Haha thanks for the heads up. I was just getting super excited thinking I could try this quality-looking tentage for £240 and support the channel at the same time. But yeah three hundred is still tempting af... Esp with a tenner or w/ off the footprint.

Great quality video 👍 I got a Pioneer 2 a few months ago and really really like it. Great quality product, little or no condensation inside even on a foggy night/morning. Only had a couple of nights in it but can't wait to get out in it again. 👍👍

I've been using one of these for the past year, had her out in plus 40 gusts with no problem - I'm 6'3 and have no issues lying down or sitting up in this
Would it comfortably take someone at 6'6"?
@@rbstretch100 i may be wrong n anyone feel free to correct me - I'm sure terranova tents where built around the original makers son n he was 6'6 - I'd suggest you'd be fine as I'm not too close to either end to worry.

the trick of the outer door that clips on and the inner door that fits in the pocket is f*#king brilliant !

Mine arrived today, it now has the decent red alloy tent pegs but no lantern hanging hook or a emergency pole repair sleeve.
Suprised to see the tent uses eyelets to secure the poles .. I have had a few tents over the years , the eyelets have always become detached from the webbing. Now I stick with sockets , no issue at all .. Thanks for putting me onto Nordic out doors !

Nice one. Love your joyful excitement in your videos, very infectious & inspiring to get out. But when you said £299 just 12 months ago we’ve just looked & today Terra Nova say on sale at £399 reduced from £600! Are tent manufacturers cashing in, as MSR seem to be adding £££ too

What's the difference between this and the southern cross 2, other than the pole configuration

Just got one myself. Awesome quality and very well designed.
Picked one up 2 years ago on sale, great tent , added a gear loft and it's my perfect tent.
If I have one criticism it's that it's not free standing, needs to be pegged to pull the ground sheet tight .

@@colinbigsy7095 Colin hi, I bought a mountain hardwear one on ebay , its still listed , (seller accepted £6 offer)
I attached some loops to the tent with dyneema thread on the seams .
It works very well and is handy for keeping stuff out the way.

PS the sizes of 27 inch triangular seems quite large? Does it come down quite low from the ceiling?

Chuffed about this one Hazey. I’ve had that tent for about 2 months but not had chance to use it yet and finding reviews has been hard work but from what I’ve seen I do like it and TN are top quality. Looking forward to seeing your adventures using it.

Great review, any chance you and Paul Messener can do a compare and contrast with this tent and the tarptent scarp1? Both appear to be 1.5 person, perfect for a dog, similar weight & spec! Go on you know it makes sense 😜
This could be the answer for me. I’ve been looking for something between my Vango zenith and AK Kangri for a while, but not at the cost of a Hilleberg!

abit off topic HAZE,but i just bought a seahawk 3 dingi with 12 vault battery and a electric trail motor with 40pds of thrust ,and im loving it just thought it would make some great videos ,only £340 all in ..lovein these videos very informative

Got mine in Feb 2020 just before lockdown for £250. Absolutely love it. I guess with the code it brings it to£240. Hopefully you'll do all the testing and I can have a better idea of what it can cope with. I had to strike camp during really high winds up on Hallin fell. I went for the groundsheet as well for extra protection. Loving your vids and cheerful cheekiness.

To terra nova and all tent manufacturers who color code poles, what about people who are color blind. Cloud peak 2 had all three the same so you can't go wrong. Great review.
Nice review once again but looks like a very narrow vestibule certainly if you want to have two pads and at least one being 25" wide. Seems quite a big packed volume. At least it beats the hilleberg for pack volume and weight :)
Great stuff! I 've owned this tent for a couple of years and used it on the West Highland Way and it worked a treat, apart from bad condensation (but that was only on the inner of the outer). I have broken a pole (but that w as from bending it at the very end, so my bad).. it's a great tent for space and warmth... enjoy! atb Sinco

Excellent quality tent especially at that price point, I have a laser photon and I love it. Only con for me is the weight but can’t beat it if you don’t mind that.

The offer price is now £399, but you do get the footprint and 12 terra firma pegs with it which just about accounts for the extra £100.
Looks good but the night cat is cheaper and does the same but maybe on the heavy side but has some good points to it that no other tent has

Respect to terra nova, but I would go for my Kuiu storm over the pioneer. I just feel they are stuck back 10 years ago with the designs, good value though, well would be if the southen cross was 150 less.

Hi just wondering if you have since had any issues getting the poles in the holes. I've pitched it 4 times and the last two times I've really really struggled to get the poles in the holes!! Any advice would be welcome. 😊

Been rocking the HELM2 (original) for a couple of year now in all sorts of conditions. Is the porch larger at the front door and is the tent a improved lighter version of the helm?

Hi mate, I’m in 2 minds there to get the helm2 or this pioneer2.. the only thing putting me off the helm is the sagging inner that I’ve heard about. Do you have this problem in the pioneer? Also I’m 6,1 do you think the length would be ok? Thanks
any idea on a value for money down jacket ? wont be used for hiking or mountain climbing due to disability but needing a lightweight warm coat for general use

Cheers Hazey. Great review. You loved your Hilleberg, but not your S2S. You got on well with the Lanshan on CWT and now the TN Pioneer 2! I have a Soulo, too heavy. A Tarptent Notch, too condensation-ay and as with Goldilocks, needing something in-between, been waiting sooooo long on TT Scarpa 2 to be re-stocked so was gonna get a lanshan 2 for more room and now you’ve unclipped the Pioneer 2 grenade!! Condensation, my biggest moan! What’s to do Hazey? Good man.
