They are NOT friends because Dave was insulting them and the movie while infront of the camera, instead of making the guys and movie look good. If you look at 6:53, Mathew tried to shorten the embarrassing interview by sabotage. He tried knocking the pizza to the ground, but since Dave caught the box, this made Mathew even more pissed off as you can see his facial expression. They all dislike Dave for insulting them.

Hugh Grant exuded Oxford sophistication and refinement, such an aristocratic bearing. As he says “10, most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten in my life,” oozing irony, seems like he’s counting the seconds till he can get back to Lutece and lobster thermidor and caviar. He seems genuinely debased to be eating pizza on camera. And frankly, it’s a huge part of his charm.
