for some reason, RUclips didn't send notifications to many of my subscribers of my newest 3 videos I've uploaded since September 2018.
I saw this video in the recommendations and almost fell out of my chair! So glad you are back🤗 I had an intuition that if I waited and didn't unsubscribe, you would be back. What a treat!!
What a beautiful house! So much hard work put into it and now it's empty. If it had been my house, I would have done drywall. All that pine would drive me nuts!
I'm soooooo happy to see a video of yours!!!!! You do such an excellent job at showing everything and explaining what you see and think. Please please please keep up the excellent job and NEVER stop making videos. I'm a fan of yours for life😃😃😃😃
I am always amazed at the items people leave behind. It is a beautiful house with lots of nice land. Thanks Tiki for another great explore, thoroughly enjoy your videos. Take care.
Welcome back , its been a while , wow , thats sad to see such a cool old house left like that , looks like someone spent a lot of time effort and money trying to save it , enjoyed this , going on what you showed us i think that there is something badly wrong with the building , keep up the good work ,
I just found your videos about 3 weeks ago, wishing I did years ago. But everything about them is so calming, your voice, movements, just everything’s so relaxing to watch and listen to, unlike most abandoned videos people make, you always have respect for the place your exploring❤️
Hello Tiki, so glad you put up another video! I wish you could visit us more often, we miss you.Loved the old woodwork in this house. To bad they weren't able to finish renovating. Please don't be a stranger, hope to see you again soon .😃

It looks like someone tried to save this one, but mold is as sure as taxes. Thanks Lady for another great explore!

And it seems the wet basement needed to be dealt with before proceeding with the interior, too.
I recall this explore from a long time ago!! I remember every single one. My favorite one was the cat lady house. : )
