It is always nice to see a park putting in a new dark ride...while I like coasters , I am a dark ride guy and probably one of the main reasons I still put up with Disney and its bs and terrible crowds!
I just rode this ride today at 7pm. I work in the food department for Sodexo Live who is partnered with Funtown. Our management was able to let all of the employees ride this attraction early for the first time. It is safe to say that it this is a ride that contains vivid decorations and even a brief story to it as well. It will be open to the public in a few days from now. I hope you all enjoy it!
@@CanobieCoaster I guess it depends. In regular amusement parks it feels like the great coasters are usually better than the dark rides that are offered- but like at Disney or universal I feel like the very elite dark rides are better than the most elite coasters anywhere. If that makes sense
I was JUST going to comment on one of your other videos to ask you your thoughts about this news haha. What a great announcement, huh? It'll definitely draw more people to Funspot this upcoming season. Personally, I'm not too too fond of interactive rides, but I'm glad Maine is finally getting a dark ride. That'll bring the total number of dark rides in New England to 5 now.
I got to ride it twice yesterday! It is short, but super fun. And very well done. Some of the effects are approaching Disney quality. And the pre-show animatronic is spectacular for a local amusement park.
I loved the old haunted house. The staff really put the scare level over the top as a kid back then. Especially a trip through at night when they would have torches at the entrance.
This will be a nice addition but you can’t beat the old Haunted Mansion with the human interactive experience. That was a blast and the guys did a great job with it.
Really reminds me of Duel at Alton Towers. That was an interactive Haunted House ride, which used to be a ghost train (which was regarded as the best non Disney ghost train) Duel shut this year, and there's been speculation of the ride either being entirely gutted or being reverted back to its former glory as 'The Haunted House'. Would be a shame as its theeming is very unique and charming and it's a very important ride in the parks history. Wish the park cared more about it :/ What would you want to happen to Alton Towers interactive dark ride? Back to its original 1992 form, or a new dark ride? Here's a video on what it looked like. ruclips.net/video/_71b0KCHoe0/видео.html Sorry for going off topic, back to the video, The Haunted Hotel looks really promising. Really hope the dark ride is of good quality and doesn't Try to be too modern with screens and projections. What's wrong with props and animatronics?
@@CanobieCoaster It's got great sets and props, if only other UK enthusiasts would see it like that instead of wanting all the scenes stripped out for a trackless dark ride.
While o dknt like the name of dimension x, this is cool to see happen. Plus hopefully there are a few tricks up it’s sleeve to give funtown more brownie points

It's a nice change of pace from thrills.
I'm glad you made a video about it. There is not much information about this ride and I was curious
You're welcome!

That's awesome to hear that it's opening soon and that it is a great ride!
I like dark rides more than roller coasters so this really entices me to travel north soon (I also need to get to Iowa)
I prefer coasters, but I like dark rides too.

I hope this addition pays off for them.

Glad it finally opened!
@CanobieCoaster I didn't see any sign of the Nebulaz at Canobie yesterday however.

Looks like I may need to go back to Maine soon!
I'm fortunate I live nearby.

Looking forward to this opening.
I can't wait to see this!
Me too.

I really liked Duel when I rode it in 2017. Lots of good sets.

Cool.
Yes
As a Mainer, I'm super excited for this! When are you going to get up here to see it, and do you ever do meetups?
Sometime this summer. I don't know if this will be ready for opening day right now.

I hope it has a lot of reride value.
Does anyone have any progress on this ride?
I do not unfortunately.
@@CanobieCoaster When do you think it will open?
It looked to be still under construction when I visited 7/9/23.
@@cdp986 Have they at least started construction?
I work there as a rid supervisor and they are very close to opening, with in the next cupel of weeks

Halloween is a great holiday.
Completely disappointing, in my opinion.
I wasn't disappointed.
