Or heard a voice that guides u through...ved vyas comes much later...vedas existed before him...he may hv compiled them but he did not create them...u can think of it like compiling a book of traditional recipes that get transferred through one generation to the next orally. U may write them but those recipes were not yours...u just put them together in order depending on ingredients etc...hope u understand

Then why all sanatanis are moving in the wrong direction without following vedas.
