Besides the magnificence of the organ itself, I'm very impressed with the mike or mikes on your phone. They actually do a very good job of recording an almost impossible instrument to record. Thank you!!

Beautifully done, and to think, that barely 20% of the instrument was usable at that point in time

Fast forward to 2023, and around 62% now playable. Slowly but surely getting to 100%!

There was some discussion about this piece re: the M-L several years ago. Apparently, the organ snobs would rather cut off their left hand than play it - one of the public's most beloved pieces of music. Their snobbery is one of the reasons the organ is so little recognized as an important instrument any more. My opinion then and now is that they better wise up or the organ is only going to be heard in churches and occasionally in concert halls. And as expensive as pipe organs are to build and maintain, they will be the first to go. If keeping Poseidon alive requires an organist to occasionally play "Chopsticks," then so be it - do what the public wants or lose the instrument forever. I think the M-L could be an ideal vehicle to help bring the pipe organ back to the masses. Its size and power, its immense palette of tonal colors, its situation inside a general entertainment space rather than a religious or symphonic space - all these qualities will definitely work in its favor. If pipe organs are going to survive, they must make money or they will die out like dinosaurs. Once again, these are my opinions, and if the relatively tiny size of the organ world doesn't wise up - and soon - their precious instruments will be lost forever.

Michael Herring Well you must find a organist that will play properly on this great beast and help show off what a amazing instrument it is!

I think, this is not optimal in Sound and Acoustic for Bachs polyphonic music. Come to Germany and hear old silbermann and Schnitger organs, the sound Bach made his music for. I think it's much more greater for the French symphonic music. The great works from Vierne or Widor.... Or try the big complex pieces from Max Reger. That's great stuff. I don't know, but it seems for me, that Reger is not so well known in the US? The fantasy and fugue about B. A. C. H. from Reger is a gigantic tremendous piece for organ.... But Attention! Regers music is not easy listening stuff.... 😄

You can invite Winfried Bönig, he is organist at cologne cathedral, one of the biggest cathedrals in the world with enormous acoustic. He will know, how to play in great rooms...

If you plan on recording it again, I'd ask you put your camera or phone on a stand far away from everyone else.
