    I was saving for this exact camera, and I'm so glad I waited! I was shooting on a Canon 7D at the time and just kept using it for another 2 years, saving up and ultimately getting an URSA Mini Pro 4.6K. It's easily the best purchase I've ever made!

      @@AllThingsKen How? They're 2 totally different beasts: The Ursa has a 10" folding monitor + 2 additional monitors on each side, you can frame on the big monitor while checking peaking, histogram, time-code all your other settings on the other screen. An AC can simultaneously be using the touchscreen on the other side to check/adjust settings and pull focus, or a sound mixer can be watching the two huge VU meters for adjusting levels. + it has no rolling shutter. The Ursa mini is smaller, lighter, but it's plastic, has rolling shutter and pretty much requires an EVF or external monitor. Ok so the mini has 2 more stops of dynamic range and high frame rates. Kubrick was able to shoot Barry Lyndon with T1 and 100 ISO. If you really can't get a usable shot with a T1.8 lens and 3200 ISO, use a Sony A7. Mini is a good camera for slow motion music videos/weddings, but most of what it's good at can be done better with the pocket 6k or a DSLR.

      @AllThingsKen 2 года назад

      @@EpictheEpicest I agree the camera has its advantages but the sensor is the same sensor as the 4K Ursa not the 4.6 k. The dynamic range is less than the pockets and it doesn't have the New Black magic raw

    • @EpictheEpicest
      @EpictheEpicest 2 года назад

      @@AllThingsKen 99% of the cameras in the world including all but 1 of Blackmagic's own cameras don't have Blackmagic Raw and people seem to get along fine shooting raw without it, I question its relevance. 2. The Blackmagic Ursa and Ursa Mini 4k have the same sensor as the Red Scarlet, which is a 5k full-frame sensor. The 4.6k sensor "technically" has more dynamic range, but it's been added to offset the loss due to the smaller sensor size. If a full-frame mount was designed for the Ursa it would kill the Ursa mini. And the mini with the 12k sensor is now the same price as the 4.6k, so this guy says he's glad he saved up, but by not waiting a few more months, he lost out on an even better camera. Meanwhile I'm here not caring to buy "the next big thing" and I'm fine.

      @@EpictheEpicest I'm saying if you are going to use a company's brand it'll be nice to use the best they have to offer. Of course you don't have to and you can make great content with whatever you have. You don't need the newest thing. By the way are you sure those cameras share the same sensor? those are super 35 sensors

    Great video with some funny moments. The tiny lens and matte box part had me laughing. Also the 10 inch screen in your face when camera is on the shoulder LOL. Love this review. Your detailed description of your experience was so convincing I can actually imagine those annoyances and pitfalls of the camera.

      Robert 1776 Yes, absolutely! I think I was a little too critical of this camera in this video coming from a “retiring it” perspective. I’ll make an updated video that goes more into detail about what it’s good for because as an outdoor or interview camera with ample lighting it’s absolutely a camera you should still consider in 2019.
