I actually got the 12 mini and traded it a few months later. It is fine for simple use, but if you watch a lot of videos or read a lot on your phone, the small screen can get very exhausting, so be sure what you want from your phone before you go for the mini.
Just upgraded from the XS & I’m so happy. The size is just perfect, fits in my hand like I remember older phones doing, it’s super smart looking and generally just a really decent little phone. I was so close to going with the 13 pro but I’m so glad I went with the mini, it’s perfect
For me personally, the best feature I was interested in when upgrading from an older phone - was water resistance. And on iPhone 13 mini it’s IP68 if I’m not mistaken. I would also love to upgrade to this phone, I still am a fan of smaller phones, I don’t understand how people are able to carry around these huge phablets nowadays and not be annoyed by the size.
im planning on upgrading to the 13 mini. i feel like big phones are uncomfortable to carry around and they make my legs sweat when i put them in my pockets
All iPhones have been IP68 since the XS. They’ve actually been water resistant since the iPhone 7 which had an IP67 rating. Personally I have bigger hands and I’ve only had plus and Max iPhones since they started making them. I compared the 13 mini in Best Buy to my 13 pro max and I could never imagine myself with a phone that small.
The thing is that people tend to adapt quickly and also forget! When I, somewhat grudgingly, upgraded from my 6S to a XR, I thought I could never get used to such a huge phone! Two days later, I just loved the big screen and thought I could never return to a smaller phone! When my best friend said she got the 12 mini, I asked why she didn’t get the bigger screen but when she visited me and I held the mini I instantly fell in love with it! The battery in the 12 mini let me wait for the 13 and I am so happy now, knowing my new phone will have camera features of last years Pro Max and the battery of last years regular Pro version! I am so looking forward to the day I will get my 13 mini, with 256GB of storage in this beautiful Product Red tone! Since my 3GS, I always had black or space grey but after the last 1,5 years, I think my life could do with a bit of colour! ✌️😄

I got the iPhone 13 mini this time too and I’m OBSESSED. I thought I’d think the screen was too small coming from the iPhone 12 but it didn’t make a difference to me at all!
I am using iPhone 12 mini as my daily driver for the last few months and the experience is sooooo good obviously 13 mini ll increase the experience. many people actually don't feel they don't need big phones you feel when you use mini and if you use this without a case it looks like a bigger one and the in-hand feel is amazing.
I only upgrade every 3 years or so. In February of this year i upgraded from the iPhone 8 to the 12 Mini. I do not use the camera much, my main use is apple music. I got the 256GB version for music downloads. I have thousands of songs downloaded and only used 58.47GB. I get a full day from the battery so for me the only thing worth moving to the 13 Mini for is the storage, but to be fair that would be a luxury rather than a necessity. Hope they continue to keep the mini line up. My next upgrade will likely be the 15 Mini... if they make one.
Yeah, I’m struggling right now. I’m the same way with upgrades and went from an iPhone 8 that was on its last leg to a 13 pro and this thing is miserably large. My logic was if I’m going to keep it for 4-5, I should go with the best right now and future proof myself for a bit. Coming from the 8, though, I can not stand how large this thing feels. Everyone who has gotten used to larger phones since the X series says I’ll get used to it in a few days but I don’t see how. I’m giving myself 10 days to get to where this thing feels natural before taking it to Verizon and seeing if I can trade it for a 13 mini and take a loss on the restocking fee. I do really like the 120 Hz display, the sound and the picture quality on the pro but it’s not of much difference to me if I’m using my phone 1/4 as much because I have to stop what I’m doing and use both hands to open the camera But surely, the 13 mini will be leaps and bounds better than my busted up 8 🤷🏻♂️
I had the 12 mini and just traded it in for the 13 mini and I absolutely love it, the form factor is still my favorite as I like smaller devices but in all honesty besides the better camera (which I really don’t care too much about) the battery life improvement alone was well worth upgrading in my opinion and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my iPhone! 10/10 would recommend
I did the same path, 13 mini in starlight to replace my black 12 mini. Superb upgrades, and even more future proof! Perfect phone for people who don’t want or need a larger screen with added weight etc.

Coming from a 12 Pro Max I concur with your findings. But the best thing is: Due to the small form factor, chances of dropping it is much smaller so I stopped using a cover. Finally I get a clean iPhone, just like it’s intended by its designer. And to avoid scratches on the back, I use occasionally the Apple Wallet (with Find my function) which doesn’t fall of like it did on the Pro Max.
I had the iPhone 12 Pro and I liked the phone...but for some reason I really wanted the iPhone 12 Mini but kept hearing issues with battery life and stuff so I just didnt do it. Now that I heard the battery stuff is fixed on the 13 Mini....i got that 13 mini and I already could not be happier. The small form factor is barely noticeable and texting as a 6'1 man with big hands is still perfectly fine! If anything I CAN TEXT WITH ONE HAND!!!
I work as a delivery driver and I use to use s20 for it. It was terrible as the apps were not optimised for android. I started looking into iPhone and bought iPhone 7 to test the water. It was great (even after coming from a flagship phone like s20) and I realised I prefer small phones. Saw some 12 mini’s reviews and waiting for 13 mini. I’m glad that I waited. Its a fantastic phone. Perfect size with crazy processing power. I got a phone holder with wireless charging and now I don’t carry any power bank with me. I’m an apple sheep now😂
I got the iPhone 13 mini and the Sony XM4 . I needed a smart phone to easly carry with me while doing outdoor activities/sport and listen to music. I made sure to invest more in a good headphones/earbuds than in the bigger size phones, happy with my investment.
The Bose (35 or 45) are much more comfortable from my experience compare to Sony's. Sound quality from Bose are pretty solid on par with Sony. On Apple device, both Sony and Bose use the same AAC codec. Sony has some fancy sound equalizers, but TBH I don't think you need them.

FYI for everyone considering the Mini; the small form factor is great, until you want to read what is on the screen. Getting older doesn’t help. These old eyes couldn’t read all those small letters, even with the font size adjusted to the largest available and having all print bolded. Please go into a store that has a Mini, look at your favorite websites to ensure readability. Purchased a 13 Pro, much easier to read.

Try actually just forcing it to be on LTE instead of 5G auto. The difference in battery life is amazing, and you won’t notice any difference in the experience.

I really like the 12 Mini, but two things that I don’t love are the battery and the thermals, the screen got dim in direct sunlight even on not so hot days.
The 4s was my first iPhone and I held onto it until the X came out where I upgraded to the 8. I loved the smaller size. I just upgraded to the 13 mini and they offered $350 for my 8, so I ended up getting the 128gb 12 mini for $340 instead and got to keep my 8 as a back up. I much prefer the sub 6" screen form factor.
I think what happens is that next year when they drop the mini series, it will continue to be released in a SE form factor which might not get the latest chipset but will probably be at a lower price which for most people will certainly be happy since the apple latest chipset is still 2 years ahead of all android chipset.
I have iPhone 12 mini and I absolutely love it. Planned to upgrade to 13 mini because of the better battery life. However, as I started travelling to College for the first time since the Mini got released I found out that when using hotspot the battery just goes down like crazy and I do not feel confident getting through the whole day. So I decided to upadte to regular 13 but boy, I’m so gonna miss it. I hope Apple won’t stop making them. I just hope mini was slightly thicker to fit in bigger battery
The size is perfect for me too. I love it. If they don’t ever make another one this size I’ll be using my 13 mini phone until it dies. Which is fine because Battery replacement is only $69 with Apple. Getting a new battery every two years is cheaper than getting a new phone every two years.
I loved it so much that I bought 2 of them...just in case this is the last year for the mini and because the T-Mo BB trade-in deals were so great ($69 out the door for my 12 mini and $79 for my 11 Pro Max).
Last week I switched from the iPhone 6s plus to the 13 mini, my parents were worried it’s to small of a phone for me but it’s lightweight and it feels so much better now when ever I take a look at my old 6 I feel uncomfortable carrying it. @@williamnewland4706 you should! The 13 Mini has been my favorite phone I’ve used since the old iPhone 5S. The improved battery life is a godsend and with MagSafe I got a wireless portable charger to top it off on the go. I strongly recommend the Belkin version as it’s the perfect size for the mini (just get a MagSafe case), has slightly faster charge speeds (7.5 vs 5V) compared to others, and doubles as a magsafe charging puck because it can do pass through charging (it’ll charge up the phone first then recharge itself). Theoretically with this you don’t need Lightning cables anymore as it can charge your phone at night or your AirPods, and everything else apple is USB C as far as what I use. The only improvements for the phone going forward that I’d really want is 120Hz, , pastel colors like the XR series, and of course actual USB C.
i really hope too that theres a 14 mini. i love my 12 mini and i dont think ill go with bigger phone for a while. i had giant phone before and really tired of using them. this is also the first time i fully submerge with ios, i dubble before but i was always been an android guy until the mini came along. small but powerful tool.
I love this thing, takes me back to the days of one hand operation on the iPhone 5. My favorite iPhone of all time until I got my hands on the 13 mini.
I just got the 13 mini and it so far reminds me of the iPhone 4. I like this phone a lot more than my huge X I had before but it looks and feels like a throwback.
What to dislike: the 12 MP camera (not good for large flatscreen photo sharing and poster prints), the lack of periscopic optical zoom, the lack of under screen fingerprint, especially during Covid, the lighting port, the much heavier weight (not just the battery 1.5 hrs.), and the lack of power purple (and it’s still a bit lengthy for full-screen needs and with the dead space -could be even 5.25” with the same specs and full screen size)
Face id with masks is coming in ios 16 so no finger print sensors needed, battery life is better than the iphone 12 by hours, best performance by far compared to android competitors, apple ecosystem, polished experience and is seemless, lightning is great and type c would only add space in the phone,
The 12mp photos are really sharp and clear though. If someone uses a 50mp or higher camera, you get actually worse dynamic range, focus is worse, More storage, and bad low light performance
It is all about the optimization. I wanted the s21 but as soon as i tried out iphone and the cameras i now changed my mind. Android cameras are not NEARLY as good for video taking than iphone is. Iphone video looks stunning like a dlsr and it looks clear in the day and in the night. The android phones look noisy and very unuseable when in lower light. They also look noticabley worse in all cases. Photos are quite comparable however. For this reason and more being that there are no good small android phones like the 13 mini, I will purchase tge 13 mini.
You will rarely use the periscopic 100x zoom on the s21 ultra. It is more of a gimmic to most people and only professionals would really consider using it a lot.
You short make a RUclips short video of the comparison of the Mini vs the 4S. I'm not sure how many people truly understand how "small" the mini actually is.
Thanks for not pushing the most expensive, top of the line phone like a lot of other tech youtubers. I am glad they can do all the high end video editing and so forth on the pro max, but I don't use a phone for any of that.
I went front a galaxy s21 to the 13 mini, and I really like it. I’m still adjusting to the differences in OS, but the small form factor is just perfect. It is so single-handed use friendly. It’s not heavy, not bulky, and I don’t feel like I’ve lost screen space. I’m not a power user, but when I get home from work I usually still have 60-70% battery. It’s worth switching operating systems over.
I'm going to upgrade from a 11 pro. Which I don't have any complaints with and I've had it for two years. I wasn't happy when they made the 11 pro bigger and again not happy the 13 pro is bigger than that. I had no complaints with the 8 either. And if you're wondering I'm a heavy user but don't use all the good things these phones can do.
The Mini lineup has helped me not get hand fatigue / cramps anymore. And it has made me more aware of how much time I spend on my phone. The form factor, comfort in the hand and size is what is amazing about it. Plus, I don’t even feel it in my pocket and that’s a luxury itself!

Now that y'all gat the mini
Can I have your xr
I'm worried about losing it....at least you know the XR is pulling your trousers down. Just ordered on though.
Getting this phone tomorrow. Very excited moving from an 11 to a 13 mini
I actually got the 12 mini and traded it a few months later. It is fine for simple use, but if you watch a lot of videos or read a lot on your phone, the small screen can get very exhausting, so be sure what you want from your phone before you go for the mini.
Midnight is a bad ass color. So dark blue it looks black. Very inky looking.
I went with the midnight 13 Mini, got a MagSafe battery for those just in case days and I love it.
Bruh
Bought blue 13 mini today before watching this. Had to look it up tho and after seeing all these positive comments About it i feel really Happy!
Same
Just upgraded from the XS & I’m so happy.
Apple will be shocked when the sales figures come out and the 13 Mini is the hottest selling phone.
It won’t be bruh. Most people don’t want a small phone
@@NamaDoodoo That's true. And sad, because people don't know what they are missing.
@@NamaDoodoo i used to like bigger phones until it started bothering me when i would lose it or feel uncomfortable sitting with a big phone in my pocket, when i used a smaller phone then i started to realize that this was the perfect size for me and i'd not want to change it

Haven’t bought a new iPhone in three years. I got the 13 mini and enjoy it
I have bought this amazing phone and omg , never regretted it , such an awesome form factor , even playing games with backbone controller on it doesn't feel like I need bigger screen , display quality is superb
Actually there are speculations that the 13 mini is the last one.
@@jayvincent414 yeah they're probably not going to make anymore. Demand just isn't there, which is honestly a shame.
Unfortunately, most customers want phones large af which you can't use with one hand. Sad for me, I love small smartphones.
I do really like the 120 Hz display, the sound and the picture quality on the pro but it’s not of much difference to me if I’m using my phone 1/4 as much because I have to stop what I’m doing and use both hands to open the camera
But surely, the 13 mini will be leaps and bounds better than my busted up 8 🤷🏻♂️
@@jayvincent414 I heard the same, it's a shame. Guess when the time comes I will have to use a Phablet.
10/10 would recommend
getting the 13 mini as a birthday gift from myself ✨ patiently waiting for pre order here in Manila
I went from iPhone 12 to an iPhone 13 mini, I have 55% leftover from a full day at work which is more than my iPhone 12. The screen size is amazing!
I did the same path, 13 mini in starlight to replace my black 12 mini. Superb upgrades, and even more future proof! Perfect phone for people who don’t want or need a larger screen with added weight etc.
Great video. I love my 13 mini 256gb I switched from the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I can honestly say I made a great choice 😁!!! I can see myself with this phone for many years to come. APPLE PLEASE keep the mini in the line up 🤞🏿

Coming from a 12 Pro Max I concur with your findings.
But the best thing is:
Due to the small form factor, chances of dropping it is much smaller so I stopped using a cover.
Upgraded from first gen SE to 13 Mini today. It’s the perfect modern phone imo.
@@xikefocus i have to disagree with you there, also the sound quality is subjective. Sonys sound much more full, whereas Bose just sound flat.

Correct
That’s actually a good point no one is talking about
Use the zoom setting. It’s perfect. Age 55 here.

Yup, after the 12 Mini, which let me down with mediocre battery, I decided to order the 13 Mini 256GB in hopes that the problem might be enough mitigated. Wish me luck.
Try actually just forcing it to be on LTE instead of 5G auto. The difference in battery life is amazing, and you won’t notice any difference in the experience.
@@justinstewart3248 You know, in my Country 4G is a joke, barely available in many places, it was used by operators to jack up the prices. Now imagine what they'll do with 5G... That's why most of my phones are set to 3G...

I really like the 12 Mini, but two things that I don’t love are the battery and the thermals, the screen got dim in direct sunlight even on not so hot days.
Right??!! Mine also dims at times when i charge it😤
The 4s was my first iPhone and I held onto it until the X came out where I upgraded to the 8.
That would actually be ideal. I just want the form factor, but won't pay $700. I would get it for sure if it was the SE.
It’s great to see a better battery on this one!
I got mine 3 days go based on your vid after being on an iPhone 6 for a long time. I'm in love with it.
The size is perfect for me too. I love it. If they don’t ever make another one this size I’ll be using my 13 mini phone until it dies. Which is fine because Battery replacement is only $69 with Apple. Getting a new battery every two years is cheaper than getting a new phone every two years.
An iphone mini with 120hz and notchless = perfection

I loved it so much that I bought 2 of them...just in case this is the last year for the mini and because the T-Mo BB trade-in deals were so great ($69 out the door for my 12 mini and $79 for my 11 Pro Max).
I love this phone. Fits perfectly in my hand, I ain’t gonna complain ngl, very fast and fit in my hand so well
Last week I switched from the iPhone 6s plus to the 13 mini, my parents were worried it’s to small of a phone for me but it’s lightweight and it feels so much better now when ever I take a look at my old 6 I feel uncomfortable carrying it. Got the 13 mini from the regular 11. Love the small size. I have the iPad Mini on the way so that will be my larger screen device that I can take notes with. Still feel like the pro Max is not quite pro enough to justify the jump in price and size (no fast charge, no USB c, no Apple Pencil support)
Perfect combination!
iPad mini 6 iPhone 13 mini is the perfect combo! I have a iPad mini 6 and currently have the XR I’m seriously thinking about getting the 13 mini
It fits in my pocket. That's it! An awesome camera and phone that fits in my jeans... that's a perfect phone.

The camera on this phone is truly perfect .
I’m getting the iPhone 13 mini in a few days; I’ve only owned the IPhone 5s and IPhone 6 so I’m pretty excited
The weight is only 10 grams heavier( virtually NO perceaptual difference from last years 12 mini at all.
You will rarely use the periscopic 100x zoom on the s21 ultra. It is more of a gimmic to most people and only professionals would really consider using it a lot.
Mini would be perfect for me but im strugglin with the choice since I would love 120hz, bigger battery and macro photography capabilities
I was a little hesitant to get the red mini, but now that I have it I'm so glad I did. The red is deep and not loud or flashy
You short make a RUclips short video of the comparison of the Mini vs the 4S. I'm not sure how many people truly understand how "small" the mini actually is.
Also. Not so funfact: 13mini has same size as ip6/6s
I used to own the iPhone 10xs max then moved to the 12 mini.. happily I don’t limp anymore and no more arm cramps 😅
Thanks for not pushing the most expensive, top of the line phone like a lot of other tech youtubers. I am glad they can do all the high end video editing and so forth on the pro max, but I don't use a phone for any of that.
I still use my iPhone X which is 5.8 screen and totally the sweet spot for me. wish mini was same size as the X
Moved from 12 pro max to 13 mini 😍 so exciteddd!!!!🙌🤗❤️
don't you miss the battery and zoom lens?
I went front a galaxy s21 to the 13 mini, and I really like it. I’m still adjusting to the differences in OS, but the small form factor is just perfect. It is so single-handed use friendly. It’s not heavy, not bulky, and I don’t feel like I’ve lost screen space. I’m not a power user, but when I get home from work I usually still have 60-70% battery. It’s worth switching operating systems over.
I'm thinking of doing the same. I'd there anything I should ge warned about and anything you miss from the s21?
I mean the screen time feature on literally every apple device should already be a good way to be aware of how much time you spend on your phone...
