I've had cats do various things in their sleep, from the arms trying to run, to apparent cat fights, with a variety os sounds and growls. Not every cat seems to be as vocal in sleep as others.
During the lockdown, I adopted an awesome Senior cat that wrapped herself around my head at night. Her purrs, delivered directly into my brain, were better than any sleeping pills on the market.
Aww, that's so cute! One of my 3 cats (Kiki) does this with my 11yo daughter! I've had many cats and never heard of this. She makes that little C-shape around her head since we adopted them 5 years ago from the shelter. (3 female litter mates, 2 dwarf grey tabbies & 1 black regular sized cat). Kiki follows my daughter around from room to room. When she's not home, Kiki pines for her in her bunk bed (or on her dirty clothes!) My other 2 cats are affectionate, but not like kiki
I adopted a tuxedo the last day I saw and talked to my mom. She helped me to cope with the pain of losing my mom. My cat sleeps close to me and follows me everywhere!
My baby used to sleep most deeply snuggled next to me, usually under the covers. She stretched out on her side but always with her belly facing me. The trust she put in me is honestly the most humbling and incredible thing I can imagine.
My first cat was a white Persian. Saw the ad in the paper and picked him up during a bad Winter storm. Once at my house he settled in in my bedroom. I had a headache from the storm and hoped the headache would go away with some sleep. After 5 minutes he eased himself to the top of my head and started purring loudly. I thought he was sick and his lungs were making that noise. Not realizing it was a purr. Headache was history. The 15 years I had him he always sensed when I needed his nurturing. As to snoring- yes he snored and so did I. He would wake me when I was too loud by sticking a paw in my mouth! ha ha
My cat Luke had nightmares He had a bad past before I adopted him He would stir in his sleep and sometimes cry out with a meow. I would wake him up and cuddle him. The nightmares diminished as he spent time with me
My Kitty used to literally kick me in her sleep; I imagine she was dreaming about pouncing on little defenseless furry things. She rarely snored but there was one time she was sleeping on top of me and woke me up by snoring directly in my ear. I lost her just over a month ago and the little memories help.
So sorry for your loss. Each one I lose, stays buried in my heart, but sometimes it's like my 'Angel' Starr returns at or during my worse struggles, especially with my health. She was both a nurse & comfort to me & became a seeing eye cat all on her own when I went blind. After eye surgery she led me ahead of my wheelchair & used her floofy Maine Coon tail to stay in 'touch' with me, & her voice , purrs, little runs of cute sharp purrs etc ( hard to describe ) kept me in line & became a conversation. She was the sweetest, yet, a friend of mine entered with her key 1 day, & I was in another room. She gave out a warning growly sharp sound & I knew why, but my friend said "your cat Judy growled at me!" 😹
So sorry for your loss 😢. Some people say they’ll ‘never get another (fur baby)’ after losing one, but they bring so much to our lives😻 Even my husband (who I lost to Covid-19 1 1/2 years ago) who said he’d ‘never have a cat in my house’, soon fell in love with the beautiful, black, long-furred male who wandered into our yard and adopted us. We had him for 15 years! About 2mos after he passed, my husband asked me if I was ready to go to our local shelter and find another fur baby to adopt.😻I now have a beautiful Tortie, who is very opinionated, loves to garden with me, sleep on my bed, and goes wherever I go 😊. I got her qualified as my emotional support animal, so we never have to be apart.❤
My Tortie is generally very independent and naps in random spots throughout the day. But when she actually needs deep sleep she has to be in my armpit and gets upset if im not in bed yet or im at work.
I woke up last night around 1:30 with 3 cats cuddled up against me. 😂 I don’t mind their presence but it does prevent me from rearranging if I’m hurting. 🤷♀️
Our cat named "Big Kitty" would sleep right by our heads and would snore so loud that he sounded like a mini lawnmower! Also when he would go for vet checkups, he would stretch out and lounge around in the office as if he were the boss and owned the place! Everyone loved him! 🐱😻
Glad to have found this channel. New kitty owner here and you've given me a lot of insights into my furry four-legged friend. Because of your videos, my new kitty's anxiety has dropped enough that he's eating, sleeping and playing with his new environment. I was worried I'd have to take him to the vet on day three of ownership. Turns out, his things were just not in a "happy kitty" environment. Tip for other new cat owners : My cat was freaked out by the hum of the fridge and wouldn't eat or drink because he didn't want to be so close to it. Moving his dishes into my office "where I spend most of my day" has him eating and drinking!
💛💛💛💛💫👑 ...I love cats. I can be living in any part on this planet I will always want to have a cat with me. Home stay much better with pets mainly cats!
My cat Raleigh would always sleep on his back - all 22lbs of him! He wasn't fat - just a huge, long fluffy boy. He also liked to sleep on my head sometimes. I miss him terribly 😭
As far as I can tell, my cat dreams about snacking, playing with toys, cuddling (she’ll be on her back and kneading the air like so many biscuits), and jumping. Just based on those little movements in her sleep. 🫶
I love it when I'm watching TV and my cat curls up and sleeps on my belly after kneeding me plenty first of course and having a good wash.she twitches her paws a bit and her whiskers twitch quite a bit when she is fast asleep sometimes rolling over onto her back.she always gets so relaxed she even sleeps behind my head on the pillow on my bed most nights. And wants her face rubs when I wake up.Sometimes when I wake up I feel her whiskers tickling my face and hear loud purring as she waits for her morning fuss.A life without my baby girl would be no life at all I love her so much she gives me a loving boost to get up in the morning she is so precious 💕
I adopted one from a friend a few years ago & she is a delightful creature. The biggest downside is the required & essential daily brushing but it is a small price to pay for the pleasure she provides. She is a very social cat.
I cat sit for a friend's two year old sisters, and their year old nephew...one of the girls is clearly not a social cat, doesn't like being petted, picked up, etc...but when she's at my place she will nap within five feet of my desk in my living room...and if she wakes up for a minute or two, the first thing she does is look to see if I'm still sitting at my desk...if I am, she'll just go right back to sleeping...but, no pets please...😁
I consider myself a "Guardian of the Dreams of Cats". Whenever one of my boys/girls* has made distressful noises when dreaming, I talk to them in an affectionate voice and them give them some gentle strokes. Once I "enter their dream" in this way, I find they relax and realise that - even in sleep - I'm there to protect them. (* Over the years. I don't ever have more than two cats at a time).
My cat loves to sleep on top of my cable box in the living room. She also sleeps with me and under the covers. there are times that she even sometimes snore.
I had a hunch cats dreamed, now I know. Ahhhh sleeping…… our little female seems to have a wristwatch any time of the year. At 4 a.m. she is. Awake and ready to play, unfortunately I’m not. But she is still loved and a valuable member of the family, along with her sidekick. Thanks for the great videos.
My late first cat, Maddie, recently passed. She used to always either sleep outside my door, or sleep on her favorite pillow next to me on my bed. Fuck I...fucking miss her so much.
I have to get up every day at 03:30 for work and my crepuscular little girl has become my alarm clock! If I sleep through my alarm she will always wake me up so we can “go hunting” before work ❤
My cat loved to sleep above me on the bed. She will often lay on my hand or reach out and touch my hand. when she is fast asleep, she will snore like a drunken sailor, lol. - Kathy W
So I’m a cat. I’m crepuscular and I sleep 14+ hours most days. I’m generally only awake in the evening and the early morning, being asleep much of the night and most daylight hours. My doctor calls it "chronic fatigue syndrome," but he has never done a genetic test to find out if I’m actually feline.
Of course cats dream just like dogs do. On rare occasions i've had a cat sleep on my head or on top of me. By far the most common way is on or under the covers next to me. i learned to not thrash about in my sleep so i wouldn't disturb the cat, and later on cats !:-) 😻💜🙏⚡
Definitely can attest to a cat preference for warmth, our late cat that was indoor/ outdoor cat, used to like to snooze in the alcove on the front porch by the front door, because it was warmed by the sun, or would very quickly seek out the bonnet ( hood) of your car if you have been out in the car. Obviously the engine, would warm this part of the car..
I did a circle back to this video. My cat and I have sort of the same sleeping hours, I have worked night shift{7 PM to around 5AM} for around 20 years now. If we get too relaxed during the day nap time is on.
My long haired BF tabby, Monster is 14 and has made all these noises. He’s slowing down and it’s Iterating killing me. Where’s the videos on how to tell your best friend goodbye?😢
Hey, I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. My tabby boy is 13 and my heart is breaking seeing him show signs of old age. I’m glad we met our cats, and I hope they both have many more years of good health to come. I could cry when I think about having to say goodbye.
It's hard to say goodbye, but loving cats is worth every darn minute of the pain we will feel when they pass. Just treat him like gold for the time you have left together.
We aren't actually sure what's the best sleeping pattern for humans. The whole single 8 hour sleep standard only came in during the industrial revolution. There's lots of records of people going to bed around 9pm, getting up at 12am, doing work etc and having another sleep mid/late morning
I cat sit for a friend... remarkably, they all tend to sleep through midnight to six am, when I get up...cleaning their litter boxes and bowls, and putting out fresh water and kibble is almost always done by 630, and there isn't much complaining if I miss by a bit...but, I do get a kittie escort to the litterbox, bowls every morning by the same girl, who also sits and supervises the changing of litter, food, and water...couldn't do it without her assistance...😁
Two Stripes puts her head on my arm and lays her paws on me when she goes to sleep. If I am not ready to go to bed when she is, she will make it known that she is not happy and that I need to go to bed. She is the most loving cat I have ever had and the best snuggle kitty for sure!
My cat used to sleep either right on top of my hip (I sleep in my side) or right up against me. Idk why she stopped. I miss it! She also won’t get on the sofa or loveseat, even when we’re calling and coaxing her. She was such a cuddly lil girl at first and now she’s kinda bitchy 😂 My boyfriend found her crying so loud in the woods as a tiny kitten- she was so loud, he actually thought it was a grown cat meowing😢 I love my girl and can’t imagine what she went through in those woods . She was starving and dehydrated. It pains me to think about her littermates. We went back but couldn’t find any more kittens, idk if she was dumped or part of a feral litter. Would like to get another kitten to keep her company, but don’t know if it’ll stress her. What’s one more to hide from the landlord 🤷🏻♀️ lol
My cat sometimes talk in sleep. One time it sounded like she was in fight. She is allowed outdoor if she wants, and see other cats. So I guess she was she was dreaming of some episodes she had
I love your channel. But today I want to tell you my shyest kittty, a troirtoise shell, loved to sleep on my head every night. I have curly hair and she used to play with my hair to get my attention. RIIP, Ambush,
there was a time when my cat had a nightmare, she suddenly woke up and attacked me. I didn't know what she had seen but it hurt me a lot cause I knew she was suffering from depression after giving birth, she seemed too scared but sweet enough to lick my hand after attacking me. Fortunately, everything was fine now.
Sofi will be dreaming. She'll wake up suddenly from the dream and start meowing for me, even though I'm only a few inches away. She sees I am nearby, will want me to pet her. Now consoled and told that she's all-right, she drops back down back into sleep like a brick, gone! lol
I currently have 3males & 2Females. The boys play fight and wrestle, but the girls actually fight! 2 of the boys are mama's boys and love to snuggle, the other very loving but on his terms! The older female is the Alpha of my cat crew! The younger female will actually give me a kiss (taps her nose to my lips) and gives me soft blinks all the time. The older female wants my attention all of the time and gets jealous when I'm affectionate with the others! All cats are different just like people!
My cat likes to sleep on me. Either my chest or lap, if I'm on my back. He doesn't sleep there all night, just in the morning. Otherwise he sleeps at the foot of my bed...
If I get up during the night to pre my cat has to get into the bed for a cuddle. When my alarm goes off in the morning she stretches and looks d as t me. My other cat walks in and has the cute little eyes like why is the light on!
My husband's cat splits the night between my pillow and my husband's pillow. Sometimes he steps on our faces, but once he gets settled, he's a happy kitty as our sleepin' hat.

There have been studies that show that cat purrs can reach infrasound levels which can have positive health effects.

Very touching ❤
I have a kitty now that wakes herself yelling out loud. She had a family for 2 years. Then stray for 2 years.

My BP (best pet) snores ALL the time😂 she is a regular old tabby. 15 yr old. Didn’t always snore, only in the past 5 years or so. And she sleeps A LOT
I’m frequently reminded of Jellicale cats…

My parents' cat also makes noises with her nose when she's sleeping. I often think it's their way of snoring.
I love cats so much.
My cat Tiger-J snores a little. He likes to sleep on my bed.
Tiger-J is such a cute name :) love it
@@wpc456cpw Thank you so much!
0:50 - They probably have that dream where it's finals day and they haven't been to the class all semester.
Thank you for your Interesting video 😊 my senior cat loves her sleep ❤
My Egyptian mau likes to sleep in my suitcase. My ragdoll used to sleep on top of my head. He would wake me up by gently licking my eyelids.
My orange tabby, Ozzy sleeps under my arm. Her eyes were not open when I got her 19 years ago. She is.loved by my 6 other cats and my dog. So sweet!
Love my Cat Alfie, love him so much can't believe he is already 8 yrs old. My last beloved Cat Thomas lived for 21 yrs and still miss him today XX

My mom’s cat does the same exact thing! Sleeps in cable box or right on mom’s legs in the bed lol
My best cat, Tommy, always slept with me as the little spoon. He was a huge boy, long-haired smokey grey fur, definitely part Maine Coon.
Maine Coons are the best! Himmies too... well, most cats.....
❤❤❤😸😸😸
I had a hunch cats dreamed, now I know.
Ahhhh sleeping…… our little female seems to have a wristwatch any time of the year. At 4 a.m. she is. Awake and ready to play, unfortunately I’m not. But she is still loved and a valuable member of the family, along with her sidekick.
Thanks for the great videos.
My Ace was put under anesthesia two days ago for a procedure at his clinic. Once he was home again he did a lot of napping for a little over a day.
That should be normal. Even without anesthesia, my cat would sleep more after vet visit. Probably the event of going to vet is exhausting for them.
Snoozing sounds perfect!
Thank you
My Tuxie Ace does indeed snore. He's an American Shorthair.
Graat video❤❤
My late first cat, Maddie, recently passed. She used to always either sleep outside my door, or sleep on her favorite pillow next to me on my bed. Fuck I...fucking miss her so much.
So wait what cats are sooo much more cool than i thought now thare more than my fav
my Siamese snores and it is so cute when she does
I have to get up every day at 03:30 for work and my crepuscular little girl has become my alarm clock! If I sleep through my alarm she will always wake me up so we can “go hunting” before work ❤
My cat had a nightmare. She growled and hissed. Then she shot her paws out and woke herself up while attacking my foot! Ow.
Our cat, Jasmine, dreams. I'll see her moving her feet as though she is moving around and I saw her making suckling movements with her mouth.
Haha....I think she remember when she was a tiny baby, nursed by her mom back then. ❤
My Black Manx mix cat loves to sleep by my head. Our buff colored Tabby loves to sleep by my husband's head. 😊
My cat loved to sleep above me on the bed. She will often lay on my hand or reach out and touch my hand. when she is fast asleep, she will snore like a drunken sailor, lol. - Kathy W

I love your channel. But today I want to tell you my shyest kittty, a troirtoise shell, loved to sleep on my head every night. I have curly hair and she used to play with my hair to get my attention. RIIP, Ambush,
I wish I knew exactly when my cat leaves the bed each night. He must fall asleep with me, but 30% of the time, he’s in another room when I wake.
Dam I think I'm a cat 😺
MOL (meow out loud)!
Hmm up all night and sleeping all day. Sounds much like my teen kids
there was a time when my cat had a nightmare, she suddenly woke up and attacked me.

My husband's cat splits the night between my pillow and my husband's pillow. Sometimes he steps on our faces, but once he gets settled, he's a happy kitty as our sleepin' hat.
