Shoutout to Pokemon Odyssey, it's one I'm looking forward to so much that I decided to actually stop playing at the 3.0 beta to wait for the final release (which ETA is next month, I think) because I want to experience the story and region in their entirety. I'm in their Discord and it's crazy to see just how much the team is adding in between 3.0b and 4.0 final
Unfortunately the Sevii Islands in Fools Gold is such a wild difficulty spike, that it soured my whole opinion on the hack, pulling shit like having you fight pokemon who are over level 100, which I wouldn't have had any chance against had I not gone out of my way to get a few legendaries, and a Tyranitar.
Ayrei not talking about Odyssey in a Pokemon Rom hack video challange:impossible (I know its a good game but its almost expected that every video about rom hacks has Odyssey in it,not complaining tho)
Do you know about Pokemon Elite Redux, a Pokemon Emrald Rom hack, it has a ton of regionnal variant, evolution of regular pokemon and mega evolution with a big focus on combat also all pokemon have up to 4 talent at the same time making a lot of underwelming pokemon viable
In altered is no neccesary to use rare candies, in every pokemon center there is a room were you can grind for levels and if I remember correctly the starters come with a lucky egg, so you wouldnt need rare candies
Hack 1 strikes me as Convergent Evolutions, but I feel those are close enough to regional forms. If we came up with new names for regional variant pokemon, they'd just be convergent evolutions at that point.
I’d love a game that does regional variants like insurgence where they feel more rare and you kinda have to earn them. Is anyone else like that or is there a game that does that?
Pokemon Rejuvenation has its regional variants being quite rare and usually quite difficult to get though it really doesn't have a lot of them (*struggles to remember how I got my regional Paras other than 'it took me a while'). Usually the long and difficult quests are for reasonably powerful regular pokemon instead XD
May sound like a dumb question, but does Platinum redux require a 2nd screen to play? Or have we come far enough in rom hacking tech that we can circumvent that?

Just finished the 6th layer. Need more!
Wait, Odyssey will be completed next month???
4.0 will be the final release, without counting fixes?
@@ReallyReallyTrying Odyssey mod here, yup it's being completed next month
@@lusio1579 next month February or end of January?
Thank you for these great recommendations! I clicked on the video immediately :)
I especially liked the last 2 games
The fact that Weird Type Fun is the creator’s first hack shows how much potential they have as a creator.
Hey moderator for the Platinum Redux Discord server here! Glad to see this is top of the list ❤❤ much love!

tbf there will always be new viewers who haven't heard of it, so if Odyssey fits the list, it gets included

I love regional forms, Honestly, it's hard for me to play a fan game without them, because i need something different.

Both Altered and Weird Type Fun are from the same devs.
Pebbler Platoon!
Are you going to do the same with fan games and rom hacks, that implement fakemon
Maaaaaaaybeeeeee :P
Odyssey is probably one of the best crafted and written ROM hack of all time. Do you think Its better than unbound ?
In a recent video he said that he thinks it will be when its finished.
In February we will know (the full game will be out in February)
I’ve been playing Fools Gold and it’s amazing

"the poke vial is unique to the gen 4 hacking scene" this is just objectively not true...
Who among you remember pokemon solar light and lunar dark fan game?

That fan game is one of the fan games that introduced me to fakemon and thanks to that, I love fakemon

Can you get these running on GBA? GBA on PSP?
I don't know, I play purely on PC and android emulators. You would have to ask in their individual discords/forum threads
@@ayrei1503 Holy sht! An actual reply from a YT uploader! Thank you!
How can I get these roms btw? Are they available from THOSE websites?
@iamtrying2690 uuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh I mean the patches are in the pastebin below, but for the actual Roms you have to find them yourself
