Sorry for the influx of reviews and garden videos. I’ve been busy looking after a litter of puppies down south with Fern. Next Sundays video will be part 1 of a new multi day hiking adventure 🥾 🗺️ #maptime
Hola, I need your tent advice!! My young son wants to start coming out with me, so i need a two person tent, so I thought i could kill two birds with one stone and get a good four season, which i could use for some winter camps. SC2 or Allak 2, what are your thoughts or any cuve ball options?? Cheers
sierra designs meteor 3000 2p is a fantastic tent for the price, weight, design and quality. The interior space for the weight is the best I’ve seen so far and the outer shell option to roll back in decent weather is a excellent feature !!
Both great tents Hazy. I have just bought the pioneer 2. Just been out sat in it. Love it. I have the helm1 and love that but it’s nice having a bit more space. Atb Graham
Fantastic B-roll especially the drone shots. Got a Helm 1 last year which I absolutely love, so the Pioneer looks like the obvious choice for me using it for solo camping 👍
I know this is late but Terra Nova have the Pioneer 2 with footprint at £349 right now. Taking this into account and the fact I will sometimes carry it on my back and camp up in the hills but hopefully not in horrendous wind, (you never know though) would you feel ok recommending the Pioneer 2 for just myself. I don't really want to go over 2kg for the tent. Cheers. Keep up the awesome work.
The inners looks a bit saggy in both these tents. I honestly think they are both over priced though especially the Southern Cross. They are in the end Made in China and nothing revolutionary in terms of material or designs and pretty heavy too. Some good features like having a thicker floor and pitch inner first are welcome at the expensive of a little weight though. I would personally go for a US made tent like A Scarp 2 solid inner with the cross poles as an option for taking it into four seasons and maybe a spare mesh inner for the warmer seasons. A US made tent with more room inside and better materials. I notice Terra Nova like many are also not specing DAC poles and substituting with cheaper poles on newer things but prices are a lot more expensive with lesser quality. Like your Content Haze its good to keep swapping some stuff out to show people what is out there though as well as your great videos of your trips.
Bought the Pioneer 2 after watching your original video, as a solo user it's spacious and intimate/cosy which is an advantage in colder weather, I can honestly say I am over the moon with it, I'm also pleased to fly the flag for a GREAT BRITISH BRAND
This was the one comparison of tents I wanted. I have the pioneer2 and love it. Ventilation looks better in SC2 and nice to have 2 vestibules, but I just can’t see me replacing the pioneer2. The price difference is huge too. I really like those vents on the end of the SC2 though. Both amazing tents though and I can see why you would pick the SC2 with your mountain top camps in all weathers it will suit better
I’ve been looking at both these tents and I’m considering replacing my one man oex bobcat for the pioneer 2. Before that I’m saving my pennies for the north lite 2 with optional tracking pole reinforcement. Thanks for the video.
I’ve had one tent for ages - Vaude Terratrio. Nowt fancy but not bad at all, just too small. Been looking for something else for weeks now and still not set, but starting to think the Tarptent’s are looking like the way to go, mainly for the space. Why are the Terra Nova/Wild Country lacking in space, especially head height? The Scarp 1 is enormous in comparison and light. The Stratospire might be the one for me though. Also looking good on paper; the Weschel Bella, even I’m not a womb possesser. Big porch, decent height, outer first and light.
I've got the Pioneer 2 and I've had it out in some horrendous weather up in the Mournes, always felt bomb proof. I like the look of the SC but really can't justify the price.
I've been looking at replacing my 4 season tent, but can't get over the fact that nothing is more comfortable or bomb proof than a Quasar. That's my benchmark and would be the tent I'd be replacing, but I can't quite justify it with these other tents. (wanting to stay brand loyal) If Terra Nova could redesign the Quasar to be pitched inner and flysheet together, that would be a clear winner.
Nah then Hazy, hope tha's alreet. From what I can see the Terra Nova Northern Light is knockin't socks off these 2. I love ability to stick walking poles inside to brace it all
Hes got his builders bum out again 😂 nice tents i only have the msr elixir 2 man been in it once love it but this is special what your in on here lovely mate thanks for the tour of them.👌🏼
Nice video MR HAZE. LIKE Wildman says. Do you pitch up the outer shell first 🤔. As I don't like putting up the inner, be4 the outer. Especially when it's pissing down rain or snow.
Before watching your result I thought you'd go for the Southern Cross; they are both great tents, but the SC is better spec, larger and a full on 4 season tent. I own neither so will have a go at winning the Pioneer from you.
hi mate thanks for the indpeth thoughtful great reviews! Im a tall bloke, 6ft4 or 194 cm. Would I fit in the pioneer 2 tent length wise. Dont want to buy it and be pushing into the ends etc. Cheers!
I was looking at the Souther Cross 2 and now think I'm going Northern Lite instead. But and I have a bit of beef here. Last year I thought the Southern X was around £6??.00 something albeit out of stock when I bought my MSR HH which was a factor Terra Nova had some stock shortage last year when I was buying. Now for the Beef...... It appears that TN have inflated their prices simply so that they can offer the 20% discounts not just for yourself but other RUclipsrs offering same. Now I don't mind paying the market rate but I find it a bit suspicious (Trespass Technique I like to call it) when prices get hiked just before significant discounts become available... Anyway thanks for the review tbh the SX was my dream tent last year based on your use and review of the same. Great content and why is it I feel like I know you ?
Hi, do you think the 2023 updates to the tent are significant? I can buy an end of the line 2022 one for 80 quid less than the 2023 one and i wondered if that was worth it? I also saw another review that said the updates made the tent heavier, which might be another reason to buy a 2022 model.
Support mr haze and get the chance of a tent he’s been happy to put his name to, personally I want a gate and a latch but will take the tent as an equal second ❤
Nice tents, have you used the cheaper phoxx 11 v2 before as I got one and going for a first camp in next few days can't afford to get anything more expensive than that at the moment, have you or anyone used one before and Is it a good tent in your opinion, thanks 👍
just add a comment that I have the pioneer 2, defo a 1 man tent, or one man and his dog ( in my case ). I have a wide long matt that I also use in my Amok hammock. and it just fits in length ways and I would struggle to get 2 normal thin pads inside to be fair. I think the pioneer 2 now comes with the groundsheet too in that £400 price. I just have a bigger tent already for when I am with company as it would be company and dog, so I take a 3 man one. I would say for the price point, the pioneer 2 wins overall, however. if you don't already have a tent for company, then the southern cross be best, if you are always taking company. For me, this is rare, hence my 3 man job for when I really need that space and headroom etc. anyway, just thought i would add 2 cents ya know, for the rest of the followers and hazed out folk.
Bit of a no brainer really. Apart from the huge cost differential the Southern Cross is bigger and stronger. I've got the Pioneer 2 and it's a great tent for the money but not really a 2 person tent as you say.

Can you put one inside the other and have an 8 season by tent 🎪
Like a babushka doll of tents 🤔
Not really keen on those dolls, bit full of themselves
Flippin genius ! Cha ching ! £££££££ 😂
Not seen vid yet but the tents seem close spec n decent solid tents thing I'd go fa pioneer wats anyone else think 😊
There defo a 1 person palace tho

I'm still a Helm fanboy. Between them two? Depends which is easier to put up in horizontal rain. To the hills!
I love the Helm mate. Such a great tent
I'm still rocking the helm it's still winning awards in 2023 u can't beat it budget wise 😊

Same, cracking tent
Had mine up dartmoor in 30mph and also -8c snow 🙌🏕
£900, LOL. Has no one told TN that only Hilleberg are allowed to charge such ridiculous prices to the 'all the gear. No idea' crowd.
Great choice I used to have the sc1 and it barely moved in high wind
That’s an amazing discount and makes them very good value for money. The problem with spending £900 is that it is very close to Hilleberg prices.

Honourable mention to the Montane Prism, which makes a welcome, if short lived return. A modern classic!
From the early vids, shows how good they are. Mines been through the ringer still going strong 💪
@@jimbryan2271 Same here!
Tidy review buddy!! Looking forward to the raffle… Stay saucy!! 🤙🏼
Tents and boots, I don't why but tents and footwear always hold the nostalgia.
I love my SC2 might even buy the SC1

💥Ray Beers💥 I just wanna say your channel is awesome and the froth levels are always high.
All the best from Down in Noo Zee Land ✌️

Pioneer 2 all day long 🙌

SC2 is double the price so always gonna win , but when you can get a Northern Lite 2 for £495 it’s gotta be a consideration bombproof 👍

Hi Paul, I have just had a punt at your wild garlic scotch eggs. It would be great to hear from the main man. On my channel, wild garlic scotch eggs.

Any recommendations for a really decent 3 season? I’ve tried big Agnes copper spur, but it failed me after two camps :(
Hey I miss the postcast 😢
Send the sc 2 my way I’ll put it to good use with my 5 year old son mate 🙏
Why is the inner walls look like there collapsing..?
none.. not while me parents are playin old school hip hop from 80s bless em.. me eyes like - -, a rite love em tho
Only one way to find out......fight 😂😊
I entered it. Really hope i win, that tent will really help me on my first bike packing trip 😂

Hi does your discount code still work on the tents ?
Yes it does David 👍

Did you buy these tents or were you given them from terra nova?
What happened to your Big Agnes Copper Spur Hazey?
That’s my summer tent mate. It’ll be coming in a multi day hike I have planned with Fern 🥾⛺️
puppy life ftw!
How do they compare to helm 2
*Alexa, play Sinéad O'Connor - nothing compares 2U
@@HazeOutdoors 🤣🤣🤣
You should design your own tent
Southern cross, less phaff with the pole sleeves.
I’m happy with what I’ve got but thank all the same
PS - hope puppies are doing well.
Hazy you should design your own tent and approach a tent manufacturer to make it with your brand… Make some ££££
I’d make it out of blue rizlas
A Hazy Rizla cone tent will sell.
Nice!
Just acquired a TN Norther Lite 2, worth considering mate
Cost wise, I'd go Pioneer but I've always liked the look of the Southern cross. My guess is you'll choose the latter
To much mesh to be classed as a 4 season , the southern cross is ok
My wife said, her favourite 4 season tent is made by Travel lodge 🤨.......I married a flippin comedian !
Tents
Great watch their ok but not for me
Southern cross 2. True 4 season tent, not a true 2 person tent! Terra Nova sizing is a joke
Give over. You really don't need another tent 😅
👍👍👍
900 quid. I'd get a Tarptent Scarp 1 instead. Lighter and as strong.
Cracking vid hazy. Any idea why mesners turned his comments off? Lol
and the winner is:
hilleberg
Northern lite 2? Sits between the two price wise but is lighter than both. I think its better than both and is also stronger ☺️
That’s interesting mate, I’ve not checked it out but I’m defo gonna have a closer look
Get that lawn cut lad , I thought better of you .
Which is the best 4 season tent, the Pioneer or Southern Cross? Oh that's easy; neither, it is the Nammatj 2.
