This tutorial demonstrates a technique to model a visually accurate microphone grille of almost any shape.
It is assumed that the viewer knows about basic modeling and slightly more advanced content like how NURBS influences models. Наука
Great tutorial! The knowlage on highest level with great english on oposition to guys from India. Listening this is relaxing. I cant wait for more!!!
amazing tutorial!
Nice work! Especially loved the bit about "funky noodles". :)
Super cool Magnus! I've never used NX before but the tool look like it's quite vast. Nice tutorial.
Yes I use this tool quite a lot! Great way to generate variances of semi-soft bodies for instance.
Great tutorial!
Takk for det Eivind!
AMAZING!
craftsmanship
Awesome!
Great.....sir
Sumptuously! Thanks for the detailed tutorial and file of grid.
Is there a way to create a mesh of constant diameter on the surface? In this lesson, the fibers taper to the edges.
Cheers! I have been doing a few experiments on that, and I haven't found the solution yet. I thought enabling normal direction would take care of it, but it doesn't seem to deal with that slight tapering as you point out.
TL;DR - Haven't found a solution to the tapering yet, but enabling Normal takes care of the worst.
@@Miror Thanks for the answer! I tried changing the X-Form grid (U and V), but it made it even worse or didn't work. I also want to achieve a coincidence grid location on the cap along the X and Y axes. In this method, the grid has rotation from the axis.
@@13thwulf Hmm.. are the length/width ratio on your base surface roughly the same as the control surface? I found that it's important to have as similar traits as possible for the two surfaces. If you can manage to preserve the surface area as well it would be perfect, but I realize that can be tricky. Also: Refit surface can do wonders if you are stuck with messy NURBS.
In summary, the correlation between base and control surface is crucial to transfer the shape of the grid.
@@Miror It is difficult to answer this question now. NX is not the main program in which I work. May I write you a letter (email on the Mirror website)?
@@13thwulf Ah gotcha. Well I understand it can be a little bit of a challenge then. I'm currently awaiting some license updates on my end, so I'm unable to look at it directly I'm afraid, but if you are in no rush I can have a look when I get a chance.
I used solid edge for 10 years, after watching this I fill like I been missing a lot with nx 😞
Yeah I mean solid edge is a powerful tool for sure, but I suspect NX is kind of a different beast.
Глобальная дефориация понятно, а вот как саму решетку построить? :)
Я добавил исходный файл в описание, чтобы вы могли его скачать, если хотите :) (извините за переводчик гугл)
@@Miror Спасибо огромное, именно то что я искал!
