My friend, respectfully, let me educate you.
    1. There are several teams in the midwest; Indy Eleven, Louisville, Memphis, Tulsa, Detroit and future teams with brand new stadiums that include Milwaukee, a returning OKC, Iowa and potentially New Orleans.
    2. It's important for the USL to have a lot of teams on the coast because it eases travel. They actually need to be going to Cleveland and Baltimore as they are big markets.
    3. The USL is not letting in just anyone. If that were the case, you'd see tons of small market teams in League One. L1 has 12 clubs with more on the way and even the USL fans are getting restless because it's not expanding fast enough.
    4. Re: Brooklyn:
The NYC Metro area is 9 million people; the largest population and TV market in the country. With the USL creating new broadcast deals with CBS and ESPN, you need the major markets to satisfy viewership numbers for advertising. Otherwise you won't get the money you want. The USL has Orange County SC in the LA market and need to find ways into other major markets; Ft Worth (Dallas) for example.
Second, this team is marketed to Brooklyn which is a population of 2.5 million. NYCFC is currently in the Bronx and moving to Queens when the new stadium is built and RBNY is in Northern Jersey (hence why they get shitty attendance). Not only is it a good move to put a team in Brooklyn, but they should be targeting Long Island as well.

Thanks for the feedback I love interacting with people about the beautiful game !!
But ok you just named 5 teams in the Midwest out of 24 currently and expect me to be convinced that is sufficient. I don’t yet want to talk about potential teams because Milwaukee pushed back there inaugural season and it’s happened where teams never even joined the league
Just because a city is heavily populated doesn’t guarantee people will come look at Miami fc Miami is the 3 largest city in the USA & you’re telling me the 3rd largest city can’t even get 5k people in a stadium.
I guarantee that there is a city that desperately wants a team but instead the usl wants to put teams in “big cities” because it’s a “big market”

Brooklyn if separated from New York City is the 3rd Largest City in The US larger than Boston, Atlanta, Washington DC and Minneapolis combined, 1/3 of Brooklyn Residents are foreigners and with USL ticket prices being low, USL makes for a fun night out rather than blowing 200 bucks on dinner and a show

I’m a soccer fan from NY and followed the Cosmos NASL reboot because I have no interest in the MLS options. Brooklyn FC would be an intriguing option for someone like me. The Red Bulls are in New jersey and NYCFC play in a baseball stadium, this could be the reason why attendance is low. I see your point but I think there’s reasons why the 2 MLS clubs in NY aren’t as big as they had hoped.

First of all MLS and USL are different corporations. Secondly, im from nyc and not everyone wants to follow a team sponsored by an energy drink that is located in New Jersey or another team sponsored by Qatari oil money. I think there’s enough interest here do you have a smaller team. Especially if they play and Coney Island seems to be the plan.

I do love how Spokane had a good home crowd for their opener. In the 3rd division. Support can be there when properly supported through word of mouth AND marketing. South Georgia seem to be having that problem. Their attendance for their opening match at home was 940. Yes under 1K. That is not good. That’s numbers Central Valley Fuego have had problems with and the stadium they play in has 1K (word is Fresno State is renovating that stadium and adding more seats to it)

Yes I will watch soccer no matter the level of play. It will be interesting how BKFC men will be put together in the months leading up to their March 2025 startup.
Playing at the Coney Island ballpark will be a start; will there be a long term plan for BKFC to have its own stadium (8k-10k would be ok) or will the ballpark be just right for them (see when the Cosmos of the D2 NASL played their last season, 2017, in that ballpark. I went to that last home match in Oct. '17, a win vs Puerto Rico.).
Nice to see that USMNT player Tim Weah has a stake in the ownership. That should get the ball rolling.
And with Brooklyn in the fold it reminds me: what became of the planned, then doomed, Queensboro FC project?

2 cupsets today in the opening of the US Open Cup. Miami United of the NPSL take out Chattanooga FC and that’s the first MLSNP club out. And the Vermont Green of USL League Two in front of a packed home crowd take out Lexington SC. I see Vermont going pro with the way they’ve been drawing crowds at home.

@@USLInsight oh you hear the Georgia Lions of the NISA had to forfeit so their opponents Apotheos are through. That NISA Georgia team seems to be having problems, what else is new with NISA. NISA had to push back their opening matches to “give time to the new expansion clubs”. I think it’s that and also not seeing that the USOC was around the same time. This is why I don’t support NISA as a pro league cause they’ve been horrible since day 1

As for Brooklyn FC I too am feeling odd if a 3rd team in the NYC area. 2 teams maybe but a 3rd I doubt it even if it’s marketed to only the Brooklyn part of New York City. When the NISA announced a team in LA I called them out on putting a team there. The reply I got was telling me how many were in LA. I reminded them that here it’s different. A city tends to have the loyalty to mainly 1. And if the city was big it could support 2 with the older one more favorable unless they aren’t winning as much (i.e. Clippers over Lakers when Lakers started losing more and Clippers were winning). Like right now with Galaxy and Chivas. Chivas had been winning while Galaxy have struggled. And now USL is looking to put a team in the greater Los Angeles with Antelope Valley and I don’t seem them succeeding.

    • @bigjoeofthe707
      @bigjoeofthe707 5 месяцев назад

Also I have to add that when the Cosmos were still going they had good attendance but dropped once NYCFC started and now look at them. “Hiatus”. Some big cities can support 2 teams in the same league some can’t. LA, NYC, & Chicago are the 3 biggest cities in the country but only 2 have shown (somewhat) they can have 2 at once. Chicago is iffy. They have 2 MLB teams but even than it looks like the Cubs only got the support the most.

Yeah Miami FC has been having trouble with attendance. Before Inter Miami it was ok but ever since Inter Miami joined and started to have full crowds (remember their first season was during the lockdowns) Miami FC have struggled with attendance. Charlotte Independence are the same only with them it was long before Charlotte FC ever existed. CFC wasn’t even announced yet and the Independence started to drop in attendance to where it was between 1K-2K in a stadium that was renovated to like 5K
