You two are simply outstanding ambassadors of keyboard music, especially the church organ. Thank you so much; every video is a huge joy to watch. Thank you!
What an absolutely delightful way to spend 20 minutes. Vielen Dank! You have a lovely, friendly manner, an unapologetic way with puns and of course your musicianship is outstanding. I heard Jonathan being interviewed on Radio 3 and really enjoyed his Prom début. I do hope to hear/see you live one day! My favourite bit of the video? Well, not only the amazing reverb, but also the disciplined way the audience waited for the reverb to fade before clapping, so that you could really appreciate it. Wunderbar!
You two crack me up!!! Wonderful vlog - I have to admit Munster, err Munich was my favourite organ too. Love what you do so much. Thank you for brightening my day!! xx
Yes I liked Munster too. Zimbelstern is such a wonderful new term and to have 2 of them??!!So enjoy your vlogs. Love the running jokes like local pigeon, trying multiple doors before getting in to the church, Are you coming to the concert?Wurst? Thank you both so much.❤
When I went to England to attend Jonathan's RAH Proms recital, I stayed an extra week to go to the Brother's piano duet concert at Rochdale. The concerts were, of course, amazing! Vivaldi's Summer arranged for piano four hands was exceptionally well done and fun. But the reason I'm recounting this here is that I got a chance to speak to them after the concert. For the record to those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting them in person, I am happy to report that Jonathan and Tom are both as amiable, genuine, and funny as they appear to be in the videos. Anyways, the point I'm trying to get to is that I said to Tom I hope he finds good local pigeons. He was quite happy about that and told it to Jonathan, and the latter replied to the effect of Tom has a good ones coming up. I'm assuming the pigeons in this video were the good ones, and I will say that they are indeed good pigeons! 😆
A musical adventure it was. And lots of humor by Tom. These organs featured were great. It's amazing that of all the pipe organs no two are the same, but yet every one has beautiful sound. Thanks for sharing the beauty of these organs, your talents, and your brotherly love.
I am amazed at the versatility of the two of you, in particular Jonathan, who adapts your scores and also masters the operational part of all the organs he plays. This facility is incredible. Perhaps what drives him is the fact that he really enjoys challenges. Congratulations to the two challenging organ musicians and wonderful images/sounds.🙌👍🥰
Seriously these trip vlogs are both great fun, interesting (at an uptempo speed - Tom) and educational. And we get to hear some great instruments AND Jonathan doing what he does the best......well you too Tom. But we've also heard Tom play piano too so there's that!! LOL!! I love watching these things from the comfort of my armchair and enjoying what playing we get to hear. Love that you gave me a snippet of The Sunken Cathedral in that church with the wonderful chamade and tubular bells. Has to be one of many of my favorite pieces you play. STILL waiting for you to discover and play a reduction of Dupre's Poeme Heroique - playing in the brass on the organ unless you choose to hire a brass section to play along!! HAHA!! These aren't the concert videos so we never hear a great deal - but it's impetus to just go and listen to the longer concert videos or the full organ pieces you record and have on your channel. By the way that mini-Kleis organ is nice. Would be a nice one if one had a big room with tall ceilings at home. I WISH!! AND I LOVE the Royal Albert Hall instrument. I'm sooo happy I bought the sampled MIDI virtual instrument library of that great organ. Not the complete thing - I mean how could they anyway - but it was the Covid effort by that wonderful guy who did the work to get it done during those days. And I bought it - GREAT price for a WIDE variety of the stops and while not a full thing - again how could they - but a nice overall representation from subtle and sweet to powerful and commanding. GREAT organ. I always wonder though WHY they opted for 9,999 pipes and not just ONE more tiny pipe for a full 10K? Seems like someone's joke. Still one of my faves. Personally yours is a favorite channel indeed. Keep up the great work on these and I'm sure the masses will keep watching - including me. Oh and another my favorite pieces (thank you) - the St. Saens - I long to learn that piece someday. Sigh. Cheers mates.

The two of you make RUclips so very worthwhile! I love the travel vlogs, and this is a great one. Every church and organ(s) was an exciting experience. I was impressed with the small Klais organ at St. Lambert's. A big sound for a relatively small instrument. Frauenkirche had to be my favorite tho' it's a difficult choice to make. Thank you so very much for sharing your journey but most of all your inestimable talents with us!
Well, my favorite place was the Andechser Brauhaus in Munich, where I had a little chat with you after your great concert. I wanted to make a little scene for the Vlog, but sadly my last train to Austria was very early departing... Thank you for this special experience, hopefully see you soon and keep on the great work! ;)
What fun. Muchen is one of my favorites, I've been there several times, but I'm always missing you two no matter where I go. .I'm beginning to call all the pigeons I see "local" now. Thanks XX
Another great tour lads, with some fantastic organs, facts and gags!! Glad to see Saint-Saëns only played on all the best instruments 😉. Hope to catch up soon. Best Jonathan
Almost exactly 30 years ago, in 1994, I attended the inaugural concert of the Munich Cathedral organ. The cathedral was packed with around 10,000 people standing shoulder to shoulder. Prof. Franz Lehrndorfer improvised the entire concert on “his” new organ. He was known for his magnificent improvisations. What an evening that was!
Greetings from Boise, Idaho! What a marvelous musical tour you give us! Well Done, Jonathan and Tom! Keep up the great work!
Wonderful, I remember visiting the Cathedral in Munich some years ago, unfortunately there was no music playing , magnificent organs so skilfully played, many thanks Jonathan and Tom.

The Organs in the Munich Cathedral are the Opus Magnum of the late bavarian organ builder Georg Jann, who died in 2019. He and the former Cathedral organist Prof. Franz Lehrndorfer (+2013) developed the Concept for the four new organs in the Cathedral and then convinced the cathedral chapter to commission the new building of the Cathedral organs in 1994. Although Georg Jann represented more traditionel neo-baroque sound concepts, he also took French and English Elements into account early on. This gives the large organ a richness of Sound and Power….
Thanks for this information. The organs certainly sound magnificent and the acoustic in the cathedral is amazing although at times I imagine it must be hard for the organist to take account of. Jonathan and Tom did record some works on the organs and I'm very much looking forward to watching and listening to them.
@@epincion The Reverb of 11-12 seconds is for a „empty“ Cathedral. The reverb of the late gothic Cathedral with Full congregation is down to 5-7 seconds. Nevertheless, accompanying congregational singing is definitely a demanding affair. For less attended services, the “small” choir organ (III/36) to the right of the altar is used.
I don’t know why but I keep missing your concerts by 1 week. The prom, Munster and Munich this year alone. Will try for the Bridgewater Hall and hope for the best!
