We are incredibly moved, Jared, and feel great pride in hearing what our patch means to you and your family. Wishing you all our best-and know this song is being played on repeat by our associates, from Michigan to Kentucky to Tennessee.
Greetings from Mannheim, Germany, former Benjamin Franklin Village, Coleman, Sullivan, Funari, Taylor, Turley, Spinelli Brks., I miss the life with the U.S.ARMY PEOPLE,great memories, I was born in 1961 and raised in Mannheim.
You don't know how many people are going to be moved by this song.I was out fencing with my dad when I was 14 when he had a massive heart attack and died he was only 40. I'm 59 now. I wore his old hunting coat until it went missing one day.my mom didn't know I wore it and eventually donated it. I still have his old pipe, but can't smell the tobacco anymore.
This is absolutely beautiful and touching. I’m so sorry for the loss of your father. He sounds like he was an amazing man. My great uncle Bill just passed Sunday due to brain and lung cancer. He was an old cowboy who loved his hunting, fishing, truck and his family. He was incredibly talented with his guitar and singing in his own little country band. He was 77. Almost everything in this song reminds me of my sweet uncle. Thank you so much for this. I’m sharing it with my entire family right now and it’s touching all of their hearts before we say goodbye to him this Sunday. Now I have something to listen to when I’m thinking about him. I miss him dearly.
My older brother passed away about 12 years ago now….He loved his well worn Carhartt jacket…which I have now..and anytime I wear it now good memories flood my heart…I feel like I’m taking care of it for him🙂
Thank you for writing this song. My husband lost his uncle who raised him this past summer and he always wore a Carhartt coat, which we now have. I played this for him today and it really touched his heart - he even picked his guitar back up today.
I still have my dad. I still hang out with him. When that time comes I will completely fall apart. I'm gonna be a grown ass man crying and throwing a fit like a five year old.
This song hits home. Reminds me of my late father in law who we lost last March to Brain cancer. When the weather would break of chilly he'd always be wearing that ole Carhartt and would smoke Pall Mall cigarettes. Man meant the world to me. I hope one day my boy will be able to put on that coat and be able to get the feelings that this song endures.
Oh my, hard to type through tears! I am blessed to still have my Diddy (yep Diddy) around but this song suits him. He has to pull his zipper up with a pair of pliers but he won't get rid of it. I have lots of wonderful memories of him rabbit hunting, chopping wood, and playing in the snow with his Carhart Coat!! Thank you for this touching song💕
Jared, was a real pleasure to see you play this beautiful song live last Saturday evening in Springfield. Very moving tribute to your dad. We look forward to seeing you play again soon!

I told my doctor I was allergic to this song. He didn't believe me. So I played it for him and I'll be damned, his eyes swelled up watery too.
