I think there’s a magic in seeing someone play through a game or series that you have before. Their naivety, their genuine first-time reactions. It takes you back in time to your own experiences, and it really does help to make you fall in love with it all over again as you remember what it was that you liked about it in the first place.
Ok, that final battle was really tense to watch! And it was one of the truest expressions of "You don’t get to be Champion of the Pokemon League without knowing how to spam Full Restores!" Congrats on winning!

It's amazing how big of a difference the older gens made with their "cool factor" fan service. Watching her get psyched about teaming up with Lance in a double battle is EXACTLY how the game developers wanted you to feel.
I used Chikortia in my Soul Silver Hardcore Nuzlocke. Lima Bean did amazing work with Dual Screens and Light Clay. But she died to Clair’s Kingdra getting a lucky crit. Long live Lima Bean! Keep up the excellent work, you avenged the fallen!
Honestly I really love how pure her reactions are and makes me wonder how I felt when first playing these games myself. Her team wasn't that bad actually and that final fight looked absolutely amazing and probably really stressful too. Its also really refreshing too see someone knew play these games and succeed rather than the know it alls who take it to a extreme level of strategy which isn't fun to watch this but this was incredible

Nothing beats Heart and Soul. The music for elite four and that finish was incredible. I've had lance completely decimate my nuzlocke on a full party, so watching Tarny survive on her last mon was brilliant
Taryn loosing everyone but Dimple only to find out that was around half the game rather than all of it is pretty funny, can't wait to see how that ends up going.
I also loved that your pokemon walk with you in this gen; that being said your gf would probably enjoy pokemon amie (x/y) or camping in sword and shield, she also may enjoy the mounts and the ability to speak to your pokemon in Legends: Arceus
I've played pokémon For more than half of my life (18) and did many nuzlocke and challenges but seeing someone playing for the first time made me more happy than dozens of them. It's such a good experience😊
I'm a 26 year old man now and I still felt a pang in my heart at remembering how only in HG&SS can your Pokemon walk behind you. I am always a massive fan of the cool, creepy, alien, and eldritch horror Pokemon and those kind of elements worked into the story, but at the same time I will always just want to shower my Pokemon with love like my actual pets, be it a Haxorus, a Deoxys, a Starly, or a Pikachu. (Except for very specific Pokemon like Stunfisk, cause screw that useless fish 💀💀). Hell, there are Pokemon that are basically living objects like Metagross and Klingklang and super spooky Pokemon like Spiritomb and Gengar that I would treat probably no different than my old pet geckos
I usually watch this while doing something else, but I could NOT look away from that final battle. The editing was an exercise in perfect tension building. Loved it!

Tarny's pokemon playthroughs always have me at the edge of my seat! I'm always rooting for her, it kind of makes me want to boot up my old games again...
this is great, and her happiness to seeing all the callbacks was so nostalgic and fun. i wish more games had direct sequels with the callbacks and even battles with old faces. my dream pokemon game would make them all interconnected and have the ability to get all the badges, battle all the old legends but realistically this will be the closest we ever get to that.
A delight to watch, you can't help falling in love with those lil pixels. I grew up in the Gen1 era where the cool(rich) kids would use a 2nd gameboy to self-trade to finish the dex and we all swam that one special coast to getx99 item glitches. As an adult I tried to dive back in and got absolutely bodied in Gen8 and spent an hour on the wiki trying to understand why typing was now a big deal and oh god, actual skill and strategy is now required. Looking forward to part 2: Dimple's Revenge?
