The little hose and boot coming off of the intake box is the vacuum line for the fuel pressure regulator. If it’s badly cracked it’ll definitely cause an issue with engine performance!! Individually pulling the pigtail connector on each coil while the engine is running is a quick way to find out if there’s a bad coil. If the idle changes the coil is good. If the idle doesn’t change, boom, there’s your bad coil or bad spark plug. 👍 glad the coils and plugs are easy to change on these inline engines!
Yes most definitely! And I told my dad that and he said let’s go ahead and change them, he figured they probably swapped coils over from the original motor and with 240xxx miles probably a good idea!
The Factory Coils are Far Better Quality then those Cheap China Made Ones I put the Factory ones Back I have seen so many People Change the Coils and use Cheap china Made ones and not lasting a Year
I have the same issue with my 06 and got a crank shaft and camshaft sensor code as well. I also got a spark plug and throttle body code. I cleaned the throttle body yesterday it runs ablittle better but not much difference. today I was going to buy the ignition coils and spark plugs even though the plugs didn't look to bad. I haven't took a magnet to test the crank sensor yet . I was going to do the plugs first. But after watching your video I'm thinking about skipping the plugs and going right into the crank or cam. My fingers can't take the cold for over 30 mins due to in severe in injuries to a few of them leading to very pour circulation and causes intense pain. And can't stop in the middle of a job and come back to it so I want to get this right. did you ever figure out what was causing the rough idle on your Father's truck? I didn't see a part 2 to your video...
I recently cleaned my throttle body while still attached. Now I am getting starting problems. The truck runs fine when it starts. Its after its shut off it won't start back up until some time has passed. Any tips? Its an 05 Colorado
It's Super Easy compared to replacing a timing chain on a Ford Sport trac with the 4.0 the engine has to be removed it has a timing chain in front and back of the engine
@@TheGMMan my 04 has low idle, and shut off at a red light, but other than that it is great. I replaced the coil packs several years ago, but I guess I need to replace the plugs again, It has 360K on it now. I will look into the sensor. Thank you for your help. I hit all your buttons and a thumbs up.

@@TheGMMan they’d probably have another 200k left in ‘em, right? 😂😂😂
Yea correct just like my spark plugs 👀👀😬😬

I needed to hear the before and after

Thanks! Good luck if you have questions feel free to ask!
What ended up being wrong with your Father's truck was it the crank shaft or cam shaft sensor
I replaced both of them. I just went ahead and did them at the same time. So one of them fixed it. Now which one was it I’m not sure. Haha

Sounds like a spark plug problem. Pull them and make sure you didn’t foul them
Sounds like a bad ignition switch especially if your getting the little passlock light blinking
Wait until the timing chain needs replaced, i did mine and it will make you want to scrap the truck lol
Was fine when it had a new motor lol

Your air filter box is different than mine
Curious on where you got that from?
Believe it’s the factory box. The guy my dad bought it from(his friend) never changed anything
@The GM Man really? Mine is different than aging its a 2012 gmc Model
Yes newer design on yours
What was the final solution?
Cam and crack sensor needed replaced

Thanks! Yes I’d pull plugs and check them!
