What is the purpose of running the checklist when you haven't completed half the items on it?

Thx for your comment(s). I made these little instructional videos always with minimal effort. Basically I made it a rule to only use my Iphone + sometimes a Ramm mount and a cable stereo mic. I did not want to go to deep into setting up to much technology in the cockpit, because, you know, my main job was to fly the airplane safely. I know that this comes with a lot of compromises in sound and also picture quality unfortunately. In a way, this is the best that was possible under the circumstances ... I appreciate all the nice feedback, such as yours, very much

Hey your tip on the Fms helped alot but I'm still having some issues with shooting ILS approaches . This video helped somewhat but I still have a few questions. When approaching my initial fix to begin the ILS, do I need to switch from the FMS as the primary source of navigation to VOR1 of VOR2? Secondly at what point do I activate the Approach mode? Can you please give me an explanation on how to do this correctly? Thanks in advance?
