ATTENTION: I apologize but due to COVID19 travel restrictions and Boardwalk Hall being closed this September (2019), I am unable to record or upload any new videos this year. I'm heartbroken but that's the way it is.
Videos of and about the Midmer-Losh pipe organ in Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ - the world's largest pipe organ. Magnificent sound and it's not even 50% restored yet!

Nick and Carl took me to dinner last night at my favorite seafood restaurant, then on a tour of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic church in Atlantic City. They showed me around, I took a ton of photos, then Nick demonstrated the organ and sang for me at my request. I was so touched - this evening was really special and I will always cherish the memory and this video. My sincere thanks to Carl ...

Here's a little clip of that experience. Video clip filmed on my Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus cell phone by myself, and I apologize that I wasn't very steady this year. 20190918 145139

Here is the full noon recital by Glenn Rodgers on the mighty Midmer-Losh Pipe Organ in Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ on 9-21-2018. The largest musical instrument on Earth playing at about 50%! Unfortunately there is an obnoxious cipher during NIMROD which thankfully resolved after a bit. I decided to leave the piece in the video because Glenn's performance was just too fabulous to miss! Video tour of the right stage chamber relay room on Sept 18, 2018. There are no descriptions in the video, just my breathing and a shout-out to Carl at the end. Maybe next year, because I need one of the organ guys to accompany me and they were all busy while I went off on my own. I have to say that a lot of what you see I've begun to understand, but there's still a great deal of equipment in t...

Besides the magnificence of the organ itself, I'm very impressed with the mike or mikes on your phone. They actually do a very good job of recording an almost impossible instrument to record. Thank you!!
Boardwalk Hall is a beautiful arena and the organ there is amazing!
A master piece of engineering
22:33 nice cough; ya douche bag.
22:42 you sound like you wanted to puke.... nice work ya fucking douchebag.
Hi!
Atta boy, standing to face the flag 🇺🇸
Wow! It’s amazing the sound this organ can put out! Especially with it in the state of restoration! I hope to hear this in person some day. Keep up the wonderful work. ❤
I hope so too!
Wow! That organ can put out some sound. I hope to hear it in person since day. Great concert! (The cipher was a nice touch.) 😅
If I were an American for once I would be proud 😮
For once I congratulate the Americans instead of going to War with every country in the world they built an Organ of gigantic proportions and of super quality at enormous expense! Over 32,000 pipes imagine the amount of labour involved 😮.
Massive
Dayam.
Michael, just caught how effective the trems really are!
that low note in the start rattle my laptop !
How many people on average show up for the shows?
about 20-30
God Bless America. Freedom is so great.
Thanks Mark for the great pipe organ music.
Wonderful music.
Beautiful.
Thank you Marc for the great music.
Wonderful music.
Beautiful Mark.
Great organ playing Marc.
What song is playing at 1:36? It reminds me of the opening theme from Spaceballs ruclips.net/video/woNHtpc5Hbo/видео.html
Does anybody know what the jolly piece at 16:30 is?
"The Washington Post" by J. P. Sousa. One of the viewers mentions it in the comments
@@michaelherring1944 Thanks!
How beautiful.
It really is!
Suddenly it's Easter Sunday 1958. I'm in the 8th grade at St. Nick's and sitting with my classmates. The Church is packed to overflowing, and everyone is wearing their Sunday best in anticipation of the Boardwalk after Mass. Mr. Fiacone is playing the organ surrounded by the choir, and the beautiful voice of Ann Ricci echoes through the pews. Memories that will last a lifetime.
Tremendous
As usual with this performer and also with this organ, a stunning and transcending experience.
Couldn't agree more!
Lush early 20th-century American pipe organ strings so rich they can make you weep-with joy.
Magnificent job! Unbelievably lush strings (work #2, excerpt from Rogers & Hammerstein’s “Carousel.”)
I love the first piece how the use of the 64ft Dulzian is made to be the primary stop used. Love the deep richness of the tones it produces wish I could hear it in person. Maybe one day
Bravo!
Gorgeous selections.
Great sound, but wind is still "starving" under load.
I wish you people would read the descriptions before you dog the M-L. This video is from 4 years ago. Wind is no longer "starving" under load now in the year 2021. Geez!
What hymn was he playing
Panis angelicus
The Nimrod variation from Variations on an Original Theme by Sir Edward Elgar is beautiful. Much better by orchestra.
@michael Herring: wow, Scott REALLY opened her up this time! I just found this one, again, great work.
It's on my 'bucket list' to go and hear this organ - and hopefully sit right where the camera is - I'd die a happy man :-)
Anyone know where I can get this arrangement of Autumn in Ny? It is my favorite!
The first song, Flor Peeters was alive to have heard this organ, sure hope he heard this song on it.
3:52 - I can only describe this as what it would sound like if the sky opened up and there were archangels playing trumpets.
I notice that the video does not seem to match the audio. No organist at the console during the songs. I am assuming this is just because a steadier shot could be had at a different time. :0) This particular concert is one of the best I have listened to. Danny Boy about made me bawl my head off. I am writing this comment before I have even heard the National Anthem. Can't wait to hear it.
He's there, you just can't see him.
Scratching my head . . .
@@michaelherring1944 I agree.
This is perhaps the best concert in this recorded series. I stood up and half-sang, half-bawled the National Anthem!
Rudy said he used just about everything at the end, the whole building was shaking lol.
Rudy, nice job. First song, really good low end.
The Grand Organ gives this song it's proper credence and provision.

You'll NEVER walk alone, John. Wherever you go my Spirit and my very heart goes with you. Every second of every day. I LOVE YOU ❤️ That annoying, ever present buzzing.... yep. That's me! 😅
