Incidents don't count after the race when the timer has reset. If you see it jump to 45 minutes time left then safety rating has been deactivated and you can do whatever you want. (Timer resets after everyone has crossed the line)

Yup, that is important to note. I should've said that they keep counting until everyone has passed the finish line.

Good video man. I’m starting to plan my adventure into iRacing and this is good information. I’ll subscribe and learn some more. It’s cool when others help others.

Hey thanks really much for the video! I'm currently a rookie and I have worried about my SR so much I literally ended up loosing SR until I watched this video! Thanks for the advice, really helpful!

I bought iracing on steam sale for $35.99nzd for a year or about $22usd, so about $1.80usd a month. New members only but will sometime just get the account transfered off steam and to web account like many before me. Great deal.

The SR/IR part of the video was pretty spot on. I would say yes, there are better cars in the higher license classes, but the rookie series are there to learn car control and racecraft. Also the rookie series should all be free/included content, so you don't have to worry about buying anything extra to race the season. Try to race clean, and push, but let things happen organically. As you get better your SR/IR will go up naturally. Once you get to a certain point you should end up in lobbies on par with your abilities where you can compete for the top, but also be able to run clean (or at least be able to predict some of the chaos, and aviod it... haha). That will help you adjust to get more SR and move up to that next license you are looking for. Good video and good info.

I bought iRacing on Steam in the summer sale, it was £3.99 for a month. I don't know if I will get on with it etc so for a trial that was a good price, and a lot less than from the official site.

Oh wow, that is actually pretty good for a trial

@@fahadsayyedracing yeah I thought so hence going for it. Usual price is £12.99 a month. It is worth noting for anyone reading that I don’t believe the regular iRacing account and steam account are interchangeable, so if you have signed up previously without steam you would have to start again and buy any content you want for a second time.

For anyone who may have bought the wrong car (either legacy or just a wrong car in general), if you reach out to iRacing about the mistake, most likely they will refund the purchase, and you can buy the correct one after :)

Firstly, why exactly should I have not bought iRacing on steam? I bought it for a year for only about 20$ or smth like that quite recently.
Also regarding the safety rating, I do think especially since I just started iRacing a few months ago, but I've been sim racing other titles for years now, that focusing on it, and starting from the pits is a valid strategy, that doesn't meant that you should just drive slowly, drive as fast as you can starting from pits, that way you avoid the early carnage, its like this in every sim title, turn one goofing around is a thing, unfortunately the only reasonable way to fight this in iRacing is starting from the pits because sometimes you have 2 options, don't race for position which is the opposite of what a racing game should promote, or start from the back of the pack, meaning you qualify but invalidate your laps but that sometimes puts you in the middle of the pack, which is the worst place, or just go from the pits, I have raced so much from the pits and I've always finish around 6th place, you can go fast, but you are avoiding the accidents this way, most people will anyways wreck themselves, if you are good and just want to avoid the goofy situations just do not participate in it, and anyways its a thrillfull experience to start from pits and finish in top 6, the fact that I can do this consistently is mad, but its always... yellow flag ahead... and then I see the guy who literally just can't drive. Shame.

      Two reasons for Steam:
      - To be honest, I have never heard about a 20$/year iRacing subscription on Steam. If that is true, I would go for it, but I have heard from a lot of people especially when I was starting out to not buy it from Steam.
      - Online, I have found so many people struggling to use it from Steam. Here's a quote from a thread I found "It’s a buggy mess when it comes to updates and you will end up downloading 100gb over and over." So yeah, that's why.
For the safety rating part, starting from the pits could be valid if you're looking to get a last-minute promotion or stop a demotion, but that just takes the whole purpose out of the safety rating part in my opinion. Learning how to avoid incidents through experience is much more rewarding in the long run. Yes, there are incidents you can't avoid, but that is just part of racing. Starting from the pits pretty much takes away any shot at winning unless you're 1s/lap faster than the lobby or if there's a multi-car crash. Once you start reaching higher SOFs, incidents become less common, and people stop crashing on their own, and you'll be stuck in lower positions like P10-P20 when starting from the pits.
      Hope this made sense 👍

actually, after you do one whole lap after the race, incidents don't count. so just wait till you finish the lap to have fun and celebrate doing burnouts

Just to clarify tho, if someone doesnt see you or spins unintentionally, no need to report that. Intentional wrecking, sure, but mistakes happen especially in lower liscence series. Thats normal and thats how you learn, and it happens irl literally every race too. I see way too many C, B and A class drivers going into rookies and then crying like they could never have expected that there would be wrecks. Dont be an idiot, and dont be toxic reporting beginner mistakes.

    • @fahadsayyedracing
      @fahadsayyedracing  29 дней назад +1

Yup, I 100% agree with you. Both mistakes and racing incidents happen, and they are simply a part of racing. Sometimes it's better to let it go and learn from the incident.
