My dog got a hold of a stick once he started gagging and coughing. I didn't know you had to lift them up and preform a Heimlich maneuver. I did smack his side though and whatever it was came out. Keep your dogs safe around sticks! Thank you so much for providing this info.

That manoeuvre might be better suited to small items such as treats. It might work though. If I were in your position I would try both methods

Many yrs ago we had a goat on out farm and i would take her a walk down the local pub as she was quite the attraction for the children and she would go round looking for anyone’s left or not left Guinness, i swear she was an alcoholic and a moody one at that, after a few drinks she would start fights on the local dogs on the way home, she had many kids and lived a happy long life and made a great and comical pet tbf…!
