    You’ll never see politics completely removed from sports. People will always use politics as a reason for supporting for or against a team or a national team sport. A country getting the rights to host the Olympics will always be politically motivated. The same thing can be said about hosting the World Cup. The Classico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona is political, over the people in Catalonia wanting to be a separate independent nation from Spain. Then you might come across a team like St. Pauli, whose fans are entirely political and mixes the politics of Hamburg with soccer.

  • @erickbyarushengo4726
    @erickbyarushengo4726 3 дня назад

    Aren’t they supporting the community by bringing in that flag? The stadium is after all, located in Hamtramck, which has a very large Arab and Muslim community. For me it shows that they’re being inclusive. How interesting you never felt the need to take issue with the fact that they keep on introducing the rainbow flag during games. I’ve just recently joined your channel so if you have then forgive me. But people really can’t keep politics out of sports, whether that’s people bringing in a flag or NLF players taking a knee during the national anthem.

    In fairness, you mention that Oakland can’t get many people into the current stadium. Their current stadium is in Hayward, a little bit down the east Bay from Oakland. There are those who love anything that has to do with Oakland. And the coliseum is iconic for the city. This might not be a good comparison, but that same stadium, while it was meant for baseball, was the same stadium that the Raiders played and that’s why I believe you can have soccer played there.

    • @USLInsight

      Lets see how it goes. But when it comes to stadiums I'm a fan of stadiums where the fans are next to the actual field like a San Antonio FC one so that's why I don't think it will look good.

    I’m happy to see Reno potentially rejoining. I also like that they’re considering joining League One. I do believe that all teams try to join USL should begin in League One. I’ll also admit that I could be biased because my community in Southern California will be getting a team in League One next season (Antelope Valley). But I believe that it’s best to begin in League one, spend the time building up the team and then they can potentially get moved up to the Championship. Nothing against Jacksonville, Brooklyn or Milwaukee for joining the Championship next season, but it would be nice if they could begin in League One at first. If Brooklyn were to have chosen that route, I believe it could have been an interesting rivalry with Westchester County also joining League One next season. Same thing if Milwaukee were to join League One instead. It would have been interesting to see a rivalry between them and Madison. Rivalries that League One would benefit from. Just how I know having three teams in California will help League One and create a rivalry with the teams.

      Man I like your content but both of your takes here are just not good. No one came to watch the As for multiple reasons. The stadium was the least of those. Because there won’t be a baseball team playing there I fully expect it to be converted to more of a SSS and feel less like a converted baseball field. I fully expect them to draw more than they do this season and for it to look better on tv. As for USL being a business, of course it is! And yes you can pay the fees to start a club but to compare them to MLS just because a poor preforming league one team is moving up is insane. Chances are this move was already in the works before the season even started. Hence why Lexington went out and got a name like Cam Lancaster. USL has proven that the teams that come in care about growing the game and making it more accessible unlike MLS and they don’t have all these arbitrary roster rules like MLS that are designed to make the owner more money.

      @@cliffrusso1159 that’s not why they moved up. They moved up cause NISA is a sinking ship. Look at what’s happening there. That’s also why Miami FC and the Oakland Roots bailed on em. That league is horrible. Detroit was the only good team there. They won every trophy and now that they’re in a real league they’re seeing it’s not so easy like when they played garbage teams. I mean you had an owner forcing his way on his own team’s roster to play goalie and gave up like 5 goals (New Amsterdam FC). Detroit and Chattanooga were hell bent on never going to USL cause of the relationship with MLS and the attitude that they were doing it “the right way” but found out quick they joined up with people who have zero clue on how to run a league

    They could use the football configuration for games. And attendance was bad not because of the stadium. But cause Fisher wouldn’t invest in the stadium and the team.

  • @filibertoperez6356
    @filibertoperez6356 10 дней назад

    “Why would people go there?” First of all, it’s a historic venue that we Oakland sports fans cherish, and will keep coliseum workers employed for a year. Second, we’re coming back to Oakland after two years, and it has great transit access there. Third, the plan is to play at the coliseum only for a year before the Malibu Lot Stadium (adjacent to the coliseum) is built in 2026. The A’s leaving is whole a different issue (Fisher never invested in the team or the stadium). “Oakland is dying” in the outside perception. However, the Oakland Arena the past year broke records in terms of Revenue from all events there (Disney on ice, concerts, etc). And Downtown Oakland has recovered most than any since the pandemic.

    • @bigjoeofthe707

    I was really excited to see a channel that focused on USL but this is honestly just disappointing. This video just reeks of naivete and an unwillingness to grapple with the subject, hiding behind a veil of nonchalance and an appeal to something that has never existed. Sports and politics have and always will be intertwined. Rejecting this is dismissing the very essence and fabric of sports itself, doubly so for a supporter's section. When Palestine is free and the history of this time is reflected upon, I hope you acknowledge your failings, or at least have the wherewithal to know not to share them.

    Detroit city is almost more about the political views of the northern guard than it is about the team itself, almost every song has swearing in it, A LOT of the fans are very vulgar and create a very toxic atmosphere around the ground. They try and justify it with causes however in my opinion it just ends up blocking off main stream media outlets and other fans from being able to cover them or check them out. It is going to be very interesting to see as they move into a much nicer ground if the club is going to continue to allow them to be the first thing you think about when it comes to the club. Detroit City FC has potential to grow but I think right now the supporters group is a bit too far on the extremist side and its going to hinder them in the USL landscape and in the American soccer landscape as a whole.

    And yeah Detroit found out that some things can’t be seen on tv. It’s the same with entering a business where you can’t wear a shirt with vulgarity. No matter if you’re a liberal or a conservative. You’re not allowed to do that. Plus don’t forget Michigan is heavy with an Arab community.

    The Northern Guard Supporters have made it their mission to be the bad boys of American soccer supporters. Even before they played in USL. They did this in the NPSL than continued when they went “pro” in NISA. They always talked smack on MLS (had that FCK MLS sign hanging at matches after word started that MLS were looking at Detroit for potential expansion). And because of their association at the time with MLS the USL took strays as well. NGS presented Detroit as the ones who do soccer the “right way” by not going “corporate”. But many of us saw that when the time would come they would take the money and join MLS or USL. And we saw what happened once they saw they messed up with NISA. Now they’re USL and it was a great site to see them humbled by not winning a trophy after they easily won every trophy while with NISA

    I think it’s great that Oklahoma City (an original club) coming back from hiatus is great for the USL-C. And Reno coming back to the USL is also great (Maybe we can play them in the USL Cup soon). One thing that I do not want USL to do is expand more teams at the USL-C level. For me 24 teams seems about right. I believe only USL-1 should continue to expand for various reasons.

    • @erickbyarushengo4726
      @erickbyarushengo4726 5 дней назад

      I agree that the USL expansion should only be with League One. The Championship already has enough teams in my opinion. It would also be beneficial for League One to expand as there’s currently only 12 teams. And most of them are clustered in the southeast. One can agree that it’s unfair for the teams that aren’t in that region to always have to travel there. I am very optimistic about League One for next season. There will be 6 teams joining the league. One of them is in my community in Southern California (Antelope Valley). It’s good to see League One expanding the map. Now there will be three teams in CA with us, Central Valley and Santa Barbara. If things go as planned, League One will look like a proper league with a number of teams you’ll see elsewhere.

They both were lacking knowledge desire to win the tournament even keep changing the coach but it won't work out to win the world cup and copa America. USMNT support only 10% of people there. How do you expected to win? I feel sorry following years men players were show off to another countries can win but it reality does not. USMNT make people are having hallucination to get thropy in final world cup, the coach whatever just hired a job but keep losing never win, blame to the government, referee and the coach when the team had exit world cup and copa america tournament. Now I don’t mind if a USL club goes to MLS cause he keeps that club even though it encroaches on USL. My bigger problem is when MLS puts a new team there to undermine USL. Like Saint Louis FC folded to make way for St. Louis City even though some the owners owner Saint Louis FC. And of course San Diego Loyal folding thanks to San Diego FC. I have said MLS could be the top league but work together with USL to grow the game here.
