My daughter was born 30 years ago, back when we had to wind up the swing and it would only rock for 15 minutes! I would literally sleep in 15 minute increments, she was so colicky😭😂

I’m pregnant with baby #4 right now and I found everything you said so true! Soooo much of it the baby stuff is not necessary and it’s SO easy to acquire either by borrowing or inexpensively. Even cribs- you can use a pack and play and then it’s multi-use!

My 3rd grand daughter was born 2 weeks ago and the 3yr old is the challenge. We are always having to protect the baby from all the "Loves"! The 5 year old can't wait to help with diapers. Love you girks so much! Big hugs to both of you!!

It took me 8 years to get my doctorate. I was the only person working full time in my program. It was before I was married and had kids.

Another thing about all the baby gear. If things work fine, then just go with it. There are always going to be better bassinets, clothes, toys, gadgets, etc. but so many times the stuff you have any way works fine!

I’m 35, c-section scheduled for 2 weeks from now, I have an 11 and 12 year old. I’m so excited to see the different dynamic, will be soooo different than having a new baby a week after my 1st turned 1!

💖💙Please donate gently used or new baby items to your local pregnancy resource center/ crisis pregnancy center. When newly pregnant moms see how many things their baby can get for free, it COULD LITERALLY SAVE THE BABY'S LIFE!! 💖💙 Especially in this terrible economy, sadly so many babies lose their life to abortion because moms are so desperately in need of some HELP that you can easily provide by donating your outgrown baby items!

The carseats that snapped into the stroller base, and you didn't have to take baby out of the carseat and put them in the stroller was available when I had mine. Maybe my second or third? But I didn't want one! My first was a puker, projectile. I need multiple seats with removable washable covers!
I had a sprinkle for my last one, after SHE! (only girl) was born! We asked for a new swing because our old one was seriously old. We got it and she hated it. hahah!
I did use a larger swaddle to cover my seat so I could pull it off and wash it.

Oh my goodness! Baughers was a staple of my childhood! Our family moved years ago but I have to go every time we come back to visit!

Really enjoy watching your videos together. I pray you have an amazing birth and the kids are super helpful with the new baby. You're blessed to have a fantastic family network. As a car seat technician I love that you have decided against the Doona. It's not great for babies to be in capsules for too long. They should be laid flat wherever possible for sleep. Will be interested to see what you decide on for your vehicle. I'm a little jealous at the size of all the US vehicles. In NZ our vehicles are all very small and not many large vehicles to suit bigger families easily. One of the biggest over here is the Kia Carnival. I just love that you can alter configurations etc in your vehicles so easily.

We have used the doona for my grandbabies they are extremely heavy. I would not recommend. Once baby starts to grow. Man alive you gotta have muscles for that beast. ❤

Put some laundry powder in your saucepan and simmer it on the hob. I used to teach high school cookery - this clean any burnt pot.
Doing the same with baking soda works wonders

Congratulations! Poshmark can be a very tempting place if you are not against purchasing someone else owned first. I have relied on it for pre-owned garments in excellent condition that I know are brands that fit me, but I have it under control and have bought only a couple pairs of pants in the past 2 years that are my best brand and size. It beats going out and shopping for me.
I always ask for diapers and wipes for presents.
You can also rent the snoo I think too
My baby was 26 years ago and he wouldn’t nap without the stroller. We bought an inexpensive 3-wheeler that was great. I walked an hour or two for his morning and afternoon naps. We met a large group of neighbors who started a playgroup and shared baby equipment.
Suggest you replace the pan with a stainless steel aluminum clad version. Safer and will last forever. Viking professional or All Clad are worth the cost. I only have one small frying pan with nonstick coating for eggs.

Awww so excited. My 1st I was induced the 2nd baby they broke my water and baby was out in 1 hour. And my 3rd i barely made it to the hospital be careful and I lived sooo close and I still gave birth in the triage 😂. I just donated my baby swing this year to my church 🥲. And the jumper. I still had baby showers because the 2nd was a boy then my third was a girl and by then I had passed all the oldest sister clothes and still had boy clothes. So I still needed all the clothes. With my oldest I had so many hand me downs. I was able have a more minimal wardrobe this time around.
Can't wait to meet baby #4. I'm sure he'll be just as gorgeous as your other three. Congrats!

baby number, we thought we needed all the stuff, diaper genie and everything. By baby number 4, we realized we didn't need most of it, plus, like Diana says, we don't go anywhere bc getting a baby and three other kids out the door for anything other than church is impossible so we just don't bother. By #4 all we want is ease, practicality and comfort. plus, every single kid is different so adjusting for each baby is essential. Good Luck and blessings. Remember grace is a mother's best friend.

I LOVED making a baby registry and finding the deals on used baby gear on marketplace. I just had to everything before the birth. But I refined that list to the “essentials” 🤪

Same Dawn! Just had our first cia c-section two weeks ago and the clutter was almost as overwhelming as being a new mom. I've thrown so much out and cleaned up and now things feel doable again.

So I just had a little boy back in July. He’s my third and my other two are 9 and 10. 🤣 so I had to buy everything again and there really wasn’t anyone around me to give me hand me downs. Which was fine. It was a lot like having your first again. But one of the things I did was wait to see what I ended up needing. I knew things like a stroller and Muslin wraps. And I knew I didn’t want a bunch of clothes. But I ended up buying way more cuz this kid is the spit up king of the world. We went through 5 outfits yesterday. I am totally a mom that dresses my kids is more than just sleepers. But he gets soo hot that I haven’t been able to put him in much more than a onesie. I can’t wait until it’s colder so he can wear clothes. 🤣
We took our portable sound machine to the hospital. It helped me sleep instead of listening to every noise my baby made.

My niece just had her 1st baby 2 wks ago & on her registry, she put a $15 Carhart hat. I laughed & said bo one is gonna buy a $15 hat for a newborn. Well, jokes on me because someone did. CrAzY! 😅🤪

I hated the "straight jacket" effect of the snoo when I saw my grandbaby in it. He struggled to transition into a crib at 6 months. I am sure its just my age and not wanting to see a "mechanical" bed taking the place of what a mommy and daddy can do. (rocking their babies) Blessings on your new little!! 💙
I’m so jealous watching, we didn’t have a baby shower for any of my kids. Who would normally organize that? I purchased everything myself for the first, hardly anything extra for the second baby. Good luck Diana 🎉
Church or family are the top baby shower hosts. I think I’ve heard of neighborhood groups hosting baby showers, or maybe office friend groups, but I can’t think of anything beyond that.
