    Nice comporisson and I share the love for monoculkars. I also do some birdin/wildlife spotting, some tactical stuff etc. and love how smal they are. With the binoculars I have I often asked myself "will I really sude them today?' because of the extra weight I had to carry with me. The moneculars I always take with me, because they are so light and small. I have the Solo RT, but you got me interested in the Recce now ;) Would you say the focus ring on the recce is smoother than on the Solo? That is my only downside of the Solo RT...the focus ring is quite hard to move, so if you have to change focus quick, it is a bit of a pain in the *ss.

    For the 15x power, is the image shaky and hard to look at for long? I want a monocular with a giant objective but the 15 power, made that mistake on some Leica bios. Looking for image stabilization in a monocular but haven't found it.

    • @christopherrowley7506
      @christopherrowley7506 Год назад

      For hunting binos out west, most people think 12x too shaky for handheld use and opt for 10x. And 15x binos are used almost exclusively on tripods. I don't think a monocular would have any reason to fair better than the binos, and I noticed in the video at 6:55 that he indeed had his mono 15x on a tripod.

      Tip - if buying sturdy Tripod, get the 4x leg-sectioned & buy Carbon fibre..Manfrotto.

    What are the major differences between the the solo rt and recce? Is the glass better? Build quality? I just want to know if the price difference would be worth it or not. I plan to practice range estimation often, want clear glass for observation and will bring this out hiking/field/edc. What would you recommend and why specifically?

    • @kunaiguywot
      @kunaiguywot 3 года назад +1

      I will second this question. They seem nearly identical, so why the price difference?

    • @cogniconso
      @cogniconso 2 года назад +8

      Solo - made in China vs Recce - made in Japan. Recce has better glass, and even with the small reduction in objective size, you get markedly better color, clarity, and definition. The Recce also has attached lense covers, and furthermore, better build quality.

    Don't understand why anyone would get the Reece at $300 when the Solo R/T has a bigger objective lens and the same magnification and ranging reticle for half the price?

    • @miravox
      @miravox 3 года назад

      The Solo is a wee bit lighter, to boot.

    • @justinkim943
      @justinkim943 2 года назад

      I'm looking at the Reece after ordering (and returning the Solo R/T). It comes down to design details and use case. One thing to note for my situation is that I am left handed. The Solo R/T's clip is located on the segment that houses the reticle itself (and is set up for right-handed use so the clip is located on the left side). So when I rotate that element so the clip doesnt get in my way (clip is now located on the right side) the reticle marks are now upside down in my field of view. For the regular Solos (the x36 series, the x25 does not have a clip design element) the clip is attached to the body itself and is not rotatable. What I'm curious about the Reece is that the clip is designed to be at the bottom. I'm curious about the lower objective lens size (I don't think I"ll see too much difference between x32 and x36). And I am also interested to see how the different focus knob design will feel in use. Also add in lens cap designs and the Reece seems to be hitting all my marks (except for budget...)

    • @caseyf2453
      @caseyf2453 2 года назад +1

      It has better glass clarity. According to Vortex, The Reece is made in Japan and has glass equivalent to their Viper line while the Solo is made in China and has glass equivalent to their Crossfire line
