Christoph's statement is thoughtfull and well crafted. I've been a Rammstein fan since the band released their first album, I was just a kid in the midst of my musical awakening, so their music means a lot to me. Above of all, fairness and justice must prevail, the alledge victims deserve to be heard and Till has the right to defend his innocence and reputation.

Anyone who has been following the band for some years could observe that Till did just that. He got lost in his alter ego more and more. And that's also an explanation for the fact that everything has now reached the point of escalation - it was just a question of time. Ignoring this does not help him. This is the way in which an adult deals with a situation as delicate as this. Let the authorities finish their investigations and determine if Till Lindemann is guilty of something or if it is a case of defamation. In either case, let the law fall with all its weight against whoever has done something against the rules within our modern society.

The whole affair is not as zero and one as it looks.
What you describe above is the criminal part around drugs and non-consent and in this case the authorities investigate and in the case they decide to go to court, a judge will decide in due process about guilt.
Then there is the part, where the public is having a discourse about the morality around a public figure (T. Lindemann, 60) and a system of pushing young girls in a situation having sexual acitivities with him (details below). The public is not heterogene. Some parts of the public might decide to punish Lindemann and/or Rammstein with disregard and bans. Others might not.
Now we arrive in the grey zone. I am from Germany, got some friends in the more hard core parts of the "black scene", also attended a Rammstein gig once. It was and is widely known in that scene that Till Lindemann is and was the guy in the band for sex and drugs, Pre-"party", between set blow jobs, after-"party". So if you maneuver yourself in a backroom situation with Till Lindemann, in that scene the groupies know what's up and coming.
Point is, this is not about the groupies. The russian casting manager Lindemann got from Marilyn Manson contacted girls from outside the groupie scene. From instagram, from clubs. And invited them to a free concert inccluding after-show-party. But they never went to that party, they were isolated, had to give up their smart phones and got escorted directly into Lindemanns private "VIP-casting-room" consisting of booze and couches. Drugs were being offered. NO IDs were being controlled. So, psychological pressure was being built up. Some girls left at some point. Some not. It is absolutely NOT clear who was high and who was not.
Now the prosecution Berlin has to decide - aside from the criminal part above - if there are elements of crime pointing towards abuse of power and any case of non-consent. From the circle of the girls over time, there are witnesses for the system and some of them took statements under oath.
Also the public has to decide, how they think about this aquisition and casting system of Till's, which is quite some steps away from the usual groupie, sex, drugs and RocknRoll thing. Also, Till Lindemann could have had all the groupies in the world, but he chose to use his system of power.
I hope I could shed some light on the different layers of the affair.

@@Thund3rstone It seems to me that you assume a lot, and while the public can assume and judge based on those assumptions, the judicial system cannot judge that way. If so, let's get out our pickaxes and torches and go back to the middle ages as a society all together. Now, I fully agree with the comments that says that Till Lindemann is innocent until proven guilty, but if proven guilty, he must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The same way should works in both directions. If it's a defamation case, these girls should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. For now, I understand that we base our justice system on the principle of guaranteeing equality, impartiality, and access to a fair trial for all individuals involved in a legal process. In a nutshell, Schneider said that Till Lindemann deserves the same respect as well the alleged victims until the due process ends and determines who is the victim of whom.

hmmm, debateble, for one he's only talking about the 'normal' afterparty, second thing, what excatly are they distancing themselves from, if everything is safe? And "his idea of a good time seemed to differ ..." what the actual f. That's what you call it nowadays? How is any of this reasonable? They should't be able to run from responsibility of having tolerated that shit over years. No offense, but that's on them too.
That Lady never recruited Fans, she went specifically for 'groupies' and after sh*tload of consideration and admitting to myself that I used to be one of them(different band though) I can confirm, that 'groupies' are mentally and emotionally so hard biased and mentally and emotionally impaired that I realized that in fact any form of "flexing groupies" is actually abuse. By every definition that's people in power taking advantage of these weakened people because it tickles their egos. And I DON'T mean actual fans as in 'I just love and appreciate the stuff they do or the art they produce like grown ups do'. Most of those concert goers are probably normal fans rather than groupies, which would make actual consent possible. But they specifically targeted 'groupies'. And using that mentally and emotinally affected state for sexual gratification is a lot of things from respectless to just abusive. They could f*ck with consent but choose people who aren't even in an emotional state for true consent. And another important thing, before even more woke hell breaks lose: That's not a gender thing. There's male groupies and female artists that go the same long way. That's a damn issue all over the fame industrie, not even just music ... where there's power there's always abuse, people who wouldn't usually don't even get into these kinds of positions. I for one wish to hear the actual truth and then hope all of those actually practicing and supporting that kind of abuse may watch and feel their genitals rot in painful slomo. And for those who feel hit by that statement: congratulations, your brain just outed you as someone who identifies himself as fitting this description. Prove me wrong.

@sandyschultze946 I simply stated the "statement" was reasonable on the surface. I & many others can only speculate what may or may not have gone down. The proverbial jury is still out on this one & the dynamic of innocent until proven guilty should certainly apply here, my friend.

    • @sandyschultze946
      @sandyschultze946 11 месяцев назад +5

@@vinniecorleone62 The thing is, I agree, innocent until proven guilty. In this case it's a question of what can be considered evidence. And these 'groupie traffickings' did happen, there's proof. No matter if directly involved or just tolerated, they avoided responsibilty for that for years. That's why all of that sounds like 'For now I pretend to back him, but just in case if he goes down I don't wanna join. My hands are oh so clean' to me ... As I said, this isn't at all a rammstein issue, it's the whole business and the biggest mistake is to make it only about Lindemann. That's a whole rotten system and that's not even news. No matter what rotten things he might have done, the part where he's actually unfairly treated is all those people pinning it on him alone to keep the rest of the system running. Nobody would even need to investigate this dude, if they just went after that frigging system. Every head that's actually involved would fall automatically like f*cking dominos, probably people that as of now seem way more innocent than Lindemann. These practises are so common I'm not even surprised. Check out Ian Watkins. Despite most disgusting video evidence it took years and an accidental drug bust to get that dude behind bars. Recruiting emotional and mentally impaired people for sexual services under false pretenses and even getting paid for that is actually human trafficking, if they really blatantly didn't check any ID this could even be considered child trafficking, if just one of the victims can be proven minor at the time of the crime. This shouldn't at all be about Rammstein. They are like every other celeb who abuses this kind of power just a side show character in a giant ass abuse system. And yes, I am absolutely aware of how drastic that sounds. But the description of exactly how this Woman 'recruited' those girls fits that pattern and I really, really don't understand how people don't see that. The thing is, in germany Rammstein has probably a little bit of a different standing than in the rest of the world and knowing media I can't say how thorough the details are being portrayed there. Possible you don't know half of it because it won't even be reported in the full. If that really get's evaluated as human trafficking Lindeman will be just one of many, many more. Ignoring major patterns just to make it headlines about one specific individual is the actual problem.
But anyway, thanks for answering and not freaking out. I like good conversations and I for one would love to be proven wrong. But how realistic are the chances of that?

Initially she said she was introduced to Till and declined having sex with him, which he kindly accepted and went OK with.
Now she claimed he got angry when she declined. She's always stated explicitly he [definitely] "didn't touch her", only to come up with photos right after showing haematoma and making suggestions her drink had been spiked. Why presenting photos of haematoma when she allegedly *knows* she wasn't touched by Till in particular?! These photos would insinuate otherwise, and if it wasn't Till who touched her, somebody else would have been.
What now!? Two versions of the "truth" is one too many for my taste.

Royally passing off millions of Rammstein fans, hurting and tearing the band apart? So she got wasted (as you said, it's what we do best!), just admit that you made a tit of yourself and move on. If some wrong doing has happened, Justice will be served but until the investigation is fulfilled DO NOT attack a victim for coming forward and DO NOT attack Till or the band.

@@velveetaslingshot Definitely agree with you However, I do think that this statement, "innocent ultil proven guilty", in isolation, serves more as an assertion of innocence and disregard for the *potential* victims.
While I fully agree that allegations, true or not, can be incredibly harmful and hurtful before any confirmation, I think it's always good practice to err on the side of caution.
Something which I think the statement of the drummer does very well. As @MannyBrum below me states, he doesn't fully defend nor fully condemn his bandmate.
In my reading of the statement shown in the video, his language seemed to imply that Till, to some extent, did things that he didn't agree with and I found that the large amount of comments saying that he took the side of Till or just "innocent until proven guilty" seemed very dismissive to the potential of actual victims.
Of course the band states they're innocent, but that's why I think everyone should wait until a clearer truth emerges.
Just because Till may not have done something illegal doesn't mean he may not have done something reprehensible, like coercion, like getting partial consent, or otherwise taking advantage of someone vulnerable. That's the grey area.

How does he know that if he's never been there? I don't know. To me it seems like he just wants to save face and distance himself from the scandal. Not only that, but women are not the only ones who have come forward with accusations. And you can find old videos on youtube of young fans who describe bad experiences with Lindemann as well, only they weren't seen, because they don't have many subscribers and are only resurfacing now, because of the accusations. I believe in innocent until proven guilty as well, still it wouldn't suprise me in the least if there was at least some truth to these accusations, especially because so many women have come forward and their stories match up.

There were two types of aftershow parties. One for Celebrities and the other for Till. Of course, nothing happened at the after-show party for celebrities, but Till's girls are usually not allowed to go there. Of course, all of the crew know what Till does with the girls. When the girls were led into the separate room by security, they called it the Walk of the Sluts. That's all known. Not only in the crew, but also in the Berlin music industry

He did not distance himself from Lindemann, he explained Till has his own sideprojects - not unlike Kruspe - and therefor a seperate following and seperate parties. The Irish woman wasn't a fan of either Rammstein nor Lindemann's band and was looking for something wild. She found it. I don't believe the woman and I think now the story becomes a monster she is doubling down. Because, other that getting Irishly drunk, nothing happened to her that would hold up in court.
We as women should be think before we act. Not just go willynilly to a backstage party of a band, or an artist of who she knew nothing about . With women like the Irish woman, serious crimes against women take a massive blow of credibility.
The way she reports about the follow up, the fall out, the cancel culture at work, the comparison to other crime cases that have nothing to do with this casus, and the way she utterly enjoys it, which is not a behaviour of a serious traumatized victim gives the assumption she is in it for attention, followers and some kind of revenge (no idea for what reason) and her demolition course will do more bad than good for victims of violence against women. Even if you (no matter who reads this :) ), did not follow the best band in the world for MANY years, you 'should' (?) feel something is not right about such allegations. Till is THE man (with love and loads of respect for each member, from my heart), who kept the band together when Emerate started and before. He keeps motivating his friends when things are 'should'nt we stop and i would like to do something else' etc. Like most of the band members do have their own projects. As Till does. He only has to wink (or even not) and (as i would be myself ;), the girl-woman that fancys him will come over and they will have great times. He has worked his ass off (as all members do-did), and has achieved (finally!) so much now. They didn't give up. When the success arrives, also the vultures. (i'm a woman, hetero, as well), it also means that i know & seen 'my sisters' behaving like bitches. When a man does not give them the attention they want, they go do mean stuff or gossip & lie.
