If children and marriage are done like awakening then they work and don't feel out of place.
Fates forcing of child units has given the feature a bad rap when it doesn't nearly deserve it. IS used the system to make characters like Lucina and her popular accompanying characters (you know who, im not going to list one above the other because people generally like all of awakenings child units, although I am going to put Lucina as the #1 child unit because shes one of the most popular ladies in FE existence)

I just really really hope that go with more of a echo style than a Fates or Awakening style. Awakening was fine I enjoyed it but fates was trash and if they go back to that I'm going to burn down a building.

Personally, I have a very low opinion of basically anything to do with lore or story in Fates, not counting the awakening xenolouges, the only reason I played Fates was for the Awakening tie in DLC's, since they fix the future children's universe and are a tie in to a much better game (lul)
