The Vertically Challenged glitch remnids me of the when I made New Super Mario Bros. Wii levels with a level editor.
If you added a Koopaling into a level it wouldn't move or attack you until you hit it.
In order to make the Koopaling act normally you would have to add a "Boss Controller".
I think the same can happen with New Super Mario Bros. U but I haven't tried it yet.

Smm2 Idea: The ability to choose many different backgrounds, tile sets, and music as a type of level editor. That way you can make volcano as underground tile set in castle, beach as desert + jungle, etc

4:14 You can't really call this a glitch. When you hit a block from underneath, its collision-box also moves upwards. And when you’re hitting it from below, it’s collision-box goes downwards. Since you’re on the ? Block while it’s lowered, you can go under the semisolid.
