🎮 ABOUT THE GAME 🎮
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems, and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game console in 2004 for Japan and 2005 in the West. It is the eighth entry in the Fire Emblem series, the second to be released outside Japan, and the third and final title to be developed for the Game Boy Advance after The Binding Blade and its prequel Fire Emblem.
Set in a separate continuity to earlier Fire Emblem titles, The Sacred Stones takes place on the fictional continent of Magvel, which is divided into five nations, each built around a magical stone said to be linked to the imprisonment of an ancient demon. When one of the five nations, the Grado Empire, invades its neighbors and begins destroying the stones, protagonists Eirika and Ephraim of the royal family of Renais set out to gather allies and halt Grado's conquest, while also trying to uncover the reasons for the war. The gameplay is similar to previous Fire Emblem games, focusing on turn-based, tactical movement of units across a grid-based battlefield. Core features of the game include permanent death for characters defeated in battle and support conversations that grant advantages to certain units in battle.

Title: In This Fire Emblem Game You Play As The Bad Guys And It's AWESOME!
In this video you'll be bound to hear me mispronounce the names of MOST characters / places. You're allowed to point it out in the comments, but I require a like on the video in exchange. I think that is a deal we can all get behind! Thank you for watching
Bandit Emblem: feuniverse.us/t/fe8-complete-bandit-emblem/8501
this why i use a sword instead of rapier
What i think wouldve been more fun is if the bandits accidentally bandited their way into destroying the evil deity.
By god, that would have been a perfect ending for real. Maybe in a longer version of this hack that could be a possibility lol.
@@kratosmvn_ if somebody was willing to extend this hack with that in mind it would be amazing!
Sounds like what the Minos Gang from a rom hack called "The Dark Lord and The Maiden of Light" almost did.
generic
I could swear this happened at least once in an anime...
The “player” was on casual mode and still lost to the bandits. Now that takes some serous skill
Yeah, it was very much a skill issue on his end...
Boy Do I Relate To A Degree
my favorite part is that talking to other units recruit YOUR unit instead.
very much looking forward to the sequel where we play as Ulrich
It's funny to lose units in that! I would love the Ulrich sequel.
@@kratosmvn_ me when the dragon ryder red hair girl talks to her father and i didnt know what would´ve happend if i try to take the father as my unit
Kratos: SEND IN THE REDSHIRTS!
Nameless red unit: But sir! We’re ALL wearing red!
Kratos: yes I’m aware…and?
LMAO, that's pretty much what happened.
This concept has a lot of potential. Imagine a Fire Emblem game where you are forced into banditry to survive. You slowly build up your bandit force and raid villages. Lords and knights try to stop you, but unable to catch you. The knights corner you but are attacked by a neighboring countries troops. Your bandits use this opportunity to escape. The player learns that war has broken up across the continent. Various kingdoms are attacking each other in a quest for power. The player has the opportunity to move their bandit forces across the continent looting various villages. Of course, looting a certain country wrecks your relationship with them, but raises the relationship with the country's enemies. If the relationship is raised high enough, a representative for the country comes to the player's bandit camp and ask the player to be a privateer for his country. The player will be able to access markets and other services inside the country and start building a relationship with the country's royalty. This will lead the player becoming a lord after the war ends.
That does sound like a pretty fire concept I would play the heck out of that.
so bannerlord but fire emblem style?
Ike's games are the closest youre ever getting to this in the Fire Emblem series, I think. They have not generally been going in the direction of designing games where the gameplay enhances the story, and theyve also sort of uh. Abandoned their own style in favor of gacha candypeople, and I feel like if they did this exact concept for a game it would not feel the way you want it to. Maybe things will be different in the future.
I also recommend mount and blade for this experience.
There's a romhack thats basically this
@@eduardoruizmoreno-fy1ou What's it called?
The extra backstory at the beginning made this hilarious lol
I'm glad you enjoyed that part, it was what took me the longest to make in this video so it's nice to know it had an impact for you
19:43 The idea of a healer raiding a villager is hilarious to me
It's very funny to me too!
It was probably the evil god in her awakening 🤣
I just imagined a high-level staff user unleashing bezerk on an unsuspecting village 😅
I'm only in the early part, but BloodAxe is actually the "Family Name" or "Battle Name" of a Viking from history, who was called "Eric Bloodaxe," and was given to savagery in battle.
True, but my comment still stands the vikings lack originality and I would have made fun of them too... I would have had to deal with the consequences of my actions, but that's a story for another time.
@@kratosmvn_ Bluetooth.
"Due to the material conditions of my situation, brought on by late-stage capitalism, I have been forced into a life of crime due to falling through the cracks of a system that does not promote rehabilitation and left me to see crime as my only option to find any form of stability. I do recognize that these villagers are also victims of the same system that oppresses the common man as it has left them slaves to serfdom toiling away for the benefit of the rich elite, but since I have been left without any means to rise from my predicament, this is the only option left for me."
-Generic Bandit n°56
This profound quote from him will be remembered throughout history.
"Gimmie your stuff. I want it!"
Bandits somehow invented capitalism before feudalism pls nerf
This stream was so fun. The Cave Passage escape took soooo long, but had the funniest moments LMAO
It was such a fun time! And yeah that moment was crazy
What makes bandits in FE games so bad is their low speed. So playing as the enemy feels like torture 💀
Yeah! It's crazy how frustrating it is to constantly getting doubled.
Its immersiv xD
Fire Emblem but all your bandits are myrmidons?
when u play generics in fates its even worst! it so bad that u have to use stat boosters on them lol
Wait a second…”lost his son, betrayed by his friend” and now about to lose his castle??? This ain’t Thracia!
your units talking to enemies causing them to get recruited is extra funny
Agreed, it's a very funny twist
That sounds like a cool mechanic tbh, like, some of your units not being willing to fight against the boss's units because they used to be close to the boss so they might end up changing sides if you arent careful enough
20:02 lol at the villager calling the bandit a "weapon triangle denier" 😂
It was a very funny moment, so I had to include it in the video even only subtly.
I both love the dedication to being full on evil bandit bastards, AND want an FE game that has a group of bandits that are sympathetic that fight an evil lord.
The latter would be such a fun concept!
Thracia is the closest to the 2nd one. Leif has a higher warcrime count than any lord because he effectively runs a terrorist group
Would vision quest count?
@@kratosmvn_ Ideas from rolling this around in my head for a bit:
Since often Fire Emblem royal houses are linked to some ancient evil being sealed, perhaps this evil lord is necessary to keep a greater evil at bay.
And as you go through the game you get some veiled allusions to this, some "You must not harm the royal family!" Type stuff, but assume it's all just their loyalty and/or propaganda.
Then when you kill the king or queen, all hell breaks loose, literally.
And your scrappy band of peasant bandits has to step up and save the world.
One of your party members could be red unit knight who would be all "I swore an oath to my country, not the royal family, now I see how desperate you are, I'm on your side."
Maybe an early map has a raid on your little bandit fort, where you have to defend a throne.
Not everyone has to be a heroic bandit, there could be one or two with a degree of "Well, the king's treasury must be stacked, right? I'm in it for the looting." And later "Well, my gold's not much use when a zombie horde led by demons is destroying all the infrastructure."
@@_Hamler This looks intriguing. Thank You!
10:54 Something I would like to mention briefly is that yellow units are also a thing. They show up in 3 Houses during the Battle of the Eagle and the Lion, as well as in Fire Emblem Warriors of all places (specifically at the end of the Fates arc) and work basically the same as the purple units in this hack where they attack your allies and your enemies. They probably also show up in other places too but these are the only instances I can remember off the top of my head.
Edit: To anyone that pointed out anywhere yellow units appear that I forgot about, thank you.
Yellow units also appear as directable ally units in FE9 and 10.
I didn't know about 3H, but I knew about Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance.
I believe FE4 also has yellow units! They are pretty much just passive green units who exist for plot purposes.
Yellow Units show up in Engage's Xenologue campaign! i don't remember exactly what Chapter number it was but it was the fight between Solm and Elusia that your units stumble into. the three times i've played the Xenologue, i've always looked forward to that map since the Yellow Units make it really fun to watch the Enemy/Other Phases play out
edit: fixed a grammatical error i noticed after posting this comment
I just realized that Davit is meant to be the archetype of that party member with the member card hired for 10,000 gold.
I'm surprised the game didn't just simply reset when you kill a named character. Without that, it's simply not an authentic bad guy experience!
LMAO that would have been the ultimate meme... the player character reseted the game cause they wanted 0 loses.
I would recommend the creator to this hack to make the sequel where you play as Ulrich fighting vs the dark god's force according to the ending
That could be really fun!
Just thought that a ranking system would be nice. Like generic units that rise through the ranks to become named characters.
Yeah, that would be a fun addition.
Would the names be randomly generated, through?
@@dylanzlol7293 I bet it would be. But what would be even cooler is if the name was randomly generated from certain actions that units has done. Some random mook chop down a prominent noble on the field? Greg Kingslayer. Some dude runs around a shit ton and uses hit and run tactics with a bow? Ulrich Swiftbow. Some guy just really love using a singular weapon? Lan'ce Silver Lance.
@@smallasian5599 sounds hard to code
@@dylanzlol7293 oh I bet. Just airing out some ideas that I think would be kewl.
I can't believe the material conditions forced that bandit to kill that villager after he had already surrendered and gave up his coin purse
It is truly tragic
I would pay so much for an actual Fire Emblem game where you aren't some special, mega-tactical-genius who leads the good guys to save the world, but just an ordinary bandit, the story being about your character slowly rising up in the criminal underworld and eventually becoming a warlord themselves.
Yeah I'd love something like that too!
That sounds like Fire emblem meets Grand Theft Auto.
A moment of silence for all the bandits who lost their lives to the dreaded Rapier.
F
At first I thought the name Sadeas was just coincidence, but after seeing "Emperor Susebron" mentioned, I'm glad to say this guy is a Sanderson-nerd and I love it.
No, someone during the stream did bring up that fact too and I didn't pick up on it cause I haven't read any of Sanderson's work (his books are on my to-read list though).
Plus Myrdraal, given that Sanderson worked on the end of the WoT series. Loved that.
makes me think of how cool this concept would be played out like Vinland Saga
if you liked this hack you might want to give a look to fire emblem eckesacks wich is a FE6 rewrite that instead of following roy and his group's actions this time it follows zephiel and his band of war criminals on their way to conquer elibe and driving the good guys almost insane
Yeah, someone else pointed it out early. It looks very fun and I might try it out eventually. Thanks for the suggestion!
The way you described the story is that the lord dies early on, which is kinda like the fell zenolouge. Except Alear dies late.
00:12 *playing as the Lords* are we the baddies meme appears. Honestly, sympathy for the bandits here, I feel for ya
This video is proofs that the lords are indeed the baddies lol
One bandit to his friend after raising a few houses: are we the baddies?
LOL, real existential crisis are happening here.
NGL this makes me wanna reboot a romhack I worked on almost a decade ago where the main characters were serving an evil general. Essentially playing the bad guys in a typical FE game
You totally should! I'm sure it would be awesome.
Hello just read your comment and I'm intrigued, so if you actually manage to do it could you tell me ?
Zurg rush comes through! It was truly a key facet of your strategy with all those redshirts of yours. lol
It was a well thought out layered strategy
Hmm. There's never been a Fire Emblem RTS....there probably should be. There's enough units and heroes. The real problem is factions and buildings.
Can we get this guy to 10k this year. We have to try. Great vid as always.
Thank you, thank you so kind of you to say that.
Is it just me, or does Vathel Bloodaxe looks a whole lot like Zuko?
My only issue with this hack is that the merc in ch5 has a secret card, but there is no secret shop at all.
Imagine my pain when i started over, fed kills to my useless for combat thief only to never find the shop.
Been looking forward to this. Excellent vid 👍
Thank you thank you
we are all the villains
In a way you're right...
This guy literally just did the fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Like, after the first chapter of it not working as intended I wouldn't have trusted it ever again.
I did admit I was an idiot though.
@@kratosmvn_ yeah, fair enough. I commented before I finished the video and noticed that later.
13:50
Look mom! I'm right there!
Yes you are!!!
What happens if your protag manages to win the last fight with high enough stats?
Wasn't the only reason the heroes even won the game was because the player was a tactician giving orders to all the heroes cause i remember Lynn and Elwood and the others referring to you as a separate character.
Idk if they changed it in other games cause I only got the chance to play Bloodlines, 3 houses, and Engage after playing the OG Fire Emblem forever ago on my SP
Im late, but so glad to see you playing this based mod! Keep up the good work brother!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed
The mf who made this mod is DEFINITELY a high fantasy reader he referenced Sadeas from the Stormlight Archive and Myrdraal from the Wheel of Time and those are only the ones I noticed, there are probably more I just haven't read the series for
There is a hack that starts you with someone that is supposed to be a bad guy throughout the whole story, being a "Bandit Lord" and all that but down the line, as you continue conquering places and fighting against soldiers not to get caught, you end up basically getting forced to fight against the real evil guys, and your character actually is discovered to have been a good guy in the past, and so deep inside, even if he hates to admit it, he still is even if he is doing everything with selfishness as an excuse.
The hack is called Terror Of The Forest, but its not the best hack ever, it is entertaining either way, but I would have liked for the second game to be made, I think they dropped that project.
Hehe, dats me… back when I was called Zoran.
Great video and this hack was certainly an experience to what it’s FE life would be like as brigands. Maybe this might stirred up some inspiration for later.
It was lovely to have you around! :)
I'll have to check this hack out. I made something like this years ago, where you control a bunch of monsters to fight the main characters. It's really weird but cool visiting a village and watching it crumble when you play as the enemy.
You should it's a lot of fun. The project you're talking about does sound quite interesting too!
What's your hack called?
Welp, this was hilarious LMAO
Since you seemed to like the game, i would suggest taking a shot at playing fire emblem eckesachs, basically FE6 but you play the villains, it's very fun and filled to the brim with funny interactions and a LOT of war crimes, cuz a game with zephiel as the MC is bound to be disastrous XD
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Yeah, I heard about that one, gonna have to add it to the list of hacks to try cause that does sound pretty fun.
The unit animations are so smooth
Agreed, I love them so much!
I guess Taarg is just that incompetent of a leader; he doesn't even know how to say "retreat."
Yeah, he ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
Dunno why but the concept reminds me of Pokemon: Rocket Red, where you start as a hapless Grunt of Team Rocket with your Rattata and proceed committing crime after crime, stealing Pokemon from innocent trainers, working your way up the ranks all the way to becoming the Rocket Boss SPOILER
gate-crashing the Indigo League to crush Red at the moment of his victory against Blue and end Professor Oak's ambition to restart the Kanto/Johto war by using a puppet Champion he controls.
Even ends with you chucked in prison with varying lengths of life sentence based on how many crimes you committed throughout your playthrough.
That sounds like a ton of fun, I might have to give it a try at some point.
Are we ever going to make it to the good part of Vivaldi or are you just going to keep edging us with the first few bars of winter?
I'm sorry the edging continues
Imagine just chilling one day as a villager and some sweet gentle looking woman barges in and says “Give me your money!”
Those were some wild streams.
It was a pretty awesome time!
I don’t remember this stream! Either way great video as always kratos keep it up
Yeah it was mid December, I think. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed.
At the end yeah those were low hit rates… but there were 100 hits😂.
Yeah I was literally throwing everything at him
I have wanted this for so long lol
Hopefully you enjoyed the video.
Playing the bad guys is also known as "playing Crimson Flower"
Just downloaded and played this myself, gotta say it's one of the hardest hacks I've played in a long time
I found it quite challenging too.
It's a little like the dark route in Langrisser, but in that the powerful heroes turn bad.
This is a cool idea, Nintendo should make an official fire emblem game where you play as the villain.
I wish they would, but I don't see them going down that route unfortunately.
Honestly intresting what if senerio is ulrich still finding the bandits still useful and kept them alive but still had the full Intent to kill them once they're usefulness ran out this would mean the bandits live to be villans in the main story of this world but in the end the bandits, the evil empire and the evil cult fall.
Yeah, that does sound like an interesting idea!
Wonder if you could bug the game by like making sure vaathiel has cracked stats and can't be killed in the cut scene...
That would be something fun to try out...
Those bandits were just poor innocent ‘baby Angel Aladdins who pillaged to feed their starving families.
Random Wizard Soldier: *asleep*
Zylvin: "I smite thee!" *misses... twice*
Feel like the Ultra Instinct stings should play during those two dodges. Like the first two sting notes. Man was running on pure instinct alone to dodge twice while asleep.
I really hope this gets a sequel where we see the real main story of the world of the evil empire and cult.
Truth be told I thought this would be a good origin story of a self made lord who not only came from the lowest of the low, but continually faced the challenge of class differences which no one would accept you cause you were not born into nobility and never will be one of them.
“Bloodaxe? Bro I know you’re a bandit but come on.”
Same series with a guy called Glass. Feel the bar of standards is automatically set to low.
27:14 “we needed a grey armor general in Fire Emblem GBA before today”
*cries in Wallace*
I mean dark grey... I'm so sorry Wallace
Tbf, Bloodaxe was an actual guy, a king from Norway in fact. Obviously it was a nickname, but Eric Bloodaxe actually existed and was called that for real.
One militiaman with a sword dodging five bandits in a row is the most fire emblem thing
she folded after zero pressure lol.
Anyway, algorithm comment!
It took zero convincing lol,
Thank you :D
Lmao all the Fantasy Novel names, Myrdraal from Wheel of time,
Sadeas from Stormlight Archive
Susebron from War breaker,
The maker of this hack was definitely a Sanderson fan
Do you think if you killed Wish Jaegan, that the final battle wouldn't have been the same? It looked like he died, not retreated, but the Jaegans tend to just retreat for story purposes let me be an idiot and kill off my Jaegan-
If you killed him in other chapters he simply had another retreat dialogue and left then came back.,
@kratosmvn_ Oh, was hoping we could get rid of the threat early or cripple him for this battle. I think the second option would make a game like this interesting...
Great Hack! I really hope that he will do the other side of the story too, now I'm interested in the actual story :D
I have played a rom like this it was called barry bandits
I'm actually curious if you get a different ending if ulferich dies but you win the battle still like maybe he gets the boss low hp but dies and you finish the boss with your own char? Or does it game over you if he dies?
If Ulrich dies you simply get a gameover screen.
@@kratosmvn_ awww that's so lame. it would've been really cool if you could change fate that way
@@vgpharaoh1344or you get a special ending instead where your char takes over after you win the battle?
I mean I get the joke, kinda, but like, no, they don't just show it in a better light, these brigands in these games ARE barbarians, raping and stealing as they please because there's no one to stop them. It's what happens in anarchy without a government. The strong just prey on the weak like the animals that they are.
This whole thing would have been much funnier if it didn't start out as a painfully stupid parody of progressive politics, and instead was just openly "I want to be the bad guy, I want to be the villain of the story and go on a rampage"
Like, I just struggle to find this idea funny - the idea that the bandits are actually just poor, helpless people who have no choice - it's just kinda dumb. Just let bad guys be bad guys dude.
Honestly, it was just kind of a joke, not really anything deeper than that. I wasn't trying to take a dig or parody any political ideology whatsoever, if it came off that way then I'm sorry it wasn't the intent.
If you didn't find the joke funny, that's okay, ultimately it's not big deal. Different strokes for different folks.
9:30 Damn, the opponents are on "Casual mode"
24:09 That may have been the point. Generic bandits aren't relevant in the story, they're just meant to be idiots for the player to kill, and that's it
Duke Sadeas is def a stormlight archive reference
Who taught you how to say "resurrect"
Pronunciation police in the comment section spotted. Who taught you manners, little bro? 🤣
1:00 Even ignoring that the lord being useless in certain titles is only a gameplay thing, like 3.5 of the games you put up on screen have undebatably solid or really good lords/main character units. I think Ikes pretty good too, but I know he's a bit more shakey than some of the better lords.
Wait the ingame music playing at 22:50 or so is the basic boss theme of final fantasy X
Could be, I'm not familiar with that OST, but I believe the mod creator used music from all around.
@@kratosmvn_ yea, I heard the chapter 12 from 3 houses later on
Kratos at the end of the failed cavern passage run: "....Rom hack maker? Yeah... I'd like a refund on all the time I wasted on this damn chapter because you lied to me....
I felt extremely betrayed by the game, but what should I have expected from bandits, liars are to be expected.
I still can’t get over Ulrich’s color palette. It’s like the GBA version of The Black Knight but with… moderately lower stats. 👀
It looks sooooo cool!
A question, how can I play it, catches my attention and when I go to the link and download it, it doesn't appear
You need to download the NUPS patcher and patch a copy of Sacred Stones.
Blue collar brigands lol
1:00 hey you take that back byleth pulls their weight..... granted she probably doesn't weigh much
I was expecting a "reverse playthrough" hack of one of the GBA games but I guess this works too.
"Poor working-class bandits" 😂
I am a man of the people!
We need more green wyverns, such a nice green color
It does pop, and look very neat.
Who could forget the epic highs and epic lows of Bandit Emblem Stream.... I really admire the dev's commitment to the concept, playing every single mechanic straight and just changing the team you control. It would be especially cool to see more games with the Purple Unit mechanic, being npcs that attack both you And the enemy.
It was an awesome stream through and through.
I'm really thankful of the dev's work on this it was really fun. The purple unit mechanic could be a very fun addition with extra layers for example if your enemy gets to the leader first they turn into a red unit or something.
My mind is depraved, because when I hear about ye olden days bad guys being actually competent and a genuine threat, I automatically assume the plot is about to become the most heinous and degen it can possibly be what with all of the attractive and soon to be defenseless female characters in fire emblem. Males too if youre into that shit.
I like to say Roy is probobly the few characters in the FE series that doesn't consider him a super hero in anyway. he's young, inexperienced, and has depression.
So does anything change if you make different choices?
I don't think so, as far as I know the only alterations you may get is that losing one or two characters might simply remove their story bits in between chapters.
i downloaded the file but idk what app im supposed to use to play it, pls someone tell me
Your commentary is great.
I think it would help if you had potential viewers know that the video is more in the style of an essay, not a let's play.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who expected raw footage but still clicked because I know your other videos. Maybe you could increase your viewerbase if people could tell the difference from the video title. Just a thought.
Thank you.
To be honest, I don't know why you'd expect a let's play from this, given that nothing in the title or thumbnail indicates anything related to a let's play... If you know my style of video this is pretty much inline with what I usually do for Solo Runs (with added bits of live commentary) or what I did for the FE Roguelike video (it's even titled similarly to that). I'm showcasing a romhack where you play as the bandits and kind of breakdown my experience, the only way to 'indicate' that better than what I titled it there would be with a generic title like 'Bandit Emblem Showcase' and no one would click on that title.
Thank you for the feedback though.
@@kratosmvn_ The reason is that many RUclipsrs have started to make video titles that say "This game where you do this is amazing!!!", but it's just some quickly cut together let's play footage without proper narration.
I see this type of content suggested relatively often. It may be due to my personalized recommendations, but still.
I only comment because I think your content is of higher quality than that and to my mind you're selling yourself short from the perspective of viewers who are desensitized to titles like that.
Of course, what you do with that info is up to you. I'll still enjoy your videos either way.
I actually had no idea that was a trend for these types of videos. Thank you for informing me. I'll look into it and think about maybe naming these types of videos differently.
May-be. I mean your roguelike vid has 88k views, 3rd most watched even with the solo runs as competition and the title is "I attempted this AWESOME Fire Emblem Roguelike...", which to me sounds kinda clickbaity, but maybe you're alright and I'm just overreacting because I'm fed up with RUclips recommending me stuff I don't actually wanna watch.
In any case, I wish you success and have a good one.
Thank you very much. The titles for all my video has some clickbaity aspects to them, but I think that's okay as long as the video delivers on what is promised in the title. I always try to make sure that my videos have this clickability to the title/thumbnail, but I never want to leave anyone disapointed feeling like they didn't get what I advertised.
But I understand it can be frustrating to click on a bunch of videos with similar titles and simply get something that doesn't remotely feel like what is being advertised.
Thank you for your kind words :)
oh you're feeling the pain of the ennemies with the way accuracy favor the player by having numbers less than 50% accuracy actually be less than they indicate and more than 50% are more than they indicate, it's pretty funny =p
