CO - HOST
Griff Martin AKA The Rocket Scientist is the Co Host Of the Craig Read Stoned Roadie Podcast. Griff known as the man that can get anything like Radar O'Reilly on mash has even lavished Craig his podcast partner with hard to find items. You may see Craig appear on the show with some of these items like Craig"s Rocket Scientist lab coat and even an airline pilot captains hat and shirt. Craig will tell you he likes gifts but if their gifts anyone can get he doesn't want them. Griff spent 35 years at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa Beach Florida processing and transporting human space flight hardware. He has supported over 100 space shuttle flights and just before he retired helped to assemble the shuttle replacement rocket ARTIMUS set to launch this year. During Griff's career he has worked as a technical director in many major motion pictures at Kennedy like Armageddon, Apollo Thirteen, Space Cowboys and First Man. Griff is a long time fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd and met Craig on FakeBook where they both share the same wit and humor. Craig invited Griff to go on a VIP tour to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and they have been friends ever since.
Don't worry about it Craig. Never seen a happy Liberal. 😉
I have actually learned to mat and frame just to frame Skynyrd prints and memorabilia.. I don't have the proper tools, just a ruler, exacto knife... Measure 10 times, cut once..lol
So sick of these anti SKYNYRD people your stuff you sell it if you want. Love the show
Thank you guys for giving the rest of the story about Roadie’s intentions 👍
Gene Odom is planning a get together in Jax. July 29th look forward to Being there 👍🎸

I recently watched a you tube video with Jo Jo where she mentioned Craig filming under the girls skirts while they were singing, and how she would have loved to see some of your movies.Made me laugh.
There are a lot of people that like to stir up crap these days Craig. I think you are doing a honorable thing. I wouldn’t let those hateful people bother me.
❤😊❤ hey i want to start the stoned roadie ....security roadie crew all thats required is you have to be a true fan of skynyrd and stoned roadie show ha ha lol luv u guys peace ❤😊❤.:
Another classic episode! Thanks for taking the time to do them. Hey Craig just where do you go when you get up and head stage right??? :) Oh I know.
It's because you're so real Craig, that's why people like this podcast so much. That and the love you have for your friends in Lynyrd Skynyrd.
I’m glad you announce this !!! I’m really excited to meet all of y’all.. I’ll keep checking back to see what y’all have planned.. enjoy the podcast…..
The fake Skynyrd need's to stop touring they are no way Lynyrd Skynyrd it's just a money grab!
Haha! That was a great show for not having anything to talk about. Always a hoot, love this show!
Great show Craig and Griff.
🤙🌴😎🌴🤙
Love the podcast! Especially the amazing stories! Great job guys!!
Hey Craig, I’m a fairly new Stoned Roadie watcher.. Been a Skynyrd fan since the early 80s. What year did you quit working for Skynyrd? Is there a Stoned Roadie episode where you talk about how your time with them ended?
I'm just a little younger than you. Have lost many loved ones.
Here's what I learned: when people go, the knowledge, and the stories they hold, go with them.
There are so many things that I wished I could ask my elders but that chance is now gone forever.
Keep telling the stories. The younger generations will eventually never know Skynyrd if those stories are not memorialized.
Hey guys a little off topic but listening to the Mike Estes podcasts could you ask him about Custer. Cuz I partied with him and Custer at the Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls and they said they were writing some songs Mike was not in the band at this time. It was around the Last Rebel tour.Custer was pretty cool he asked Gary if I could come to his room to meet him and sign my guitar which he did and Gary is my idol and Dale was awesome so down to earth. He played my Les Paul with his teeth I was in awe
The convoy sounds fun guys!
Great show guys lol
Great program fellas ... remember all watch the commercials it's like donating. !!!
Y’all do such a great job. Love your guest.
I want to try and be part of the Convoy. Please keep us updated on if there will be a bus, where you are staying, etc.

I for one was very pissed about it but, I realized that I was mourning . I get now so much so I got a beautiful tattoo of Gary wearing the white double pocket shirt and Les Paul ❤. Enjoy your show
❤😊❤ SALUTE
Craig you always have cool pictures behind you, looks pretty nice
Hopefully they will have a show, where they have time to pan thru them, so we can see them all. I bet Craig has negatives to most of that stuff, as well.
Enjoyed. The problem with today's society, you can't have a discussion with people who oppose you, they don't hear while you explain where you stand, because they are too busy planning on what they want to say back at you. They can't digest a productive conversation... good luck. I believe your heart is in the right place, I stand behind you.
#2... just getting back into 18 wheeling after 3 months off, I have been near Gillsburg a few times years ago, not much there then, but, if you want quickest route from Akron(watch them Bears in Mississippi) ...
I76 W to, I71 S, to I264 W ( near Louisville) to I65 S to Nashville, to I40 W to Memphis I240 West to I55 S . (Not sure if the I69 Memphis bypass is open yet-keeps you out of Memphis, short cut from I40 to I55, they were working on it the last time I went through. If you want to bypass Downtown Nashville (Aka Crashville) take Briley parkway west.
Lookie here, lookie here. Another Skynformation podcast. Craig, your heart is in the right place, so keep doing you. Got a friend with a 72 Scooby-Doo looking Winnebago. Maybe get him to haul me down to Mississippi meeting up with the convoy. I don't think Allen had a death wish, he just lived life in the fast lane. Rock on #1 Stoned Roadie!
Yeah, I've heard some unreleased songs they were performing live at clubs, that someone had once put up here on RUclips, then soon after deleted. The band was trying out new stuff at shows... Shame they didn't get released, they would have been good, even the covers they done were great.
They had to be taken off they weren’t supposed to be shared. If you heard the rest they will blow your mind. Maybe onday
Well I heard around 20 songs. My favorite was a cover called p.n.s. when I come around ( I believe that's actually supposed to be when you come around ) I think that one was performed at the sugar bowl, if memory serves me right. I'd love to hear more if they exist. I wish there were some old reel to real rehearsal audio from when they were My Back Yard or the one percent
Yes Illinois Speed Press cover. I posted some years ago and was told to take them down . Someone is trying to clean them up and hopefully the original owner will let them heard. Unfortunately management is to close to home in Jacksonville
@@DavidLee-rx6uo that stinks that you had to take to them down. It would be great if the recordings could be cleaned up more, but they are an incredible find, even as is.
Viewing Craig as the benevolent Richard Simmons of fat is akin to viewing Joe Biden as the benevolent friend of all-things American!..
Man, can't wait to get a couple of t-shirts in support of the Survivors. Great Idea guys! Please send info on how we can purchase the t's. I'm more than ready to buy one each black and white. Get Gene back on to explain. Happy Trails guys, still lovin' the shows! I wouldn't care if they were 3 hours long!
LEON SHOW LEON SHOW LEON SHOW!!!!
Griff that intro blows me away! Good job you’ve got talent! I enjoyed hearing and gaining knowledge about Skynyrd through your guests is great! True stories are the best you can just about piece together what happened with everybody? True stories are the best thanks for sharing. I have learned a lot about Skynyrd big fan. Also since the early 70s my teenage years big big big thank you and Craig!!!
Bill Major wrote and sings it not me!!!
Ready.
That funeral program will be framed by someone and looked at and talked about 100 years down the road. Great way to keep Gary alive!
Thanks!

Thank You from the FORGOTTEN SURVIVORS
I'd like to make the convoy , I've wanted to see that for a long time , sure be nice to meet craig !!
Do it AKA Griff Martin ❤😮
When I pass Craig, my wish is for you to start the bidding on my carcass at only 99 cents…
I want to sell my dead cat Fred. He deserves that much.
Speaking of Elvis..The band went to Graceland and met Elvis, right?.. I've only seen a pic of them on the stairs.. do any pics exist of them actually with Elvis ? Would love to see that
No they didn’t meet him
Elvis wasn't home.
The King had left the building.
I'm a Jacksonville native , 103rd and ricker rd boy. Love hearing the show. Only thing from the skynyrd band I got a larry junstrom pick . And it's from him playing with 38 special. I use to get my cigarettes from coach skinner, there use to be a skinners dairy at on ricker and 103rd ha ha ..
I'll give you the .99 If you pay the shipping.
I enjoy your stories. I would say Steve Parish or Ramrod of the Grateful Dead are much more famous. Keep up the Podcast.
Love the show ❤ Y’all are so fun to listen to! Craig don’t worry about the haters, you are one of a kind!!! I love your attitude and happy self ❤ you are hilarious!!! I love your sense of humor!!! You have me cracking up!!! On a serious note, You know your heart and you know Gary’s heart and sense of humor, he would laugh his ass off at you and your shangeans! Only y’all knew your relationship and what y’all thought was funny, people just wish they knew the band like you did! I love your laugh, especially before you answer a question 😂 y’all do a great job!!! Ignore the negativity, they are just jealous of the fabulous life you have led!!! They just wish they could be as cool as you!!! You don’t have to explain yourself to anybody! If they don’t want to buy it, don’t look up your eBay page. People are stupid! I’m so grateful to hear the stories you have shared and the co host have shared, y’all are awesome!!!
Griff I am glad you came back to the subject of the set list “copies” and made sure to clarify that. I understood when Craig explained the first time but I just knew some who did not want to hear the truth would try to poke holes in his explanation. You cleared it up and closed that door to them so good on you for watching out for and backing up your buddy Craig. Now as far as saying people have to get into Craig’s mind to understand him….that would be a long strange trip and I am not going in there without being attached to rope/harness for someone to pull me back out in case I get lost or scared. Sort of like in Poltergeist movie.
lol
I would love to see that stuff
Thank you Craig
I got some of your memorabilia. I really appreciate it.
Also i can do the saturday night special with ya on saturday nights
I'm a Jacksonville native myself. I'm ricker a
Hey darn griff , you guys are looking way too skinny now ❤ darn
People couldn't afford it because of hotels? Oh heck...you could find plenty of LS fans who more than welcome them into staying at their homes. Just put the word out and I'm sure you'll be taken care of.
IAM REALLY GONNA DO MY PART FOR THIS SHOW ❤
Im figuring it out now ❤
And im gonna make time
I’m the proud owner of one of the medicine bottle slides and ‘special’ green wire used for Free Bird sounds and they are my prized possessions, being a 60 year old Skynyrd fan. But a few months later l saw you had another for sale and l immediately thought l had been bamboozled with my buddies making fun of me. Please tell me there was more than one on the plane in your case. I wasn’t bamboozled was l?
Im sure yours is legit.
@@derekcollins1972 I’m sure it is too. Now that Gary has passed l fully expect to to see some spiritual activity around it!
