RANGING WITH MILS (MILLIRADIAN) USING THE VORTEX SOLO RT RETICLE | EP#40

- In this segment of our video we are going to learn how to calculate our target distance in Mils by utilizing the reticle inside the Vortex Solo RT. Ranging or estimating the distance of our target is extremely significant not only to match the ballistics of the ammunition that we are using but also to dial the correct DOPE (Data On Previous Engagement) in our rifle in order to hit the target.

Excellent review excellent, simple and concise thanks a lot.
Thank you.
for that deer example, that was 3 mil right ? why 4 mil?
Hello.. if you count the lines from belly to shoulder it is 4 mils. (you have to add the mark where the line crosses as well).
@@apolakaiarmory I was wondering the same thing and while I know nothing about using the mil-rad reticle... but why was the target at 5:45 only 2.5 mils? Shouldn't the sarting line which is the center in this occasion be counted? If not and what he said about the target is correct, by that logic If the deer belly had been at the center mil instead it would only been "3" mils. Again I don't know anything about it and just trying to understand.
US life is so complicatred - all You need to do is multiply size in meters with 1000 and divide by mils. So if an object is 1 m high and is 4 mils on reticle - it is 1*1000/4=250 m simple!
