      Thank you Jon. For sure just the grain in Black Walnut can make the piece.
      I just got some fresh cut Red Bud and the heart wood is amazing looking. I was shocked at the size of the tree. We have an Oklahoma Red that is not where that size and it will not be cut down no matter.
      When it is in color the leaves a beautiful.
      Take care,
      Gary

    Beautiful wood, beautiful finish both absolutely elevate this simple shape. A medium branch into a beautiful usable vase, Not much Walnut available in the UK bot exploring what I can do with Forstner/wavy edge bits for speed with round carbide cutters to hollowing interiors...i used to hate the idea of them, but now love them for this task. Lovely piece Gary. Inspired to give it a try with some yew or cherry.

      Thank you Jim. I find 3D printing very useful. Have made extra camera mounts for outside security camera which I put up to watch our mailbox. The reason is when people walk are dead end road with a dog and the dog poops they will put it in our garbage can if it is still out on the road. I guess someone figured I would not mind if they put it in our mailbox. I Figured if they did it again I could personally give it back to them. Sorry it reminded me of that.
      But I do love designing 3D parts in CAD and then printing them.
      Thanks for watching.

    Hi Gary, beautiful grain! Black walnut is really hard to beat! With regards to the spray lacquer, do you need to cut it back before adding additional coats? Thanks, Mike

    • @ThePapa1947
      @ThePapa1947  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Mike, I do not cut it back. This comes as a stray can.
      When I use their lacquer for brushing I cut it back to where it sprays good. Up to 50 percent depending on how long I have had it. I have a gallon can that is close to empty and at least 10 years old.
      I also like Zinsser Seal Coat as a sealer. I think the lacquer lays down better.
