  • Dr. Michael Greger discusses his newest book, "How Not to Age," that was published on December 5, 2023. The term “anti-aging” should be reserved for interventions that target one or more of the established aging mechanisms. Nonpharmacological means to target these Hallmarks of Aging will be discussed, common denominators of the diets and lifestyles of healthy, long-lived populations teased out, and dietary approaches will be explored to preserve bladder, brain, and bowel function as we age, along with bone and muscle mass, as well as tips to combat skin aging and vasomotor symptoms of menopause.

Even though I read "How Not to Age" I love to hear Dr. Greger speak. He has a way with words making important information humerous at times.

I think he is hard to listen to. That up and down, high and low. Yeech. Rather read.

@@ddb12345 There's an easy fix for that. Listen to someone else talk.

I’ve seen so many How Not To Age presentations pop up on RUclips lately, I don’t know how Dr. Greger keeps up! Really appreciate his hard work - and the fact that he puts so much of this information out there totally FREE! Of course I bought the book so I can read all of it and use it as a great reference, but again - he donates 100 percent of the profits from his book sales too. He’s improved my life drastically! Thanks Dr. Greger!

I know that you give this talk multiple times but please don't slur your words or talk too fast for those of us listening for the first time. may be an early version could be the polished version for RUclips watchers. Thank you for all the work you and your helpers do, i appreciate it very much. I also make sure that my library always gets a copy of your books.

Dr. Greger was in a different time zone that was 5 hours ahead of where Dr. Barnett was. He may have been tired/sleepy.

I would recommend just watching it at a slower speed. I watch at ×1.5 speed and can still understand him...but there is the option to go the other way and slow it down.

Really appreciate how hard Dr. Greger must be working. Over and beyond probably. I hope he's alright and gets some rest. Excellent information as always. Dr Greger leads and others follows but damm I knew I should have stocked up on Wheatgerm 😂 out of stock 😮 all the best Dr. Greger.

Is white tea better than green tea?

    • @user-nk1dc6lo8g
      @user-nk1dc6lo8g 3 месяца назад

Yes, don’t remember where I read it, but sure it was a reliable source. Incidentally I
put green tea bags in my cheek kinda like
the chew tobacco as also green tea helps prevent tooth decay. White tea probably better able to tolerate as less bitter (?)

I think there are miniscule differences between types of tea, if at all. Differences between types on caffeine, thein, all kinds of antioxidant levels is Bs. Tea varietals, parts of tea used, picking season, terroir, differences in processing, packaging and storage type and quality, and some more minor differences are much more important.
Researchers buy 3 Lipton or twinnings bags and compare them. No real life relevance.
It's like with all other things: drinking tea is better than not.
Regular Exercise is better than none at all, types of exercise is secondary, the best one is what you like and keep up with long term.

His voice wakes u up and is invigorating...to the point where ur brain is tuned in....
Very energetic and one can see he ❤ helping people with their diet for longevity 😊

The book is about how you don't want to age. Preventing the age related things that are changeable. It's the best book on nutrition I have read in my 37 years of reading and studying nutrition.

Of course it's titled to sell and get attention, but what it means is you want to age more like wine or dark tea and less like picked fresh kale and spinach leaves. Of course only to some degree it is achievable.
