    Nice revue thanks. I find the 5ghz works better generally as there is way less interference on that frequency spectrum in built up areas. On farms I find that 2.4ghz works good too but somehow 5ghz is almost always better to a point.

    I've made some changes and I can pick up the signal 134 meters from home, if you leave the house and move away are 300 meters, the signal is weak but can detect.
    had the 110 but I changed it for 225 because it has 5 ghz, forgot to mention that you can manage by the app on mobile.

    Mr. JK Chavez.
    Does temperature affect a TP-Link EAP225 outdoor access point?

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  Год назад +1

      Hi, yes hot temperatures affects devices, but this is an outdoor access point that has a good enclosure so you don't need to worry about the sun, and another is, it only accommodates wireless devices while the main router is the one processing traffic, so the router is usually the hotter one.

    Should I get TP-Link EAP225-Outdoor, TP-Link EAP225-Wall V2, or TP-Link EAP225 V3 ? and what're the differences between them?
    My case is simple, need a range of 30 meters with covering a full speed of download/upload of 100mbps. So, which unit should I get for this case?

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  Год назад +1

      Hi Hisham, as for these devices they are actually very different, the wall v2 or v3 is intended for indoor usage, i have not tested them yet so i really cant comment, if your intention is to use the eap225-outdoor for indoor use, it is a big no, it does not handle wall penetration so well.
      if your range is 30 meters outdoor or line of sight, the eap225 outdoor will be great..

    • @JKChavez

      Hi Karen, this eap225 works best outside or within line of sight.. not very ideal for indoor use, but for indoor there are a lot of options like asus wifi router which can be set as an AP or router mode.. :) if you are looking for one, check the tplink ax23 or the ASUS ax53u..

    super test

  • @ysueadams1330
    @ysueadams1330 Год назад +11

    Nicely done review, I'm going to dispute the results. Under normal situations 5 Ghz is going get considerable better throughput than 2.4 Ghz close to the transmitter, however the drastic difference close to the unit holds up red flags. The 2.4 Ghz just didn't compare 5 Ghz reasonably with expectations. I'd use signal analyzing software to check channel loading, bled over channels and interference and also make sure your phone did not switch to cell data service is turned off for the test. IMHO
    On further review I ran across this tech sheet information and have to admit it changes my opinion "...provides stable wireless coverage up to 200m plus range at 2.4GHz and 300m plus at 5GHz in outdoor settings." We live in a changing world in more than one way, of coarse remembering these are open field conditions. So, now I have to give this a A+ review rating. By revealing truly unexpected results.
    Again a good review with what most of us wanted to see.

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  Год назад +4

      Hi Sue, thanks for the feedback, yes the difference of 2.4ghz and 5ghz just infront of the eap225 does not do justice, i forgot to show the wifi analyzer, but i have mentioned it on the eap110 review that on the actual test, there are farther locations that gives me better speed compared shorter distance, have mentioned that the reason is there is a lot of wifi interference from my neighbors wifi.. But still my bad on this video that did not to include it..
      I really appreciate this kind of feedback will keep on improving doing this kind of test..
      Thanks..

    For a relatively larger house, do u recommend standalone APs like EAP-110, 225, or regular all-in-one routers like TP-Link Archer C80

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  10 месяцев назад

      For a house (indoor), this is not ideal it may give a great range outdoor but not indoor, it does not penetrate walls so well. for indoor, there are indoors AP, or archer c80 might do even though i have not tested that one yet. If you really like tplink i would suggest the ax23 that they offer.

    Can this EAP225-Outdoor mesh with the EAP610-Outdoor? And if so, would the addition of more EAP devices continue to improve speeds?

    • @JKChavez
      @JKChavez  Год назад

      Hi Lucy, i have not tested the eap610 yet, but i believe the mesh should work between those two models because both are under omada series..
      for the improvement of speed, it will be the same, one of the reasons that you put multiple AP is to have a wider coverage... and maybe we can still say improve speed in a certain area, because for example if you are far from an access point, the speed degrades significantly, so the best option is to put another access point on that location and have better speed compare on connecting to the other one..

      Hi sir, 360/omni directional po si eap225, na try ko po kahit left and right, kaya lang dun sa left and right part po namin around 15 to 20 meters ko lang na try since maraming barrier involve kaya d ako makalayo.. Unlike dun sa harap ng house..
      Pero may beamforming technology po sya, kaya pag sobrang layo ng connected sa isang lugar ung other side medyo hindi ganun kalayo kasi ung beam or signal nya nag aadjust para dun sa pinakamalayo kung sinu mas una nag connect..

      for me i use dhcp pero naka reserve ung IP address na makukuha ng AP from main router.
      ang kagandahan ng multiple ssid names is madali mong ma identify kung saan sila naka connect, problem is dapat ung tao need mag connect sa multiple SSID mo para kahit lumipat sila ng pwesto okay lang, ang kagandahan naman ng same ssid is isang ssid name lang sila mag connect and kahit saang area sila pumunta auto connect.

      Hi, marami pong option sa gusto mo para isang internet plan lang binabayaran.. the cheapest and best solution would be lan cable from house 1 to house two, kung kaya kahit patong lang sa bubong papuntang kabilang bahay..
      second option would be wireless bridge mas mahal pero okay pa din lalo na pag more than 100 meters yung layo ng bahay.. may video po ako nun ruijie wireless bridge, nangyayari is may sender sa house 1, then ung other device is receiver sa kabilang bahay, then lan cable papuntang router para may internet na din sa kabilang bahay..
      another option is mas mura kaysa sa option 2, pero more than half ang lost mo sa actual internet speed.. main house pwedeng maglagay ng access poing like tplink eap225 or 110, then sa other house repeater can be xiaomi, tenda or any repeater, kaya lang sa labas ng house sya naka kabit like balcony or terrace and dapat line of sight from the eap225\110..
