I honestly can not tell you how many projects I've ended up with extra loops at the end of row 1. YOU MEAN TO TELL ME ALL I HAD TO DO IS CUT THAT ISH OFF?!? Why is this such a tightly held secret in the chet community?!? My dear.... You are an absolute crochet SORCERESS in my book for showing me that utter yarn magic of cutting that off and it just works!? SIGH..... I could've saved many sleepless nights and shedded tears over thinking I had to pull out all 245 or however many stitches cuz I had a few pesky extras at the end. And sad part is.... Usually I had no clue where the extras came from. Started thinking I was just damned by the yarn gods or something. THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH YOU ROCKSTAR!!!! new sub here on this alone.

Your comment makes me so happy!
It’s wild, but I’ve only learned this trick in the last 5 years. It does make a HUGE difference in working on projects with extremely long chains.
Nobody wants to recount that! Haha!
Thank you for subscribing. I hope you find more project you enjoy on my channel.

This pattern is so much easier to get started if you make a base of all single crotchets in all chain stiches working in increments of 8 plus two chains. Pluss, it looks so much nicer to have that bit of an edge.

I always do my start chains this way. Regardless of the pattern, I make a chain as long as I need it plus some extra's, then just unpick the chains I don't use. It eliminates having to count as you chain. Learned this from J's Knit and Pearl Jam channel and it changed by crochet life.

Hello! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed this tutorial and want to make your long time friend a blanket. That is going to be a fun project.
I like to use worsted weight or DK weight yarn for this blanket and then you can use any hook you are comfortable with once you choose your yarn. Typically with that yarn I will use a 4.5mm, 5mm or 5.5mm.
For a nice sized blanket I would suggest 1800-2500 yards.
I like to pick a yarn I can just buy more of. This way if you want it bigger you can just grab a few more skeins.
Thank you for watching and commenting!

Actually I can say that.I’ll say it again, You can chain the length you need for your project in this pattern and once you get to the last single crochet you can cut off the extra chain.
This makes it easy to be creative and helps when you don’t want to count 100’s of chains.

It depends on your yarn, you can use any yarn for this. Make a chain as long as you like then just cut the extra off like i show in the video. Most scarves are around 8-12” wide depending on material.
