loved the video. would love more of a guide (instead of diary), so I could learn how the class works better, and work to improve and learn to play it. Struggling to figure out how to put it together.
Stygian Coal unique makes it so that you fire lasers at enemies while Drain Life is active. Normally, Drain Life is a channeled skill, but there's a node in the specialization tree that makes it a cast that lasts for a duration instead. Build has you casting Drain Life every few seconds while you dash around firing lasers at everything. Best part of the build is that it poisons enemies a lot so even if you don't kill them with your lasers, they will die to the poison soon after you move onto the next pack of enemies. Rinse and repeat. It seems complicated, but it's not nearly as complicated as other stuff going on in Last Epoch.
i found this build too and eventually discarded the idea turning the lasers into poison. i made it all necro beamer MG lich and pushed easily to 300 corruption while stacking cast speed and dmg stacking an using rip blood to maintain mana
excellent content. I am playing so many builds, and find sometimes I experiment and change things, so a diary adn incomplete build plan is just fine with me.But I am a little hesitant in using a build that maybe depends no a bug. oh well.
I've been messing around with this build for a little bit now and I've found that this build seems to shine when it is built more with- on hit damage- rather that DoT damage. if you inspect stygian beams it does not state that they are damage over time ability. So Wrong Warp would be a better pick up than ladle imo, especially with how monoliths work where you gotta blast.
I've seen wrong warp be used for chaos bolts more often. Most folk are just stacking near or over poison cap on this build (999) so I'm wondering how they compare in clear / single target.
I see, well definitely try and test out a more on hit effect especially with how easily you can make stygian crit with the lich class in might be a better option, however it does come down to play style. The way I found this build works for me and the gear I've acquired is going heavy into crit/ spell damage and becoming BeamLord so I can Frieza Snipe everything to death.
@@toddakam6131 can i get your build planner? I wanna try hit damage base tree because poison have some delay with life leech... That's really stressful
I've been cooking up a laser acolyte build myself too and even at lvl 44 with only 2 of the 10 uniques i'm oneshotting stuff, if you want i can send you a build planner link but it's incredibly unrealistic as it's a crazy BIS build but the skills and passives are all well distributed i believe, it's a ward build though but that's what the unique seems to be aiming at too :P
I would swap drain life for hungering souls in the poison version. More synergy less buttons and the mana problem dissappears. Also don't use exploits 😅. Other than that there is lots of great insight thanks for the breakdowns. I get the drainlife is the pew pew but I prefer less visual and sound clutter so it works for me. Love poison lich because of the cooler color palette and subtle screen effects. It is very clean.
I have had this build in the works for awhile, but the coal being bugged prevented me from doing so until I seen the fixed it in a patch. Stygian beam only scales with spell and necrotic, is there any confirmation the conversion to poison allows poison scaling as well? From Reddit before the patch, it was stated the beams did NOT convert to poison. There was no note about it in the patch notes, so was it just secretly changed or?
Lots of folk do enjoy level progression but honestly I'm still feeling the build out, this is my first time playing an Acolyte so I'm not even sure what is best to level. What I can say is that if you just use wandering spirits and Rip blood you will get very far.
I just got my Stigan Coal and have been trying this build out, its super fun! Was wondering, is there any reason why we spec into poison? Does it just scale better than Necrotic DoT
mad alchemist's laddle's more spell damage only affect on Hit damage of laser and no affect on poison damage applyed by laser. i recomand ornate wand, crystal wand or argent sceptre with good roll
Turns out the dagger would be better than those but somebody did the math in the ladle, there seems to be some kind of (possibly bugged) interaction with the stygian coal. So assuming I would have to move away from it Ill prob go dagger for the poison stacks or the bases you mentioned yeah
I have been using a similar build for a while and mad alchemist just destroys everything. Even with slightly less spell DMG the debuffs applied almost instantly to all enemies is worth it.
I hope you'll still be willing to reply after all this time, but is there a purpose to all that mana besides not running out? Does something in the build scale with mana? I have a 4lp ladel and im seriously considering this build. Thanks in advance

How are you cursing enemies to proc Spiteful Decay and Soul Stealer in Warlock? The only source I can see is Haunting on reaper, which is only 5% chance on hit, and only while in reaper form.

A Short Question about this build. I try 2 build this and improve it a lil bit, whats the Point for wandering spirits exactly? Is it only for more dmg or did i miss some sort of synergies? But i must say i really enjoy this build, if i find better synergies or better spells i share it with u. @WolfsGoRawr
I can answer this one! Mana!!!! The spirits provide mana, allowing more/longer drain life. You can technically shoots beams forever with spirits, as since drain life does NOT lose the channelling tag with the shackles node, the game still thinks its a channel. Thus, as long as beams are going, the spirits will ALWAYS be spawning. This is apparently a confirmed bug, but it was also reported in 0.84, so I am kinda hard pressed to think they wouldn't have changed it if its not wad.
This right here I saw an amazing hungering Souls warlock that uses the golem pet that looks VERY fun and has everything I want in a build but the person never stressed tested it so who knows how far it'll get
