Debussy was influenced by the french organ school. The shift of registers and careful use of timbres in his music is amazing
Hallo!
So wonderful delightful and More,
Jonathan in the blue jacket very nice! Well done B and B (Beautiful Brothers) .
With Love from the Netherlands ❤❤.
So beautiful. Always makes me tear up; just from the evocative feeling it gives me.
So many colours and nuances. Thanks, Jonathan, that was fantastic 🎉
Beautiful! Thank you.
Very beautiful performance🍃
Incredible !!
Oh yes….
!
Even the organ pipes appear to have closed their eyes to reflect upon & enjoy this inspired performance of one of the most captivating musical pieces ever written. Bravo. Stunning video, Tom. Thank you both for sharing such beauty. 🌕💐💐🎹🎶
What a perfect metaphor! 😊
@@mayday6916 Thank you! 😌🎹🎶
Wonderful performance. Your gift for registration is truly remarkable. I loved every minute of the recital at Ludlow. A very special evening.
Jonathan, your timing is impeccable. The Super/Blue moon put on quite a show last week, and I'm still experiencing the cool, calm and peaceful side-effects . I don't know if it is me, or what, but it even seemed to sparkle while I gazed up at it. I'm typing this message while I'm listening to you play Debussy's masterpiece and falling in love all over again. Thank you Scott Bros. xx
Magnificent - all the colors of that organ, used masterfully in this performance. Thank you SO much!
Thanks my Dear Brothers !
Thanks Jonathan. No words to discribe the magic you conjured up with this beautiful melody so masterfully orchestrated.
Thanks you both for not failing to share wonderful music and videos.❣❣
What a lovely interpretation and excellent registrations Jonathan. Tom's video blended well as always and liked the atmospheric vision of the moon as the music came to it's gentle conclusion. Thank you both.
A beautiful piece, a beautiful organ, and a superb organist. Jonathan, you are the best. I hope that there are upcoming organists that you can mentor for our future generations.
Absolutely beautiful! This was my late grandmother's favorite song and I learned to play it for her years ago. We had her funeral last week and this was one of the songs we played to remember her by. Thank you for sharing your talent.
So delighted to say that we were there to hear this beautiful piece played with so much feeling by Jonathan. Totally awesome concert in an amazing church. Thank you Jonathan & Tom.
L'insieme risulta davvero bellissimo.
Simply wonderful. I'm glad Tom put up the image of the huge moon. Very romantic music for a late Sunday. Thank you so much Jonathan and Tom ✨🌔✨🎶❤️🥰😍🙌
Fantastisch. Großartiger Musiker!
So sensitively adapted for the organ and beautifully played.
Oh Jonathan, that was/is SO beautiful! I COULD have got to your recital in Ludlow last night, but it just didn't work out - so very disappointed. I WILL get to one, one day. You are so inspiring & uplifting! Thank you, and thank you Tom too.
The registration for this wonderful music with all its very fine nuances is very skilfully done for this organ by Jonathan. The sound stays very silky and the smooth volume changes very well performed with the swell and stops.
This beautiful piece, recorded only two days after the very rare occurrence of an amazing sight in the heavens, a 'Super Blue Moon', (Super= closest to the earth, and Blue= 2 full moons in one calendar month) which will not occur again until 2037, may well combine to underline the rarity of the talent which produced it, with the ethereal wonder of this celestial body. Dreamy!!

I love this even more than the original, thank you so much, the organ is such a powerful instrument.
Wonderful - a very difficult piece to perform on an organ. The emotions perfectly captured!
What could I possibly add to all the appreciative comments already made (and in a more articulate manner!) on the sounds and sights of this beautiful video? I was at Jonathan’s concert at St Laurence’s two years ago so happy memories here of that occasion. Thanks to you both yet again 😊
Amazing 💕
That's what I think I hear when you cross the threshold into heaven.
An Absolutely perfect Performance.
Absolutely fantastic Jonathan!😁👏👏👏
Absolutely Beautiful Jonathon! I was gifted this piece in High School from a Dear Friend to play on my piano! That was the BEST rendition I have ever heard! Thank you for bringing back a Wonderful memory of my yesteryears! You Truly touched my heart! Absolutely Magnificent! BLESS YOU ALWAYS! ✌️ ☮️ 🎹
Beautiful and delicate as moonlight! Thank you both for this magnificent video!
My god this version is beautiful, i have been listening to the one where both of you were playing it on piano and organ yet this one is somehow even more beautiful. Really amazing work.
One of the most beautiful musical pieces ever composed! No matter what instrument it is played on, a beautiful piece of music sounds beautiful! Your performance was the first time I heard this piece played on a pipe organ. It was both beautiful and wonderful to listen to. Best regards, Will Ortiz
Thank you Jonathan and Tom. Great to hear this again. I was at your wonderful concert last Saturday. It was amazing!
Wow that's beautiful! 👏👏👏
First to view!
Fantastic video!
Gorgeous!! xx
I once asked my Grandmother who her favorite composer was. She answered, "DeBussey." No hesitation. My Dad used to play this on the piano.
Perfect. The registrations were beautiful.
So incredibly beautiful! What an awesome and masterful interpretation. Thank you Jonathan and Tom! ❤
Truly beautiful; makes up for not being able to be at your concert on Saturday!Thank you both.
LOVE
Forgot to add: the blue jacket looks impecably taylored Jonathan!!
I love how you change to different sounds (I don't know what it's called on an organ) during the repetitions of the melody. Fantastic adaptation and arrangement! You play with soul and heart. ❤❤❤❤❤
So beautiful. You touched my heart and made it happy on a sad evening. Thank you for this lovely performance.
The descending sequence at the end of the middle section is amazing, like the orchestral versions, full of power!
Absolutely fantastic. So sad that I couldn't make the concert. Will a full video of the Ludlow event be published?
How it feels to be enlightened.
Aside from the excellent playing as usual, props to the videographer for the lovely visual treat. What lens was used on the camera? Love the bloomy feel
A beautiful performance on a wonderful organ.
Thanks Scottsbrothers : )
❤
Oh my, the sound is so sumptuous & elegant, I had to replay it with the volume turned up.
Great music and amazing player !
Just beautiful! Nice arrangement.
This is so warm and comforting - like a kiss on the cheek.
Excellent music to meditate and concentrate
Beautiful! Thank you Jonathan and Tom.
Fantastic love song
Such a romantic shot of the moon, Tom. xx
Lovely
What impresses me about the organ is that you use 4 limbs to play a song that takes an entire orchestra on an instrument that is its own building
Amazing! Talented registration and attention to detail. Although in the reprise, the high notes are a tad too pianissimo.
Always finish on the bach, never debussy.
so beautiful.
Stunningly beautiful
AMAZING ❤❤❤
Absolutely ethereal
Debussy's music is depressive sounding.
Well done : ) Made it to Anaheim Los Angeles
Wonderful performance mister Jonathan I applaud you!!!!!
HOME RUN!
made my evening
superbe
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
❤
Does the word "baroque" mean anything anymore?
Oh creating such musical beauty and so peaceful. Totally love your pipe organ playing,
Absolutely beautiful. 🥰
Lovely artsy photography but where, oh where is the organ located within the church?
It’s in the North Transept, a bit tucked away
I hate transcriptions. Clair de lune was not broken so it didn’t need fixing!
Clair de Lune was written for the piano and that’s exactly the way it should remain.
I recorded one of the best performances of Claire de Lune on my album “Pure & Simply Paul”. Done on piano, original score. Even I found this beautiful and magical. Treasure all artistic expressions and beautiful things will happen for you.
Why did you listen then if you hate transcriptions?
J.S. Bach transcribed some of Vivaldi's music for organ. I always figure if Bach, one of the greatest composers ever, is ok with transcriptions, who are we to say it's wrong?
