The reason I’ve heard why there’s no SpongeBob land or attractions is because universal fears by the time they actually get one built SpongeBob might not be as popular
@@brandonthetoyandgamecollector Interesting. Meanwhile they have that super old comics section with Popeye and stuff. I think SpongeBob would remain popular for a very long time.
I used to have Nick Jr and other Nickelodeon tapes as a young kid, but didn’t really watch them. I now have almost 100 VHS tapes, and almost a dozen being Nickelodeon tapes, with 3 Oranges.
Didn’t know that congrats to her it’s kinda funny how many people don’t know that both Jimmy and Timmy Turner are voiced by women I mean Timmy is legit voiced by the same actress who plays Harley Quinn (it’s Tara Strong btw)
Universal definitely rolled the dice with Jimmy Neutron as the main star for the ride. I guess at the time when it opened it was unknown for how long the lifespan of the character would be. Spongebob definitely would have been the safer pick, it could still possibly be at the park to this day
Well it was because of the Jimmy Neutron movie that just came out two years prior, that’s what inspired the ride, there was no random pick. They just saw how well the movie did for the budget it was working with, as well as the fact that it was nominated for the academy award of best animated film which led Universal to see a future market for Jimmy Neutron.
That is really strange that Spongebob and Dora still have a slight presence there at Universal. I wonder how much longer that's going to last with Nintendo coming in to really take over the kids areas.
You’re awesome for doing this. Edit after watching: Those shows aren’t just some of the most popular on the network, they are the most popular of all time. Great work as always.
3:50 I've Used To Love Watching Nickelodeon's Doug On CITV When I Was A Kid. Classic Children's Animated Cartoon Television Series Of All Time Back In 1991. Thanks Theme Park History Mate. X
Don’t forget Jimmy/Tommy Power hour, Code Name Kids Next Door crossing over with Billy & Mandy and Lilo & Stitch meeting the cast of Recess, The Proud Family, American Dragon & Kim Possible.
It was so much fun! I loved this ride so much! I used to live across the street so i used to go all the time when i lived in orlando. I was so disappointed when they decided to change it
I only started going to universal studios quite recently (like 5 years ago) so i never not to experience this ride. I wish i could’ve though, i i know i would’ve loved it! Btw, that hoopla/spongebob reference was perfection.
I find this whole thing very interesting. A couple of months before it was over we went to both the Nick Hotel and Universal Studios. I loved it so much we went on it twice. I have always been a huge fan of Nickelodeon and would love to see something similar in the future. Even if they just sprinkle Cosmo and Wanda somewhere around the SpongeBob store. I’m not going to lie and say Nickelodeon isn’t a dying brand but I still love it nonetheless.
I love the play by play description of this ride. If I wasn't a Nick fan, I'd think that description is absolutely bonkers and wonder if you were making shit up as you go lmao
We have had a lot of goods times at Universal Studios, I'm glad they made it. I do miss some of the old rides, but you can't expect it to stay the same forever.
I have been on a mission since I was 11 to find the music from this ride. I loved the music; the mashup of the different themes was always a joy to listen to, but I've never been able to find the track, or even the composer of the ride.
Hi! I really enjoy your videos. Your voice is very relaxing. I was wondering, since it's the season.. Can you do some videos based on the history of things like Halloween Horror Nights, Mickey's Not So Scary, and Knott's Scary Farm?
Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any Nickelodeon Characters and Merchandise in Universal Studios Hollywood anymore but they are still in Universal Studios Florida
I would LOVE to see a video on Diagon Alley and Escape from gringots! i think many people have forgotton that most of that attraction was built on (and in the old water pool) of Jaws. I think it would be awesome too see ho universal incorporated all that area where Jaws once was!
This rides a classic. The end of nick at universal that’s for sure. But this ride was going to be outdated once the show ended and most of the characters were getting old except sponge bob.
If they would have made this today, they could have let The Loud House be the theme of the ride. Lisa Loud is Royal Woods's resident Jimmy Neutron and it could also use different ride films which focuses on different Nicktoons each time kind of like Star Tours.
I’ remember getting on this . But I’m so pissed I did not know Nickelodeon studios was behind this ride. I had it set in mind it was far away In the park. 😭😭😭😭😭 I’m so pissed man ... we rode this ride then left because it started raining hard. We got there early at opening hour , it was so empty with no line
The cancellation of Danny Phantom, Rocket Power, Cat Dog, Ah! Real Monsters, Angry Beavers, and the Wild Thornberrys was almost as big a crime as the production of the shows that replaced them (like Zoey 101).
With Halloween around the corner, you should do a Theme Park History of one of the greatest Halloween theme park shows ever...Dead Man's Party at Six Flags Great Adventure.
A key bit of information missing in the description of the creation of Jimmy Neutron is the name STEVE OEDEKERK. He was instrumental in the development of the film and television series. Awesome video still!
@@DoswarePictures I'm not sure what that has to do with this but ok. I really like Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Also his film Kung Pow! Enter the Fist is a masterpiece of comedy filmmaking. But this isn't about those projects. Was simply stating that Oedekerk's name was missing in the description of how Jimmy was brought to the screen.
Caboose Wannabe I first thought you misspelled “dumb” but the remembered those random specials with thumbs Cartoon Network aired sometime around 2008-2009.
Miss having Nickelodeon in the park. How there isn’t a Spongebob land is beyond me, he has staying power.
There was supposed to be one at Universal Dubai but the plans for the park fell through.
Or like at least an actual Krusty Krab burger place. I mean a big missed opportunity.
Viacom
Last time I was this early nicktoon blast was still open
You haven’t been early in awhile
It's gone for Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
The ORANGE vhs tapes WOW. I had completely forgotten about that. Great video!
I used to have Nick Jr and other Nickelodeon tapes as a young kid, but didn’t really watch them. I now have almost 100 VHS tapes, and almost a dozen being Nickelodeon tapes, with 3 Oranges.
I feel oddly lucky (and old) to have gone on every iteration of this ride. The Hannah Barbera version was my very first theme park attraction.
Childhood memories, I rode on this back in 2006, and BTW, this was uploaded on the birth of Jimmy Neutron's voice actress, Debi Derryberry.
Really?
Happy (late-) birthday to the wonderful, Debi Derryberry!
Didn’t know that congrats to her it’s kinda funny how many people don’t know that both Jimmy and Timmy Turner are voiced by women I mean Timmy is legit voiced by the same actress who plays Harley Quinn (it’s Tara Strong btw)
@@quietdemon8138 Tommy Pickles, Ash Ketchum, Bart Simpson & Dexter are also voiced by women.
That is the best name

@LSpongebob was undoubtedly more popular and if the ride was themed to him it likely would still be there
I think with SpongeBob it would be harder to make a story where you could have had all those nicktoons cameos
Jimmy Neutron was my jam back then along with classic SpongeBob, Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, CatDog, Rocket Power, and so much more.
That is really strange that Spongebob and Dora still have a slight presence there at Universal. I wonder how much longer that's going to last with Nintendo coming in to really take over the kids areas.
Thanks for doing this ride this was my all time favorite ride at Universal as a kid. I like it way more than minion mayhem
I’d love to see a video about the history of Space Mountain. Always thought that ride was so neat (and slightly scary)
JurassicAustin he’ll need to cover all the different versions worldwide. The Florida version is basically “Space Matterhorn” lol
You’re awesome for doing this.
Edit after watching: Those shows aren’t just some of the most popular on the network, they are the most popular of all time. Great work as always.
Your Dedication to these Videos Have always been awesome. Thanks for the Video!
8:53 BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES BRO I loved nick toons

HOOPLA!!!!!!!!
The Toonz Channel HOOPLA! (In all seriousness, that was a nice touch to the video)
That got me
Was the gun in the actual episode?
Nope, it was added in.
CN city,House of mouse,Nicktoon blast.
i get to remember when the early 2000's was about shared animated universes.
Don’t forget Jimmy/Tommy Power hour, Code Name Kids Next Door crossing over with Billy & Mandy and Lilo & Stitch meeting the cast of Recess, The Proud Family, American Dragon & Kim Possible.
Rugrats and the Wild Thornberrys has an entire movie dedicated to them meeting up.

The Jimmy Neutron ride was my favorite ride at Universal. It was also my mother's favorite ride along with Shrek 4-D

The music you used in this video is amazing. That song from doug with flute... I almost cried hearing it lol great video cant wait for the next one
This was one of my favorite shows/ attractions as a kid. I miss it
I miss the Nickelodeon Blast Zone at Hollywood. And the Nick hotel. And I'm sad I never got to see Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast.
In the gift shop they had a nice collection of Nickelodeon Studios props which was cool, shame both closed

I’ve been requesting this since day 1! Great vid!
Called it! Also, thanks again for including this episode
Thank you for the awesome shout out you are the best ride history RUclips ever 😎😎😎😎

Please do Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin next! It's my favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom!
Please do shrek 4D or Escape from gringotts!!!
Hi It’s meee I’d like to know more about the ride system for escape from gringotts. I’ve never been to universal in Florida.
I was waiting for the for ages dude!
Rides like this makes me wish I lived in Orlando
I liked still seeing Rugrats plushies as some of the prizes in the games at Islands of Adventure when I went a few weeks ago
Kevin: "Doesn't that hurt you?" Spongebob: "Do you want it to hurt me Kevin?"😂
1:46 “subtle foreshadowing” ahh
This was my mom’s favorite ride! We always had to ride it when we entered the park and right before we left. She was so upset when it closed!
Oh god, the nostalgia in the titles of all those cartoons! I'm not crying, you're crying! 😭

4:15 The Nicktoon VHS deal was originally with Sony Wonder until Viacom bought the rights to Paramount.
Thank you for doing this one
4:16 They actually partnered with Sony, then Paramount, then was bought by Paramount
It was partnered with Sony, Paramount and Fox.
It should not refuse to Air weekly animated cartoons from 1980 to the present day.
This makes me miss the old Nickelodeon 😭
“Gotta blast!”
I miss this ride really much 😞
I always got the feeling Nickelodeon thought jimmy neutron was going to be bigger than it was.
THANK YOU AGAINNNN

I’d love to see a possible big thunder mountain railroad from Disney’s Magic Kingdom for next video
That gunshot

Into the stars, fueled by candy bars. Rides a kid with a knack for inventions.
Disney & HP Nerd 07 This is the theme song called, Jimmy Neutron!
Some lyrics are a bit off, but I’ll still take it.

very funny lol
pfft i am laughing my butt off at the hoopla sound XD
I love this ride and nicktoon was my childhood until 2013 when it was nothing but dan Schneider shows and spongebob episodes
This is better than the minions, i wish they could bring it back or release the footage on a blu ray jimmy neutron collection, something anything!
I feel the same way for the Jimmy Neutron movie commentary with Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen.
Can u do Shrek 4D thx also keep up going with your work I enjoyed watching
