At first I was saying C-clip? Second take, you installed it. Suzuki manual recommends the c-clip gap should be aligned with the pry out cut on the piston, aka rotate gap to that position.
Wait what? Did I hear you say motorcycles "allowed" to be on the motorways. So you can't legally ride year round?? Serous question there as im planning to get a holiday home outside of Wolverhampton and will have a motorcycle as primary transportation.

I have a 98 marauder vz 800 about the same motor says to put rear cylinder on then water unions an then the front cylinder i cant get head to go on with union on please help
Did you find what was wrong with your engine. I have oil in the top of my head/ leaks out when hot. Is it just a head gasket. Or is it just the wrong oil? Just purchased the bike

Why use ring compressor? Bottom of the sleeve has special chamfer. The only purpose of it is to help you get rings in
And will the years cross over for parts

Where do you find engine rebuild kits for a intruder 1400?
If you are referring to the gasket kit. Look up Athena VS1400 (year of bike*) engine gasket full kit
What about bottom end kits? I believe I need to do piston rings as well.getting bad blow by

The resistance of the fuel pump should be 1 - 2 ohms

You use compressor from the wrong side of cylinder. Where the flat surface it goes
