Many of you are still asking about different things, so I'll try to answer the most frequent questions here: [1] How did I name him? Taz (like the Tasmanian Devil). [2] Did I check if there are more kittens under the bridge? I didn't check but Taz and I were there for good 30 min making a lot of noise. If there were any more kittens, for sure they were going to come out eventually too. Taz came along later very easily, way too easily. I don't think he was going to leave behind so easily other kitten/kittens. He must have been alone there. [3] Why did I have cat treats with me? I carry dog and cat treats with me on these hikes as part of my usual equipment. I had some very serious encounters with barking dogs, so I use the treats to bribe such beasts. But sometimes I will meet sweets cats or dogs too, and I would offer them the treats if not already used on barking dogs. [4] What is 21K? 21K is 21 kilometers (21 km). That's the distance of a half-marathon. 21 km is equal to 13 miles. [5] Did I really hike 21 km that day? No, I actually hiked around 27-28 km (around 17 miles). The river itself had the length of 21 km, but I had to reach the place where it breaks ground first, which was about 6 km. [6] Where is this, what country? It's in Europe, the Balkans. Which country exactly is not that important, I would like to hike all over Europe anyway. [7] Why did I hesitate so much? What's wrong with me? Well, keep in mind that I just hiked 27-28 km (17 miles) before little Taz decided to "attack" me with all the cuteness. I was beyond tired at that moment. I couldn't think straight, probably couldn't think at all. Yes, he was little but not a helpless few days old kitten lets say, and he looked healthy and uninjured. Yes, he was very hungry, but somehow it didn't feel like a life-and-death kind of situation. Or I wasn't reading it correctly. Again, I couldn't even think, I was very tired. [8] Why not simply take him to a shelter? Did I really consider leaving him? To be honest it didn't even cross my mind that this is an option. I think shelters over here have a real bad reputation and many people would even prefer to simply abandon their pets than take them to a shelter, in a way the pet will have the better chances out there than in a shelter. I don't know, it's a complex topic. But back then I felt like really having only two options: either I leave him, or take him with me to be my cat. [9] You staged the whole thing! That was already your cat! Not really a question, but I will answer it anyway. No, I didn't stage it. I am not that smart (or stupid) to do something like that. What you see is what happened. My camera was already on, so I simply kept filming. If all that was to happen off camera, I was probably not even going to turn it on. [10] Did I really try to run away from Taz? I was kind of running out of ideas what to do, so I eventually did try to simply run away too. But not once, I tried it three times. The first two tries Taz was surprisingly more than able to keep up with me and didn't work at all. The third time he stayed a little bit behind and if I was to keep running, I was going to be free. But I stopped myself and went back to him. That's when I finally decided he is coming with me for good. All that was before we were walking to the car (7:07). What I said that I couldn't run away from him is true both figuratively and literally I guess.
If this goes on like that, I might not be able to answer all comments. Sorry about that. And many thanks to everybody for watching and commenting, it's incredible how many people like our little story. Taz will come back, I am waiting for the right time and place. If he enjoys the hike, we'll do many more. Special thanks to @JacksonGalaxy for the million tips and @BeckyMarshallDesign for the litter box one ( ruclips.net/video/LhgynG941D8/видео.html&ab_channel=BeckyMarshallDesign )
You came along at the right time! That kitten was so happy to see you and get those treats! That's a smart thing to bring those dogs snacks along on your hikes so dogs don't hurt you. Aww, that poor kitty is crying out - Don't leave me here! I'm starving and I'm all alone! I wonder where its mother went? That's crazy! So glad you took that kitty home. That would've broken my heart if you left that kitten out in the woods to starve to death. You gave it a good home. So glad to see it playing and that you love him. That's great! You're a good man!
@@--Taz-- He is either a stray or someone dumped him, no way he's feral. But he chose you, that's what cats do, and I'm willing to bet with the right training, you may have just found yourself a good hiking buddy. Beautiful coat too. But do read up on the problems with feeding dry food to male cats. There is the high potential for very serious urinary track problems. Some (not all) cats won't go to the water bowl often enough, and the best way to fix that problem is wet food. Best of luck with your new family member, this little guy seems quite sweet.
I too didn’t want or have time for a cat. Instead, I found a 4 week old kitten with a broken jaw, broken tail and a crushed vocal box in an alley. Never thought she’d survive the night. But if she did I’d take her to the vet. Four years later, as I type this she’s sitting at my feet. Follows me around the house, wherever I go. It’s a nice feeling doing something you really don’t want to do and then being rewarded for it day after day.
You’re a hero man. I remember picking up my kitten after work, blind little thing had her eyes crusted over just sitting in front of my car. I couldn’t just let her sit there, probably wouldn’t have lasted the night. Didn’t even know if could really take her in. Genuinely thought she died on the car ride home. Had to syringe feed her for weeks. I can happily say the little bandit made a full recovery and is one my biggest joys daily. May only have one eye but lord is she feisty.
This is so tru I used to not be a cat person until my cat showed up he was barely a couple weeks old I found him outside in the cold and took him in let’s just say I like cats now
I love the "I can't take care of you" then when he gets the kitty home, he buys a cat tower, a soft bed, a kitty bowl, and lots of toys! He's a good kitty dad!
When a kitten scream meows like that as well as devours food like he did, it means the little guy was STARVING! He was desperate, literally clinging to you so you would take him and thank god you did. Surely saved his life as he probably wouldn't have lasted much longer. With how hard he ws purring when you found eachother, his mind was made up.. "Human.. You are mine!"
Same way my old cat adopted me. Just walked right up and started purring. Had white fur as a kitten but grew a tan cream stripe as he got older and healthier. Died during covid. That was a hell of a depressing time.
You saved his life. He was clearly abandoned and starving. He was under the bridge for shelter. He was too social and affectionate. He had human interaction before being abandoned.
When I see a kitten run towards a human expecting to be rescued, it makes me angry. It means that it has been interacting with humans as a source of food, play & protection. Then the kitten was abandoned when it was no longer convenient. People who abandon animals make me very angry.
4:00-6:00 "no, go home to bridge kitty" 10:30-14:58 "he is my cat now, I've bought him toys, a cat tower, taken him to the vet, done research, also dunno where he came from, but he's very sweet and loves people and he is now my baby"
I hope he takes this little guy on hikes so Taz can get out in nature again. Taz would need a leash & halter -collar until he got used to it (until he learned to stick around). Taz could ride in his backpack when he got tired. There is a guy who travels with his cat as he bicycles around Europe, and it makes for such compelling video. I can't imagine my cats living permanently indoors. I've always had a 'Kitty door'.
@@kindlydude We live right next to a large wild area with rattlesnakes and coyotes, so my mom won't let our cat be an outdoor cat, but she loves going out in the backyard on a stationary leash!
I wonder if that tiny little desperate mite didn't stray by accident from his Mother playing maybe she was feral/stray, and then he obviously got lost for a long time maybe a few days? Defending his tender body from foxes, much bigger wild cats, foxes, birds of prey for starters, not to mention vehicles from nearby village! Or perhaps the barely weened then tiny little kitten slipped out of someone's carrier basket by accident? Never to see his siblings again!? Sad. They make a cool interspecies pair I agree time for adventures with harness video series wild camping together? Back out on trail to explore under the mysterious bridge and from whence he came (not my theory) intrepid river he was supposed to get knotted in! I must say that this seems very sus also especially when we see the clip a week later and he talks about how much he weighed and that he weighs 800 grams more than a week ago… so he took the cat home and immediately weighed him…
Him telling the kitty all the bad things about the city and the cat was just like "yay i can climb and cuddle him again" and you could even hear the purring 😭😭
Good intentions of course but if you do intend on keeping him don't feed them salt laden jerky which I assume that was. They truly can't handle that amount of salt and time delay will be worth it. Wonderful effort on your part. Best to you,

This Cat will give you a special kind of Cat Love not every owner gets. The way he attached so quickly to you and he was clearly starving! I have a very strong feeling this kitten has been dumped, the fact it trusts a human so fast and was so hungry says enough. You are a good person for taking it home and caring the kitten. I think it would forever be grateful.

So to us yes they are sort of like people, but also they aren't people at all. I just see them like more like children/babies personally. I foster kittens and I am always moved by people that adopt strays. My guess is that this kitten was 5.5 weeks old and likely dumped by someone. Normally at this age, they would not approach a human unless they have had interaction with humans. My previous batch to the last was 4 about 5 week old kittens and they were semi-feral. They would hide under furniture. It took a week for them to become comfortable. By the time they went to their forever homes at 9 weeks, they were as sweet as kittens get.
It actually CAN change the world...one person at a time. Someone can become inspired by the video and save more cats/kittens/dogs,... It can also inspire people to be kind.
I rescued 4 kitten and a mother 2 were mothers kitten and 2 were in the street sadly the mother died and the 3 kitten found a happy home near my house the lil sister came to the kitten I have they play and sleep together
Safe to say I've NEVER seen a kitten this determined before. He got me screaming "TAKE HIM HOME!" the whole video. Poor little guy looked scared and starved, but he trusted you. You made the right choice, he probably would've died if he got left behind!
Someone dumped him. How’s such a young kitten going to survive out there? I agree he would have died. Everything about him says “pleeease don’t leave me here all on my own”.
That’s because they have something that literally about only 1-2% of people have. A strong intuition and the cat knew he was the right choice based off that which he clearly was.
I love how’s he’s trying to rationalize. “I can’t take you, I live in the city” and then “well if I ever did get a cat or dog, it would be a cat. And look, you match my shirt”❤
The calls the kitten makes in the beginning are distress calls, note the difference between them and the squawky "feed me" sounds later. It's a great early sign that you've found an abandoned animal as opposed to a feral or local stray. He looks so happy with you!
Yeah it's how mom and babies locate each other once they begin to be mobile. I was just thinking how the kitten must have heard his voice when he was narrating for his video, otherwise he might not have come out to just a silent hiker walking around! Poor kitten I'm so glad he's safe now
As a random girl behind a screen that's inlove with animals and wants to adopt a ragdoll kitten / cat I can agree and confirm this is indeed a 10/10 cat

A little over a year ago me and my brother were playing around when we found 3 stray kittens in pretty bad shape. So we took them in, fed them, cared for them, and eventually we gave them to good people we knew for free to take good care of and raise. One of them lives pretty close so it's always nice to see one of the cats, and think that "He might not be alive if me and my brother didn't take the time and effort to care for them and make sure they went on to live amazing life's." Also the one I still get to see is Static, and he is doing amazing! I'm so happy me and my brother found and chose the good route out, even if it wasn't the easiest way. Much love to you for taking in that kitten even when you didn't want to❤.
For those who think this is scripted/fake. I had a person in my neighborhood abandon his 6-7 month old kitten and leave. His next door neighbor told me they were kicking the cat and laughing at it trying desperately to go with them. The cat would come eat and get water at my feral feeding station, then run back to his empty house, hoping his family had returned. One morning my inside cats were extremely interested in something happening outside, and I thought maybe a bird had fallen from a nest. Nope, a coyote was stalking the abandoned kitten. He came running to me screaming, climbed me like a tree, and locked on with all claws. The coyote sat down and watched us, saw his lunch go into the house, and after a few minutes, went on his way. Mynx was named after a device used in a cardiac cath, and he is a healthy 3 year old. He is my best cat, sleeps beside me, and will not go anywhere near a door. His behavior was much like that of Taz those first days …. frantic screaming if I was out of his sight.
That's kind of how I got my Oscar (the very same Oscar who keeps tapping my arm as I write this comment demanding pets). I went to the Humane Society to adopt another kitten (my Lily). When I went into the room to see her, as soon as I walked up to the cat tree she was sleeping on, Oscar jumped onto my shoulder, laid down, and wouldn't move. He was purring so loud and when i tried to grab him, he dug his claws into my shirt. I was like, okay, I guess you're coming home with us. He is 3 now. I got him when he was 2 months old. Like they say, cats choose their owners and this is the most extreme example of that... Out in the middle of no where and a little kitten comes up to you incredibly friendly like you "already own it"
Why not, he chose you, why do you always want to make him go back to the bridge, stop being so mean & just take him with you, you just want to abandon him & look for food on his own, that's not right, are you really that mean🐾🐾🐾🐾
So, I got this video randomly recommended, without having watched anything by this creator and it's a cute video of a cat distribution system at work. Then I click on the creator's name (as I usually do) and I can see a channel filled with cat videos, of the same cat, as an adult. My heart has been warmed and my day has been officially made. A famous youtuber once went for a bike ride, and ended up with a kitten that he took all over the world on his bike journeys. Maybe you can make this little guy your own hiking companion.
While that would be cute its honestly significantly more dangerous. That same guy I believe hqd a video where dogs tried to attack them, and he was able to get away because of his bike. When youre hiking you may encounter various animals, and its not easy to escape them on foot. As a big scary human most animals wont mess with you, but a small cat? Thats a snack for them, and they wont care that youre there.
What I love is how he IMMEDIATELY started purring. From second one he decided you were his. Cats are great at picking up on “Vibes” from body language/smell, so that’s a good sign for you.
Having seen a bit more videos on cat behavior follow "Flatbush Cats" this cat did not just purr because it got good vibes. Cats cannot sense if someone is a good person. But Cats are very observant to the way people speak and move. So lets analyze the cat in the video: 1. Cat is very young 2. Cat is very hungry 3. Cat is very used to human contact This one was probably bought from another person or gotten from a shelter and soon after abandoned. It was probably fed for a few weeks or months by their new owners which is where it learned that the food came primarily from humans. Which is why it begged the RUclipsr for food when they met and devoured it shortly after. It didnt know how to even hunt cause its a housecat. And all the above means it is already very used to human contact so spotting a human it immediately goes up to them cause "Hey I know that thing" probably still not understanding that it was abandoned cause its too young.

This is the funniest video of a kitten choosing a human I have ever seen. You were a goner from the first meow, it just took you awhile to accept that you were chosen and your fate was sealed. Great video, really made my day.
Same thing happened to me. Me and my friend hiked a hill and found 3 kittens abandoned, at first I couldn’t decide which one to pick but I ended up picking all 3 kittens. Now I have them lying here next to me and I can talk my daily troubles to them and they would just stare 😂
My cat found me in much the same way. I didn't have to hike to a bridge, though - the kitten was at my apartment building's entrance, screaming at the top of its lungs, in freezing cold autumn rain. Me and my wife heard him, and, as we opened the entrance into the building, he jumped straight into the hood of my wife's jacket and stayed there, purring. He was also about 2 months old, but quite a bit more underweight. It's heartwarming seeing someone else go through such a similar story. I hope Taz grows up to bring you much more joy and love!
@auschwitzsoccerref.8582 My third cat was found just like this on was, except I was in a car, and the kitten was in the road. When I drove by, he went into a drainage ditch. It was the same for me. My cat Oreo was still young enough to be on milk and she was covered from head to toe in mud and fleas (and looked like a piece of rubber in the road) when I found her on the back roads. Unfortunately she passed away 3-30-20. Hopefully you can be with your little one for far longer than I was able to be with Oreo (black and white domestic shorthair tuxedo cat). It took a huge toll on me emotionally when she passed away (passed away in my arms 😢).
I have 4 rescues at home. A black cat who is now 10 but we found her at about 8 weeks old in a storm so her name is Stormy and triplet Russian Blues who I adopted from a woman giving them away at 6 weeks old. The plan was to find homes for all 3 of them but they were always together snuggling, playing, and sleeping. We assumed they would drift apart and even not like each other as they grew up but that wasn’t the case so the adoptions were cancelled and they are with me as well and are now 5 years old and their names are Smokey, Phoenix, and Ash who is nicknamed “the Pink Demon” because she has a neon pink collar and she is very loud. The triplets like to be on your lap or nugget with each other or with you when it’s bedtime.
I love how most dog owners are like "Yeah my dog is this breed, we got him from a reputed breeder 😌" and cat owners are just like "So I was on this hiking trail, found this sucker by pure random chance, and.... we've been friends since!"
Right! My cat literally wandered onto my mom's boyfriends property as a kitten and almost got eaten by his dog. Then my mom saved him and brought him home to our place to try and find a home for him and he was just like nah I live here now. 3+ years laters he's a great cat, totally chose us lol
I love that you can tell this kitten how you cannot look after him, and he won't like living in the "big ugly city", and many other things to try and dissuade him, but he is clearly telling you "There's NO WAY you are leaving without me!" 🤣 I would guess he may have been abandoned as he's so sociable and already knew how to use the litterbox, and I doubt he would have survived for long in the wilderness on his own. So huge thanks to YOU for saving this little guy! 🙏 🙏 🙏

Or should we say, the trail mix? Your hike may have been 21K, but the journey with your new companion will be a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Cheers to many more miles and snuggles!
Poor little thing - he was screaming a long time to get that hoarse. When the hiker asks, "Where's your Momma?" I'm thinking she's in the river - or at least his brothers and sisters are. It looks so chunky and healthy at the end of the video.
I can tell you from personal experience that cat's that choose and then bond with a person a young age are some of the best companions; as they grow they'll learn your mannerisms and develop their own unique personality based around on how you've raised them. My own cat was found in the dumpster of a restaurant I had worked at, and now nearly 10 years on he's still the best boy ever.
100% true! my best friend of 19 years was a stray kitten when i found him :3 we were inseparable, and could read each other's body language and emotions. there is nothing quite like the bond that forms between a companion animal & parent who raised them!
@@bookscorpion19 years? He must have had a wonderful life with you. I have two cats. A Birman I rescued who has epilepsy (like me 😊) and a horrible girl cat, who hates everyone and everything, who I found alone in a terrible stinking pet shop. I normally wouldn’t buy from a pet store, but I HAD to get her out of there. I then called RSPCA! I didn’t want any other animals to suffer in that place. Hustle, my girl, is Ill mannered, bad tempered, and unfriendly, but adores me. Mickey, my boy, is the sweetest, kindest, most adorable kitty. Both are 14. I adore them. ❤
Just think you went on a hike and came home with a lifetime friend I could tell from the moment he saw you he loved you I'm glad you took him I think he was abandoned
Taz is precious and you two evidently were meant to be together. Believe me, I have two cats and a dog, Taz will be a blessing for you. Thank you for saving Taz!!!
Many years ago my dad went hiking in the middle of nowhere with my brother, and they found a tiny kitten deliberately tied to a tree!! 🤬 It is a miracle she was found, this sweet tortie baby, she turned into a very grumpy girl but was very well loved and taken care of for the rest of her long life ❤
Many of you are still asking about different things, so I'll try to answer the most frequent questions here:
[1] How did I name him?

@@ALUMINIUMOXIDDE Yes, with the ferocious kitty jumping out on the trail. Thank God no lives were lost, and they all lived happily ever after.

Same. I was saying to take baby home, too!
Someone dumped him. How’s such a young kitten going to survive out there? I agree he would have died. Everything about him says “pleeease don’t leave me here all on my own”.
@@cazbiz9332
Especially with the way he starts chasing after the guy and isn’t scared of him in the slightest.
That’s because they have something that literally about only 1-2% of people have. A strong intuition and the cat knew he was the right choice based off that which he clearly was.
@@S1RLANC3 1% is still 80 million people.
I love how’s he’s trying to rationalize. “I can’t take you, I live in the city” and then “well if I ever did get a cat or dog, it would be a cat. And look, you match my shirt”❤
Ha Ha That's what I said.! The kitten matches his shirt. How about when he changes it.

I love the part at 7:07 with "This is not good! This is not good!" Like it's some kind of dangerous tiger following you and not a 2 pound kitten.
sometimes kittens also believe they are a tiger with the way they act
because it is a dangerous tiger, look out for em tigers!!!!!! they may get you!!!!
"i triet to run away from it"
The fear of responsibility in owning a cat outweighs the fear of confronting a large predator
2 pounds is way too much for that kitty, lol
As a man who has been with cats even before I was able to talk I can confirm, this is a 10/10 cat. Even has the creaky meow.
As a random girl behind a screen that's inlove with animals and wants to adopt a ragdoll kitten / cat I can agree and confirm this is indeed a 10/10 cat
@@Yvonna582 cats are like having kids with 1 additional part; you have to deal with the cat's sandbox. If you're mentally prepared to take care of a cat definitely go for it.
The jump to playing with him at home is HILARIOUS
LOL, loved the switch. Shows how far "conclusive decisions" have gone 😂

We have 5 rescues. They are my babies. They all chose me, my wife, or my sons when we went in to the HS. Love my babies.

Then I click on the creator's name (as I usually do) and I can see a channel filled with cat videos, of the same cat, as an adult. My heart has been warmed and my day has been officially made. Thank you.
A famous youtuber once went for a bike ride, and ended up with a kitten that he took all over the world on his bike journeys. Maybe you can make this little guy your own hiking companion.

@@Tericlaws thanks

While that would be cute its honestly significantly more dangerous. That same guy I believe hqd a video where dogs tried to attack them, and he was able to get away because of his bike. When youre hiking you may encounter various animals, and its not easy to escape them on foot. As a big scary human most animals wont mess with you, but a small cat? Thats a snack for them, and they wont care that youre there.
What I love is how he IMMEDIATELY started purring.
From second one he decided you were his.
Cats are great at picking up on “Vibes” from body language/smell, so that’s a good sign for you.
They are much more intelligent than people give them credit for. They can sense when someone is a trustworthy person.
What if you're kind but haven't showered in weeks
In Soviet Russia- cat choose YOUUUU!
I know he isn’t Russian 😂
Having seen a bit more videos on cat behavior follow "Flatbush Cats" this cat did not just purr because it got good vibes.
Cats cannot sense if someone is a good person. But Cats are very observant to the way people speak and move.
So lets analyze the cat in the video:
1. Cat is very young
2. Cat is very hungry
3. Cat is very used to human contact
This one was probably bought from another person or gotten from a shelter and soon after abandoned.
@@GikamesShadowthis breaks my heart and makes me angry thinking someone would abandon a sweet baby like that… I don’t even want to acknowledge that possibility

Wow. So wonderful of you.
