  • EXPOSED!! Double Brokering Caught Red Handed!
    _______________
    Can you BELIEVE this??
    One of the primary issues with brokerages, and consequently why they are held is much low esteem, is the act of double brokering! Double brokering is the ILLEGAL act of a broker or carrier transferring a load to another trucking company WITHOUT notifying the shipper.
    In a legitimate shipper-broker agreement, the broker assigns loads to carriers, and those carriers pick up and deliver the loads according to the terms of a broker-carrier agreement.
    Join Ronen as he unveils a double brokering scheme!

    Been a long while since I had to care about prices out of Canada but $5,600 US seems like a good rate. So, I'd expect a trucker to be pretty excited with that rate and be willing to take a bit of risk with a rate con backing them. To put any of your burden on the carrier would be borderline reckless. As you said there is ways to get paid. Clearly the bigger risk is to the original broker/customer if the carrier is knowledgable and persistent. Absolutely fine by me if brokers need to do more work to loadboard freight. This gives them a lot more incentive to find good carriers and continue to work together! In the case of pathetically low rates though, 100% the truckers fault.

    So with that said, let me vent now:

    - You work for me and park on the shoulder for anything other than a breakdown.
    I will free your future up immediately.

    The limousine business is double and triple brokered however our business has that built in from the beginning. As long as each end operator has proper permits, insurance, licenses and business structure. These documents are verified by each link in the chain.

      At that point, is there still a need to double or triple broker? If the first and third person on the "chain" will also have the same info and whatnot, what's the actual benefit to double brokering there? In the case of trucking, it's to stiff the carrier, but since you describe this as legitimate, I'm curious of what the limo industry stands to gain by double and tripe brokering. Enlighten me if you will

    Easy way to deal with this particular load.
    Pay the delivering company what is on their load confirmation, deposit the remainder into an escrow account, give the broker 30 days to provide all necessary paperwork to your satisfaction.
    After 30 days and you are not comfortable with the paperwork, deny payment to the brokers and pay the remainder of the escrow to the delivering carrier.
    Just make sure you back up everything about the brokers.

    • @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News
      @NorthAmerican-Trucking-News  24 дня назад +2

      Brokers are what you consider middle men. When a carrier is completely unable to find their own loads and a shipper is completely unable to find carriers for their loads, rather than finding a way to educate themselves on how to achieve what they want respectively, they instead find a product/service that can make that task easier. That is a broker. A broker is just a middle man that knows how to find loads and knows how to find carriers and since they are doing relatively easy work, they can easily determine how much money they want the load to go for and how low they want to lowball a carrier to ensure that the difference they pocket is easily 30, 40% profit. As long as everyone involved educates themselves, brokers wouldn't be needed.
