    Started at a midsize carrier in my town and went to prime Inc as an IC for only a few months. I ended up going back to my previous carrier as they genuinely knew you and cared about you as a driver. The mega carriers see you as a number and nothing more, they give bad freight and make you sit for hours and even days just to get a load that won't cover the bills. I would recommend anyone new to the industry to look at smaller carriers so you don't fuel the mega corporations. You will be much happier as a driver.

    Bigger is not better. In fact, usually the opposite is true. Every single time that I have worked for a company that claimed to be the biggest in their industry or sub-industry, they proved to be greedy, heartless, and untrustworthy. The bigger a company is, the more you become nothing more than a number. This video is a perfect example! According to this video, UPS is worth $86 billion. Yet, according to other sources, UPS has an annual overturn of 150%!!! They are currently facing bitter disputes with the Teamsters union which is warning that they will strike if an agreement is not soon reached. Do your research before accepting any job folks.

    This information is all well and good, but as a rookie, it provides almost nothing relevant to my future job search, as a new driver I would like to know the safety record of these companies. Pay rates. Driver satisfaction. Minimal requirements for a rookie driver to sign up.

    • @mike-sk2li
      @mike-sk2li 10 месяцев назад

      If you are a rookie I will help you out! Almost any company you go to will be garbage, they will pay you garbage and their safety scores will be garbage because they hire rookies who F up and have a tendency of hitting things because they are new

    • @--AE--
      @--AE-- 10 месяцев назад +5

      I started with Schneider when I first started, and they are a pretty good starting company. Safety was always a #1 priority. There were numerous times I had to pull over due to high winds or other issues, and never once was I pressured to drive. They would literally say “you’re the captain of your ship.”
      As far as pay goes… well, you won’t be getting the best gigs or pay rates until you get some experience under your belt. You would have to contact a Schneider (or whoever) recruiter and talk with a recruiter for pay rates and stuff. Most companies will let you switch accounts (jobs) after some experience and might even pay for relocation expenses.
      And as for experience required, I had 0 experience with a CDL. I went to Troops to Transportation CDL School and from there went straight with Schneider. Did orientation in Portland and then went with a trainer for a short period learning the ropes and then was signed off to go solo. That’s basically how it goes with any company.
      Hope this helps and stay safe out there!

    • @nicureality1427
      @nicureality1427 10 месяцев назад +3

      If the company is big their safety score isn't affected hard when something happen...so, your best bet is to get a good training, and many times smaller companies proved to be much better with drivers than bigger ones.

A lot of Co. give benefits but they are not good benefits and you end up paying for most of the bill and not much of what’s wrong with you is even covered under your insurance. Do you actually believe that working without representation will get you a great benefit package and great retirement where you don’t have to contribute one cent to. I been retired from ABF and I’ve received over $700, 000 in pension pay so far because the union fought for me to get me that benefit. Go work non union and I bet you will never get that kind of benefits for no cost out of you pocket. Do you actually believe that a non union Co. doesn’t lay employees of when business get slow? They do not only lay employees off, they also cut their pay. Just ask people that work at CR England if they didn’t just get their pay cut because business is bad while you just got a new contract with higher pay,even with as bad as the trucking industry is doing these days. The grass alway looks greener some where eles until you get there and find out they’re worst.

    Once I was able to get clear he also tailgated another car and I clocked him going over 80
