Hi you mentioned that the CVS Clear Zinc SPF 50 did not contain oil..... caster oil on the label. The formula is almost identical to the Walgreens Sensitive Sunscreen with the only difference being it IS oil free. I really like both and recently discovered the CVS version. So far I am loving the CVS product more probably because the oil seems to reduce the cast and provides an emollient.
Thank you for the info! Castor oil does have some researched anti-aging skin benefits. I like the CVS version, other than it causing some irritation around my eyes.
Of course! I hope this video has been helpful. Please do let me know if you would like to see any reviews on any other products you might be interested in :)
I mix the CVS Clear Zinc SPF 50 + CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 Sheer Tint 💚 It looks so good. The texture is great. You can adjust to your own color & likeness. Also, I like your method of placing skincare products as Dots around your face, and then rubbing in 👍
Yep, if your eyes are super sensitive like mine, then it will burn. If I use any of these on my face, I’ll use a separate mineral sunscreen around/on the eyes.
Do we need to use sunscreen at night if we are around light bulbs? If so would the tinted sunscreen be enough to wear at night or would you recommend layering a zinc oxide based sunscreen with a tinted sunscreen?
That’s a good question. Ideally, you would want to wear a tinted mineral sunscreen until you wash your face before you go to bed. Indoor lighting does induce free radical production in the skin, which may theoretically contribute to the visible aging process.
I bought the cvs zinc lotion , when I rubbed in my skin I felt I was on fire . What could that be ? I’ve used other sunscreens with those filters and ingredients and nothing has happened before
It could very well be the octocrylene. That tends to be a major cause of skin burning, as well as burning around the eyes. The best thing to do is avoid that filter. Or, it could be the way the sunscreen is formulated in relation to that filter, since you said you've never experienced a reaction like that before. A good alternative, albeit a little pricier, is the combination sunscreens from EltaMD and DRMTLGY. They use octinoxate, which tends to be less offensive.
Same here, the first week I used it it was good, but then I notice it started burning only on my cheek bones area, no where else, now I have to use it on my body 😣
The CVS lotions SPF 70 and 100 actually contain Avobenzone and Oxybenzone. That combo is most definitely a superior UVA protector than Zinc Oxide particularly if Zinc Oxide is below 10%
@VANITY Yes they are good against UVA. Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation about chemical sunscreens, particularly among influencers. But in reality chemical filters do provide better protection. These ones in particular are high SPF sunscreens with the highest Avobenzone/Oxybenzone concentrations allowed. Neutrogena SPF 85 with similar filter concentrations has the highest known UVA protection factor for a US sunscreen.
I see some of my favs! Great video, sometimes it’s better to get the store brand. The CVS clear zinc in the tube is 4 ounce, the tub is 2 ounce that’s why the price difference :)
omg yes lol I realized the size differences when I was editing XD But I love the clear zinc! Gotta be careful not to get to close to my eyes -- octocrylene is a bit irritating!
CVS CLEAR Zinc LOTION 50 is by far one of my top sunscreen I use and you bet i use my coupons when I buy this too. I have tired other brands and other cvs sunscreens brands and always have to return. This is my holy grail and just works for my skin and i an even put on my eyelids and not irritation for me and it dose take a a few mins for it to settle in but I really love this Formula and I can also put my makeup over it with no issues. I also recommend this to folks too and remind the importance of sunscreen and why it’s important. Also folks get shocked at how old im really am and they think im way younger but i tell them thanks to sunscreen its the #1 beauty secret and along with drinking lots of water. Thank you so much fro doing a good review and informative on these products and this product is super underrated. Save money and my skin and im all about it. Hope this made sense. Also i love the jar too. Thank you for the great content and i stumble on here from a google search.
Mine too! I think I'm going to get some more for a trip I'm taking to Texas and Arizona this summer. It really holds up. I personally can't use it on my face, though, because my eyes are super sensitive to this product. Thank you for coming here, watching, and giving a comment! Really appreciate it.

Thank you, I ended up returning the one I had originally bought and got the CVS 50 SPF instead 😂
Haha well I hope it works out for you!

Sprays are great for kids but you do have to get them very wet.
They can definitely be easier, as long as you're covering every square inch! Thanks so much for your comment :)
Great video! Well done! I like the CVS field trip!
Haha trying to get out of the house more in these vlogs!
