      @libshastra Год назад +13

      WTH, there are limits to blindly praising someone.
      End of Zamindars, land reforms, linguistic states was not a result of Nehru. Heck he was very reluctant against those reforms. All of those reforms came as a result of grassroot movements. He ruined the IAS (ICS) with his diktats and rampant nationalization after 1955.
      He was the founder of IIT, AIIMS and IIM. However, Nehru was already dead when ISRO was founded (1969, Nehru died in 1962). He cracked down on Freedom of Speech, he whipped his party to pass Article 19(a). Incidentally, the BJP's spiritual founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Ambedkar were staunchy against it. Election Commission was not his brainchild, it was a combined genuises of the Constituent Assembly. All the Liberal values you claim to cherish, was a result of Ambedkar - Nehru was against the passage of Hindu Code Bill (which itself was a compromise from UCC).

    Pandit nehru, possibly the greatest PM our country has ever had...not only did he fight for the freedom of our nation during the British Raj, but helped India develop in its most crucial time. The BJP has often tried to defame him...but to defame a man like him, one must reach his level.

    It is interesting to know, that if there was not this Commonwealth membership, India wouldn't have been playing cricket on the world stage. Though the main objective was to gain economic benefits, the Commonwealth membership lifted the Indian Cricket from isolation to one of the biggest cricketing forces.

I will also urge Future PM of INdia to stress on Machli, Mutton and Mangal sutra so that topic of importance is not brought up, because Indian people even after 70 years from now will like Mangal sutra and mutton machli topics.
