I flown on Bamboo, well a lot. Mostly from the Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne ones, their service is quite nice in economy, and lastly on the premium economy sector from Melbourne back home before Christmas. I like the service onboard, and their 45kg check bag policy really nails it. Not only that, but Bamboo Airways has to compete with Thai Airways, and its competitor in home turf... Vietnam Airlines.
we flew bamboo last july in vietnam, it was a pleasant experience (we were in econ)! And we flew thai airlines (biz) back to taipei, and they were delayed by 3 hours and overall a poor experience, with their planes really showing wear/tear even in biz class.
Good to see you review Bamboo. I have flown them domestically here in Vietnam, and liked their service. I usually fly from SGN to LON with either Etihad, Qatar or Vietnam Airlines. I have been thinking whether or not to give Bamboo a try on my next trip to London, and your video has given me food for thought. I once flew Vietnam Airlines SGN- LHR ; SGN, and their service was just ok compared to Eitihad and Qatar. I think that they think that by being direct flight operators, they can cut corners and remain competitive. I hope that both Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo will raise their game on these long-haul flights.
I was just at Gatwick more than three weeks ago and also flew Bamboo Business to Saigon. But it was there new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which I guess has a bit more room because the infotainment display is not curved.
Good video as always. Just wondering, is it worth it to upgrade buy paying at check-in or a day or so before your flight. Is upgrading general cheaper if you don't buy it full at the beginning? I know points and all can get free business or first class. Just wondering if you just wanna pay since I don't have enough points atm
Many airlines will let you bid on upgrades and if you outbid other passengers you'll often get accepted. Bid what you think is fair and sometimes you may get the upgrade. I'm not sure if Bamboo Airways allows it though
Ricky, have you flown on Breeze Airways? I would love a video on behind the scenes of a travel vlogger, or a youtube/instagram vs reality video. Show all the work that goes into creating the uploaded videos.

Sadly, Bamboo suspended all oversea flights. This experience is just a nostalgia.

Good to know! I think Bamboo Airways has a bright future for sure
@@_Ricky Yeah, I think they'll soon join any alliance, probably Star Alliance

Great news - this channel will evolve in 2023 to encapsulate some of that :)
What was the cost / any hacks?
Bamboo Airways is a relatively new Aeroplan partner so you can use Aeroplan points :)
You should compare Vietnam airlines with thai , that will be fair than bamboo 😂
I have actually heard of bamboo airways, that's why I'm watching.
Another travel vlogger Jayden Wong has flown Bamboo several times and his experiences have been hot and cold.
