Get Joseph his own show. He totally deserves it.
I second the motion.
He’s on the popular tv show Mayans
he should be a character on “on my block”
Check out the book "G Dawg and the Homies". Joseph Lucero works alongside Fr Greg Boyle helping gangsters get, and stay out of the criminal life.
The book is really excellent and talks about how Joseph works alongside Fr Boyle, in a group called "Homeboy Industries". Truly wonderful people.
I like that idea, completely agree with you

Because his family is from the suburbs and so is he

His parents were so embarrassed while he rapping. I love how Joseph didn't judge him at all but encouraged him for something good.

That poor kid has so much pain and anger in his heart, you can see it. Needs mentorship.
I hope he is doing ok, he didn’t expect the applause for his awesome rap

Everyone making fun of him rapping should stfu because that guy just empowered that kid as cringey as it looked and lifted him up a bit - that’s what great mentors/teachers do with kids who are struggling.
Well said. Whether you could rap professionally right now isn't the point, who knows if he be one day?
Mary Valentyne he did good rapping ‘his thing”
Agree 100%. Even if I got mixed feelings for that kid, I just love the look on his face when he get positive attention for something creative (not destructive) he just did. You gotta start where you are with who you are and what you got, not just forcing a kid to drop his attitude.

I wish Joseph was my school counselor
Exactly. Imagine if his parents tried listening to his lyrics instead of judging the music itself. The lyrics will show them how he's feeling and they'd probably be able to do something to help. But instead, they just sat there with the most embarrassing and disappointing looks.
When it looked like he was gonna tear up at the beginning it was just cuz he felt like someone understood his pain for the first time

Hopefully he will. Not everyone does.
@Retired Ronda Lousey fr...remember those 2 girls that changed after this show...they couldn't recognize themselves...hopefully the same goes for this kid
@Retired Ronda Lousey You're retired, someone else gotta do it.
true. he is looking for direction. and his parents aren't relating . i know the feeling
@Retired Ronda Lousey wrong
What's great about Joseph is that he has the ability to immediately home in on what's important to each individual. "You like music? You got sixteen? Gimme sixteen." It might take months for a therapist or counselor to get to that point, but Joseph cuts to it in mere seconds. This guy is real.
That former gang members always makes me tear up a little. He is just so full of hope and will to live. You can hear it in his voice.
Cuz thru all the darkness you finally happy to be a alive and the willingness to live rather than die for your set comes to reality. When it’s all said and done those homies you had are either dead or in prison.

This man is literally the physical example of hope,he gives more knowledge and understanding to these kids than any of their family
What I love about seeing this kid rap is that he really does love music, you can see it, he was nervous but the more he got into it you could see him start to light up. He was telling his story, true music lovers know that music tells a story. Your life story, or maybe just a story about something that happened one day, it's a part of you that you're able to share with the world in your own creative way and people love it.
Every rapper has a story just most of them are insecure and or scared to be judged by in the industry

yeah, cause i know it was only like at 16 months or whatever, but cancer is real, most the other little bad kids havent really been through anything at all like this kid has

Mr PapaGeorgio so all males go to a gang member life or death phase. Totally makes sense. 🤨
I like that Dr. Phil brings Joseph onto the show for troubled teens, he can relate to them and speak to them without them feeling like they’re talking to a school principal.
Yea, that's why I like Joseph so much. Of course, his main goal is to discourage people from the life they're currently living, but unlike a principal, he gives them a reason to keep going on top of that instead of just discouraging and leaving it like that.
Props to that kid he spit them bars no holding back Respect 💯!
I like how getto this kid thinks he is... Did you see his parents house? He lives in a mansion.

Like many people on "the streets" I guess.
There's a difference between ghetto and gangster. This kid thought he was gangster not ghetto

Billy Calhoun That is a really ignorant statement. If you were to ask the hippie generation what pushed them in that direction to begin with I bet a lot would have something to say about how they were raised by very strict parents. Does that mean we can go back on your statement and blame a generation of strict parents who probably defined them selves as god fearing red blooded Americans.... Now more than ever it’s become more obvious that children do need a structured environment as well as emotional guidance...

Such a beautiful soul to reach out to these Youngsters and get on their level to speak that knowledge that will always stick with them 👊🏽👊🏽💪🏽💪🏽
People aren't even acknowledging that this youngster is genuine & respectful! He simply has to mentally and spiritually evolve past a damaging mindset. Who doesn't at some point?
